Please note that self bans are no longer given, if you would like your account to be deactivated please PM us HOWEVER keep in mind that if you do decide to deactivate you cannot return with a new ID.

Is this the feature that you mentioned a couple of weeks ago? If I request a deactivation, will it be similar to account hibernating? Thanks

The quoted rule was in place when there was no option of self deactivation. I have informed the mods and they will make the necessary changes and fix this.

Deactivation / Hibernation right is with the user only and they can do it on their own through Account Settings. Mods cannot deactivate/reactivate.

I think the point that they are trying to make is that some users make unwanted posts which is against the Forum Code of Conduct and when they get Warning Level, they deactivate their account and come with a new account and continue the same thing which defeats the purpose of WLs.

This has nothing to do with the feature that I have mentioned and again it will be in the hands of the user where they let their hibernation lapse and that user account will not be retrievable.

views = 21.2K ?

matlab ke 1099 post bhe hon to IF 1K he show karega?

Ap hamain bata do ab kese check karain on mobile ke abhe total posts kitni hain ?

Hello,

I understand your concerns regarding the recent updates, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused. The changes were made to improve the readability of large numbers, especially on mobile devices. Here's an explanation:

Post and View Count Display:

  • For numbers less than 1,000, the exact value is displayed (e.g., 999).
  • For numbers from 1,000 to 999,999, the value is displayed in thousands with one decimal place if necessary (e.g., 1k, 1.1k for 1120).
  • And for higher numbers from 1,000,000 to 999,999,999, the value is displayed in millions it will have two decimals (e.g., 1m).
  • Similarly, for billions, the value is displayed in billions (e.g., 1b).

So, when you see:

posts = 1.1k, it means the posts are approximately 1,120.

views = 21.2k, it means the views are 21,200.

Exact Count on Mobile:

Your point is valid for mobile users. We are working on adding a feature that will allow users to see the exact numbers when they tap on the shortened format. This will help you see the exact count of posts and views.

We appreciate your feedback and are always looking to improve your experience on India Forums. After all, we've been around since 2003, and with your support, we're continuously trying to bring India Forums up to date with the times.

So, let's give these updates a fair chance and see how they grow on us. Sometimes, change can be a bit like switching from your favorite cozy blanket to a new one – it might feel different at first, but soon it becomes just as comfortable!

Thank you for your understanding and support!

Best regards,

Deactivation only hibernates the user. The posts are still visible. The forum needs to come up with a feature that temporarily hides all the posts pertaining to the deactivated account otherwise it’s of no use.

Deactivate account are two words replaced with account hibernation lol smiley37smiley37smiley37smiley37 seriously a forum this big with so much of PR related services should have come up with a simple account deletion/complete deactivation feature a long time ago lol don’t know what’s the deal lol

Hi Naya_31,

As we’ve mentioned previously, deactivation hibernates the user, and the posts remain visible to maintain the integrity of discussions.

If a user wishes to hide their posts, they can manually do so. Repeatedly posting the same concern doesn't change our current policy, however we appreciate your input.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Vijay

This approach is consistent with many large forum sites (Reddit, StackOverflow, etc) to preserve the integrity and continuity of discussions. If it was not a big deal I am sure these large forums would have also implemented it.

Thank you for your understanding and for being an active part of our community.

Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns and appreciate you taking the time to share them with us. The Bollywood forum has indeed seen a decrease in activity, and we're actively working on solutions to reinvigorate engagement and community interaction.

Here are some steps we’re taking to address these issues:

  1. Community Engagement Initiatives: We are planning several new initiatives to boost community engagement, such as interactive events, discussions, and contests that will encourage more participation from our members. Your suggestions for any specific activities or topics you'd like to see are always welcome.

  2. Enhanced User Experience: As mentioned in our recent announcement, we are making significant updates to the site to improve the overall user experience. Enhanced navigation, new topic display options, and more personalized features will make it easier and more enjoyable for members to participate and engage with content.

  3. Category Reorganization: We are reorganizing our categories and adding new ones to cater to a wider range of interests. This expansion will provide fresh and relevant content, attracting more members and encouraging them to be active participants.

  4. Feedback and Suggestions: We are always open to feedback and suggestions from our community. If there are specific changes or features you believe would help revive the Bollywood forum, please share them with us. Your input is invaluable in helping us create a better experience for everyone.

We believe these updates and efforts will help revive the Bollywood forum and bring back the vibrant community spirit. We are committed to making India Forums a place where everyone can enjoy engaging discussions and feel a part of a thriving community.

Thank you for being a part of India Forums and for your continued support. We look forward to your participation in the upcoming changes and initiatives.

how will I hide all 22k posts? Do you really think I have the time to do that? I’m not asking you to change the policy lol but at least do something different rather than the same repetitive automated reply lol it’s not like I’m the only person who has ever asked for a account deletion option. And it’s not like y’all can’t do it lol what happened to you can contact the global moderator in case you want to self ban your account, which would delete all the posts?
