I was on another forum trolling around yesterday and I realized I couldn't post anything until I had reached a minimum posts (50). I was only allowed to PM the Moderators. Topics were also moderated until member would reach a certain sanity. I think newbies should not be allowed to PM other members, unless they are in their buddy list, or some sort of.

How can you reach 50 posts if you can't post anything?😕

True and this point on toshans suggestion i agree. But i think pming others makes no sense and someone said 10 pms they can send alot or even pm multiple people in one pm i think. As i gotten a pm and with others via clubs

Yes, I agree with Aahaana. They can befriend a user and then send them a PM. However, once they start sending mean messages and the concerned person removes them from their list, the PM feature will be automatically disabled. Of course, it's needless to say that such troublesome users should be reported right away.

This is a good idea!!

That's fair enough. PM only those in the friend's list. PM button has been abused enough already.

Oh and please please for the love God, don't allow these newbies to post threads/pictures. That is the root of all evil! I cannot stress on this enough.

Some of them even post nasty pictures of Sunny Leone masturbating on the forum in random topics. It is so embarrassing to unknowingly open the thread only to find such vulgar pictures especially God forbid if you are at workplace. Absolutely no threads or pictures should be posted by the newbies! Also, It is just creepy how they make one ID after another within minutes and start opening threads.About 6 MIDs were made yesterday to post my picture and harass me and Mandy/Souro could do nothing but delete their posts. The 11 post per day did not work at all. As soon as one ID's 11 posts were up, the other one showed up. They just use proxy and keep making new IDs and post. Its totally baffling and disgusting.

I have seen sometimes that a member is caught by admin, temp banned or something; then they cry and apologize and surprisingly they are allowed back within days! This should not be happening. Even if for some reason you believe the culprit should not be permanently banned (maybe it's not a big enough offense, maybe they are on old member with a clean record before that incident or something, I dunno) you should still let the temp ban stand for an appreciable amount of time (couple of months?) and when the ban is lifted, they should be put in a restricted usergroup where they will face many of the restrictions/moderated posting/etc mentioned above for some time. They need to earn the forum members' trust back. Don't go soft on them please.

A few days ago, Blue Ice was openly abused by an MID. It was disgusting. She even stopped posting in the forum after this, sadly.

Besides, that member who harassed Dexter knows all the forum happenings. He knows every member who has cold war with Dexter. He is taking undue advantage of this and threatening her. It could be one of her friends who has access to her twitter.

That person has been asking different members about my personal details. He knows my ethnicity too, which only regular members know.

I would ask Vijay to take this issue seriously and find out the real person behind it.

I completely agree to what Kal said. Infact, the Moderators only unban accounts after they are convinced of the members justification or even reducing WL's for that matter.

But how can the Moderators tackle IP masking issues? I person with dynamic IP can create as many accounts as possible. That's how I use to. Can Vijay think of a solution to prevent the use of proxies on this forum?

No Somy.

Suppose I have taken a selfban and want my account back. I always have to make a new ID and PM and Global Mod to unban my profile. So if newbies are not allowed to send PM, how will I be able to communicate?

I think the PM box and profile of newbies should be accessible by Moderators. Or ten reports against a newbie should automatically have him blocked from PMing or posting. That way we need not wait for the GM to come and ban him or viewbie to block him.

1o-20 reports against a person and he should get blocked till the Moderator comes and solves the issue.

I suggested this some time back:
Rather than creating a new ID to get the old one back, why not simply do through email. You know like a "forgot your password" feature, there could be an option like "request to end self-ban" or something. You select it, confirm your email address (the one that's in your profile) and you will receive a confirmation link in your email. Click on it and voila! You're unbanned.
Alternately, when a self-banned member tries to log in they could be shown a message like "You have been banned upon your own request. Do you wish to unban yourself?" If you click on "Yes" then you will be asked to confirm your email address, security question, etc and then a confirmation link would be sent to your email as I said above.

BTW a ban should be a ban in every sense. It shouldn't be possible for a banned member to still log in, like posts, etc.

I also came up with a suggestion to automate self-banning:
Then there's no point calling anything a "temporary ban". It's just a ban until Bhai...err the GM says otherwise. I thought it was like some other forums I've been where it is possible to issue bans for specific periods for offenses that aren't big enough for permanent ban (sometimes it happens automatically when your WL reaches a certain point and the system bans you for N weeks or whatever).

For self-bans they should just add a self-ban option in the Dashboard and let members use it as they like (the unbanning would be done by email like I mentioned earlier). This would take some load off your shoulders.
