I like the new logo but the current one shows unity

Congratulations! Vijay. Good luck with the new logo. New logo is very pretty... Change is always good. Hard to believe I am still an active member here after 10 years. Never gave it a thought 10 yrs back.

Vijay, great job with the new logo and also the concept behind the brand, the play icon especially. As some have said, why dont you try incorporating the old and the new logos together as the former represents the unity amongst the different members of IF from various parts of the world. Like the colour combination though and visually, it looks good⭐️ You and your team have made IF what it is and we are indebted to you for giving us this place which will always be our second home no matter when. Keep it up!👏

As far as the shape of this logo goes, it's incomplete: while it does resemble the Play and Discussion icons, it doesn't resemble the Community icon at all. Sorry, different colors just don't sell it. As far as the colors go, from an asthetic standpoint, I don't like it. I'd prefer the violet/purple end on the right, the magenta on the left. Also, don't like green looking like it's inside the loop. Also, there's nothing in the logo that suggests Indian: the older one had a saffron, green and blue on it, but this one suggests squat about India.

Anyway, I do think this branding should take a back seat to any structural behind the scenes things that you are architecting. While some of it may be things that you're currently not sharing, some of the priorities of your team have seemed bizarre, to put it mildly. Like you overhauled the look of this website in order to make it mobile friendly, instead of just releasing mobile apps, or doing an m.india-forums.com version of it, and that made the user experience horrendous for a while.

You mentioned sometime back that you are working on apps for Android and iOS. You might want to toss in Windows 10 into that, so that one can have an India Forums app in addition to everything else.

Things at my end is going a little crazy as we are coping with so many things at the same time.

We revamped the entire website design last in 2008 and since then a lot of things have changed. The technology has moved much faster and I would admit I have been slow in catching up with it. And may be somewhere we followed the principle we normally do "Why fix something when its ain't broken" and this has hurt us immensely. However, its never too late if we are ready to take on the challenge and bounce back.

Starting off with the new logo:

Why we want to change the logo in the first place?

I understand that we are all attached to the current one and changing the logo is huge thing. But there are a few practical reasons why we would like to change it.

Well the problems with the current one is that it is not universal (when we make it smaller it is not clear) and graphically does not stand out when placed beside other logos or on several places as its a bit thin. Even when we place it on a Mic Boom or as a Mobile App icon its not much visible.

Solution: New Logo

Thus we started off with a whole new logo and a lot of thought process have gone behind it and I hope you all like it and appreciate it:

Brand Concept:

Play : India-Forums is an entertainment discussion portal and mostly covers television and movies. So we felt "Play" was the right thing to resemble entertainment.

Discussion: Chat window

Community: This we are trying to show it through Colors mixing into each other like people from various background, countries, etc coming together and highlighting unity in diversity.

Logo when placed on a white background:

Logo on light and dark background along with different positioning including resizing the same as FavIcon and Mobile App Logo.

Well I have a lot of exciting news to to share with you all and will be keeping you all posted.

The new logo looks nice although admittedly, I am partial to the current one that we have right now. It has become a symbolism of unity and diversity to me and would greatly appreciate it if we can somehow incorporate this unison into the new logo as well. Unless the multi-colors is supposed to represent the unity, then I'm fine.
