And it’s not like y’all can’t do it lol what happened to you can contact the global moderator in case you want to self ban your account, which would delete all the posts?

Thank you for raising this concern and for your understanding.

Automatically hiding posts from deactivated accounts, especially in threads with substantial contributions, poses significant challenges. Here’s why:

  • Impact on other Contributors: Many users contribute valuable insights, information, and discussions to threads over time. Automatically hiding posts could disrupt these contributions and make it difficult for other users to follow the conversation threads.
  • Loss of Context and Continuity: Threads often build upon previous discussions, and hiding posts would break this continuity. Users who refer back to older threads for information or context would find it harder to understand the discussions.
  • User Privacy Considerations: We understand the importance of user privacy. This is why we anonymise the posts to ensure they are no longer linked to the user who posted them. This helps protect user privacy while maintaining the integrity of community discussions.
  • User Control: Users currently have the option to delete their own posts manually if they wish to do so. This process requires individuals to remove each post individually, which allows them to manage their contributions while maintaining the thread’s continuity for other users.

We value the contributions of our users and strive to maintain a platform where discussions can flourish and evolve organically.

We do consider all suggestions seriously and continuously work towards enhancing user experience while balancing community integrity and technical feasibility.

Bold red) one can still see the identity if the member was tagged in some other posts. So, it technically doesn’t really protect the privacy of the member with a deactivated ID.

bold blue): this also really doesn’t affect much coz I don’t think people go back to reading like older discussions.

you don’t wanna implement the features that’s fine, but when people literally beg you to delete their account then you must. I have seen not one but multiple people requesting to get their accounts and data deleted on multiple occasions mostly when they were being targeted on the forum. Rest is up to you. Have fun running a website on your likes and terms.

Thank you so much for your guidance. Thank you so much for your reply. I did not find a 'Delete' button but I was able to remove the contents of the post and update it by leaving a small dot. The post was not getting 'Updated' with no contents as I was getting an error message that the post cannot be empty.
