Performance Discussion 11 & 12 June, 2022

Vishwaja with Sayli. Vishwaja did very well today. In fact I feel this was probably her best performance to date. She seems to be quite talented and probably TCT is probably not making her perform to her fulll potential.

Rituraj and Aryananda. They need to stop this drama of pranks. It is getting boring now. Coming to the song - I felt Rituraj really matched Aryananda in skills. And that is very commendable considering their respective ages. Both did very well. Rituraj is really a strong contender for the finals. Aryananda is of course one.

Pratyush and Rohan. Both did well but I felt Rohan's voice modulation was probably a little better than Pratyush 's - perhaps because of his natural inclination to drama. But eventually it seems MTI caught up with him. His "ukhda" sounded more like "ukhra.". But the after-song drama - well what can one say. Totally tangential!

Pranjal. First of all I wonder who those kids were and what impact this is going to have on their lives. Will this incident make their daily life more challenging? Will their neighbours and friends make fun of them? I hope nothing untoward happens to them. Coming to his performance... Excellent job. I liked his voice modulation especially every time he went really low on "apna kinara". But his duitara seems to have been reduced to just being a prop. I would love to see more use of it.

Mani. Very emotional moments to start with, but what an amazing performance after that! This boy is like Sawai - very talented but life seems to have dealt him a raw deal. Hope things work out for him in the future!

Pawandeep and Arunita duet. Well, that was a surprise! This explains why Siddharth Dey made a video of PD singing this song. Well, these two - what is left to say about the magic they create on the stage! But in the context of this show, clearly this was an effort to bump up the TRP. Assuming this receives good response on SM we should expect to see more of their duets. It really feels like this show is riding on their shoulders - in the context of the show that is not a good thing.

Soyab. Another strong performance but right up his alley.

Pawandeep seemed to be sleep deprived a bit, and clearly did not like Harsh's quip that he laughs only for Arunita. They are probably thinking TCT is stretching this too far, and understandably so.

Ronnie Satamkar once again had the acoustic guitar that looks just like PD's. Meanwhile in the last few weeks we have seen PD with a different acoustic guitar. I wonder of they have traded guitars.

Archana Puran Singh and Shekhar Suman didn't even get to speak (at least the version they put on Sony Liv) and appeared in barely 2 or 3 shots. Surprising.

Also, it looks like some (at least Mani) are going to get another song tomorrow. Unfairness and arbitrariness continue to prevail.

Looks like they will make mani the winner of this show. Most emotional backstory (we all know most of these stories are fake) and most promoted so far.

I think generally we have seen emotional back stories taking people far but not making them winners.

True. It might be the case in Star Plus, but not in Sony, from what I know. My bet is still on Faiz winning. But will have to confirm once voting starts to see how much of his fandom actually converts to votes because even Pranjal seems to have a strong fanbase based on views alone.

As for today’s episode, why are they stooping so low with the drama? Hated pretty much all of it. I would prefer Aditya anyday over the comedy couple. Also, no genie wish for Vishwaja? 🤪

The performances were likeable though. Vishwaja-Sayli was good. Their voices are very coordinated. But Vishwaja’s voice was trembling in many places, so she didn’t look as effortless as Sayli.

Aryananda-Rituraj were great. For the first time, I liked Arya’s performance. Though Rituraj clearly stood out for me. Loved the way he bought variations to the notes and the little touches he adds in his singing to make it his own. I haven’t really enjoyed many of his songs earlier, but today he looked so calm, almost bored on stage, as if he wasn’t singing one of the most difficult songs. It was fun 😆

Rohan-Pratyush were soo relaxing to hear. I really like Rohan’s voice. He is capable of so much more. If they would let him focus on his singing more than on him performing, he could deliver some solid performances. Anyways, Pratyush was also really good.

Pranjal’s I felt like skipping. It was boring tbh. Been-there-heard-that feeling. Also, his voice seems to be cracking or breaking while singing but the judges go gaga at exactly the same moment so I’m confused if it’s deliberate. Am I misunderstanding some crucial aspect of music?

Soyeb and Mani too, the same old. I’m not a huge fan of Mani’s singing. Salman seems to be trying to make a miniature of himself. Why does there need to be so many high notes in all of Mani’s songs? Same with his Naina act last week. And for both Soyeb and Mani, as an ordinary listener, I find them to be screaming many times. Maybe it’s a part of music I am not exposed to

I hope tomorrow doesn’t have as much drama as today. At least try to maintain the image of being a ‘reality’ show. But no, yaha toh sab ke sab acting me mahir hai 🤪 Javed Ali should definitely try an hand in acting.

For me the most stand out song of the evening was Arudeep duet.

Specially Arunita!! What a melodious voice. ❤️

tbh i just feel that his vocal quality is carrying him at the moment, so I am unsure. Easily top 10, but top 5 seems questioning (according to me).Hopefully he proves me wrong with his upcoming performance, which looks promising.

I couldn't watch the full episode. Just watched Aryananda - Rituraj & Mani's performances and loved both.

Arunita-PD duet was pale comparing to their earlier duets, the 'feel good' charm is lost due to excessive exploitation of their duets. They were out of sync as well at the starting, if I am not wrong. 👎🏼

Oh there was Pawandeep-Arunita duet too. They didn't give any promo for it?
