YRKKH Banner Contest Issue

In regards to Yrkkh forum -

Really didn't want to come here but left with no options.

The problem addressed here has already been voiced by some members this morning itself to the forum mods, but no heed was paid to them. Even prior to that, in compliance with coc rules, some members informed the mods regarding the banners which were not a fair representation via PMs and in return just got false assurances.

(If any proof of this is required will share the screenshots)

The point is there was a banner contest in the Yrkkh forum and its results were announced yesterday. Due to foul play by some, the voting got closed for all forum members and only IO votes were counted.

As a result, a banner won which doesn't represent the narrative of this show and is only focused on a couple who no longer even exists in the story. The whole purpose of asking for a new banner was, that when we open the forum, we get to see all the new main ckts (adults, kids included) that got introduced post-leap.

But sadly this is what's visible on our mobile screens now in form of new banner. Kindly take a look at the old & new banners and see for yourself if you could spot any difference in the characters that are occupying the centre stage!!

Just want to ask as someone who unfortunately watches this show regularly & participates in yrkkh forum...

How is it fair for people who don't even watch the show or don't have any idea about its story choosing a banner as per their liking which is in no way giving a correct representation of the story?

How due to cheating by some people everybody who'd requested for a new banner and were excited to take part in it, getting robbed off their voting rights... the best measure of selecting final banner?

We understand people's concerns but a banner contest was held with proper rules and fair voting. We ended up having to cancel public voting due to cheating, but other than that we kept it fair and thus we will ensure that the winner is treated fairly and properly.

People are allowed to show their concerns and we hear those concerns but we didn't stipulate the rule that Abhinav needed to be in the middle and that is our fault, not the makers' fault and thus we will not punish them for that.

We didn't give false reassurances. At that time, we said we would look into it and try to be fair. We did exactly that. We cannot be unfair to the makers. They all spent time to make these nice banners so we will have that winning banner for the next 6 months minimum.

Just want to add a point here from my end.

The banners were up for a long time. There were almost 2 rounds of IO voting conducted. If there was any concern. it could have been raised a bit earlier instead of on the day when results were announced as it's unfair to the winner and people have spent so much time creating and voting for those banners.

I really appreciate the mods for conducting IO voting twice and even giving time for creators when they asked for additional time by extending deadlines.

Thanks for such a quick reply. And it's a relief to know that our concerns are being considered 😊

But sadly I see no solution to the problem I shared.

Again it's not only about Abhinav.. But it's also about Abhir & Ruhi - the two kids who are the charm of the show post-leap.. Another character Arohi who's in the show since the start is pushed to the side.. An important character Manjhari which is providing daily popcorn content to viewers is nowhere to be seen.

Looking at the banner it seems as if only 2 people exist in this show 😂

I'm honestly in no way implying that the voting has been unfair.. I'm just tryna point out that this issue has risen due to considering IO votes only. If all are punished due to cheating by few it defeats the whole purpose of asking for a change.

What surety is there that in the next banner contest this won't repeat itself and we won't get stuck with another IO vote based banner!?

Rest I agree with you that the banner creators have put all their efforts and shouldn't be treated unfairly for mistakes made by others.

Not sure if I'll be here for another 6 mts. to see the new banner but hope the contest is handled better the next time.

I think one mistake we made was waited for our round of vote to be fair. Second mistake, the moment it was cancelled we didn't come around on global or main forum to criticize banner but decided to keep it in PM - in a way following the defined rules - that some banners aren't fair, and finally this is the punishment we deserved.

Efforts are put in by all the people who made the banner and some had really been fair to the show while others were fair to one ship.

Overall, at this point I have lost faith I used to have in mods in the past for main forum. Thank you for all the support till date. I will never be visiting that forum again - not because of any banner but because of everything else that we have faced for following directed rules of PMs and talking to moderators. I have learnt my lesson.

And I would like to add one point that Abhinav is not even in the center of the show montage that is aired before each episode 🤷‍♀️. So why the expectation that he be in the center of the forum banner?

I’ve never seen any banner contest rules that try to dictate the placement of each character. That is the creator’s choice 🤷‍♀️. Abhinav is still represented in the banner prominently with one solo pic, one pic with Akshara and one with Abhir. So how exactly is this unfair? The banner maker clearly followed the rules which asked to include Abhinav and even included all his relationships in the show 🤷‍♀️

The banner has such a lovely design overall but unfortunately everything has been sidetracked by arguments over who needs to be in the center 🤷‍♀️

With all regards, my concern is not even just about Abhinav being in the centre. There is literally nobody other than two characters whom I can see in the new banner😅, specially when viewing from phone. This does not look like the banner of a family show, rather seems to be just about those two characters, and thus does not seem inclusive enough. The children who are the main characters in the current story are also squeezed in the end. I do understand that its a time consuming and effort intensive process, but yet would like to point out that the current banner does not seem inclusive and does not show even the most important characters currently. And from what I remember there have been concerns raised earlier too that a lot of the banners look similar, and thus earlier were assured that the win would given keeping into consideration of the inclusivity. From the banner, I don’t get the summary that the show is about different rishtas, but rather that it is only about two individuals.

The IO based voting issue was already raised by Phir_Mohabbat prior to the voting. So didn't feel the need to repeat the same thing again.

At that time the voting was yet to open to the rest of us. But unfortunately due to foul play by some members got denied of their votes and today I'm raising the same that punishing all for cheating done by few isn't fair!

Kindly read my post again before accusing of saying that I'm implying cheating by mods or am against the banner creator.

This is the montage and synopsis of YRKKH on Hotstar, I don't see any other character than Abhimanyu and Akshara on their montage or in the synopsis.

You can atleast see all characters in desktop mode on new banner, Channel and Hotstar don't even leave a room for that, inclusiveness is not a thing when channel puts two people on THEIR banner

What exactly are we contesting here?

The problem is with banner on the mobile, right? Similarly, the banner on Hotstar, which you watch on mobile is this. The montage for TV is different and all characters are there in the forum's banner, you can use desktop mode or desktop or ask tech team to make sure whole banner fits in the mobile version too.

Banner competition started and rules were there for everyone to see and object to them. Moderators had to increase banner submission dates for ONE Abhinav fan, talk about not taking views of people into consideration, whole process was stalled for one individual.

During first round of voting, someone found that a member had submitted multiple banners with minor changes and objected to it right away. Voting was closed by moderators, duplicate banners were removed and voting started again.

Invite only members voted for their favourite banners then voting was opened for all, in this round, people who are objecting to the winning banner participated and selected banners.

If you had any issues with rules then those concerned should have been raised before or during voting. Due to suspected cheating votes of invited members were counted, if you had issues with this then again, these issues should have been raised before result announcement

After results were announced, just because the banner you wanted didn't win doesn't mean the winner shouldn't get a congratulation thread, they couldn't even accept their siggy and congratulations properly because people ruined it for her

Moderators have been fair towards everyone involved

Just because things don't go our way, doesn't mean we spoil it for someone else
