My picture was posted on the public forum again by another MID with nasty insults attached and everyone including Mandy the Bollywood section moderator witnessed it. You really need to do something about this Vijay or you will have lawsuits coming out of your ears. This is truly disgusting. Ban newbies from making threads/posting pics or PMing completely!

Thanks for this thread Dex. Even though you had to go through a load of crap to bring this to the attention of IF admins. Just logged in earlier and read some of your Tweets. I was absolutely creeped out by what had unfolded.

The first time this happened to her a few days ago, I removed all my pics from Twitter. You never know what kind of people lurk on public forums, and it is your responsibility as site admin, Vijay, to ensure nobody's privacy is breached. Finalising colours for member hierarchy should come much later in your priority list, you know?

To my knowledge, Dexter didn't share her pics on IF, so you cannot say now that she 'should have been more careful' or whatever defense you may be contemplating in light of this f**king nonsense.

Despite a Twitter account being protected, there are a few followers/friends whose accounts are public. So internet stalkers may still be able to have some idea of what's being said on Twitter, what picture is being posted, etc. You can't control what happens there, but you damn well can control what happens here. You've failed in that regard Vijay, because it seems the top brass here is more concerned about updating Chaska Meter rankings and TV actor rankings.

To hell with that. There are other forums that exist on IF. You need to treat all members equally rather than pandering to the majority. Despite so many pleas to bring IP checks, privacy tools, and proxy detectors in place (almost ALL public forums have proxy detectors, I know this), members' words keep falling on deaf ears. Considering IF is a huge forum, the security offered to members here is downright laughable.

It seems the admins/mods are more concerned about censorship on here rather than seeing to it that IF becomes a quality forum where members enjoy some degree of e-anonymity. Half the dead forums here are full of escort ads and troll threads by bots, but you guys do nothing about it.

If you can address the complaints by fans who weep buckets every time some TV celeb is bashed, I'm sure you can look into the privacy violations that surface on IF.

...right?

And also add some feature so that we can make our profiles private and no-one except those in our buddy list can see our profiles or our posts.

This.

Since Vijay failed to do anything, I have filed a cyber crime complaint. This goes under cyber harassment and cyber bullying. Feel free to cooperate with the cops when they contact you, IF admins. Enough is enough. Someone has to set a precedent around here.

Hey friends,

I have discussed with Vijay about the suggestions mentioned here. We are considering the following options and need your inputs as well before finalizing a final solution.

Here are the options:

- Restricting the members post per day to 10 (its already implemented)

- They can not open new threads until they have become groupbie/senior member

- Posting picture/image and hyperlinks feature will not work until they become groupbie.

- Limiting their PM per day to 10 PMs

Or

- Newbie's will not be able to send PMs to random members, however they can send PM to friends on their Buddy List

(This feature may sound harsh to genuine newbie's and not everyone add newbie's as their friends so it need to be reconsidered)

Some of you had suggested members post should be viewable for the members on their buddy list but India-forum is a public forum hence this option cannot be considered. If anyone got any other suggestions then please feel to post it here.

Vijay will post the details tomorrow:)

My only concern is the loopholes they will get through. But the efforts are appreciated. People take IF way too seriously!

If they are not allowed to post threads or pictures as newbies, that will take care of everything! There will be no loophole if that door is closed completely.

Also please ban these newbies straight away if they log in with different IP addresses constantly several times a day. This means they are using a proxy and potential violators!

And no PMing random people. Enough is enough.

I have a suggestion. The newbies must post 500 posts (meaningful posts), and not LOL, THAT WAS GREAT, THANKS FOR SHARING, etc. Once it is confirmed they are good to go, they can PM people and things like that.

However, being a newbie, they should be allowed to PM the mods and the mods can act as a mediator between them and the concerned person. For example, if I am a newbie, and I want to send a message to a certain someone, I can:

A) Either contact them openly, as in openly posting my concern. Or,
B) Contact the respective mod to pass on the message to that person. However, I don't know if option B will be a successful one or not.

Just a suggestion.

Regards!
