How does it feel to have a successful wife?
She was always successful even before we got married. She has achieved a lot in life. I am very fortunate to have an inspiring and brave wife. Her biography in Bal Bharti is being taught to all the students in the country. I salute her valor.
Does she seek advice from you?
We are friends first and spouses later. We hail from the same field so we do share our opinions with each other. She is senior than me so even I take her advice. There is no ego between us. She too asks me for advice whenever she needs it.
What is your mantra for a successful marriage?
A husband and wife are like two wheels of a cart which have to move together. A problem in one wheel can result in the imbalance of the cart. Spouses have to be in sync.
What is the biggest hurdle that you have faced?
We have been together during the ups and downs of life. She has been my pillar of support when I was struggling. She too has had her share of hard times. We have both adjusted to make space for each other. The only difficulty that we had faced was when we were getting married. I am a Punjabi and she is a South Indian. Trust me it was tough to convince our families.
Do you think you are sacrificing?
Our relation is so strong that there is no place for sacrifices. One has to sacrifice when your partner doesn't understand your needs and desires. As then you end up sacrificing your dreams. We have a very smooth personal and professional life together.
What is that one thing that you like the most about her?
Everything about her is inspiring. There is not a single fault that I can point out. She is very nice and adjusting. She has been a dutiful daughter and a loving wife.
