There was a discussion on why Sita didn't go to Mithila. Now today's epi answered me that. What Sita now faced was a AP. More than the test of real fire, it was her need to prove herself, her self respect, her purity. Now if she goes to Mithila, yes royal palace will take her, even the people of Mithila might take her, but her child will grow up hearing the story how their father banished their mother. She is in her maayka because their father doesn't want her. See a child does not see the difference between raghunandan and Ram. It is the same for them. So for the child also certain assumptions are formed from childhood.

Whereas in the ashram the children doesn't know their identity, they are the children of vandevi. They grow up under the tutelage of Valmiki who teaches them Ramayana also till Ram coronation. Now for the children it is a very beautiful story. They don't know it is the story of their parents. So the story talks about Vaidehi taking AP to prove her purity and God of Agni certifying the purity. So for the children Vaidehi is purity personified. With this understanding they reach Ayodhya singing Ramayan and when they ask for Vaidehi they know she is banished. Now the children are angry. How can their murthi of purity be called impure. How can a woman for whom God of Agni vouch for be called impure by a dhobi or for that matter by any human. Are humans over and above God. This is where Sita wins. Ensuring her children only know what needs to be known and no negative thing comes to them about their father when their assumptions are getting shaped. She wins as a woman and she wins as a wife. Mithila couldn't have given her that secrecy to groom her children in the right direction. So she takes the trouble of staying in ashram and grooming them.

Now coming to luv and kush. How beautiful is their character. Kush is a free bird like his mother and Luv he talks about maryada like his father. Or rather he is more for bandhan, while Kush is about maryada. And look who takes the lead. Kush. Luv questions. But then for everything Kush has answers. And he answers using his mother's words only. He tells they are not going to do anything bad. So luv should not worry. Luv takes Sita's theortical lines, Kush applies Sita's knowledge. And I am sure in a metaphoric way CVs will show maryada will always lead bandhan, it will always help in breaking bandhan using these 2 brothers. And incidently luv is elder, kush is younger, still the metaphoric lead will belong to Kush though it may look Luv is taking lead.

That was one thing wrong with it. Kush was the elder son. Luv is the younger.

Luv is elder right Shrutha. kush actually is created from kush grass when luv is not seen in the cradle. Because he is created from kush grass he is called kush. There is a story like that also for luv-kush. That only luv was born, kush was created. And in all the versions I have read luv is elder, kush is younger.

In those versions, they say that. But in Valmiki Ramayana and Ramcharitmanas, both are born as twins, and Kush (meaning front part of the grass) is the elder one, while Luv (meaning back part of the grass) is the younger one.

Kush is the elder, Luv is the younger. It is written clearly in the epic.
That is why Kush received the portion of dakshin Kosala (Ram's kingdom) which had Ayodhya. He was the elder son and thus received the capital city as his inheritance.

It is misconception to say Ram only was bound by maryada, and Sita was a "free bird".

Ram and Sita were the same. If Ram was maryada purushotham, so was Sita. She complemented him in every way.

If Ram was the King of Ayodhya, then Sita was the queen. She too was bound by rules, she too was bound by maryada, and thus she assisted Ram in fulfilling his maryada.

Sanskriti, or maryada, is not negative by nature. It cannot be forced on someone. When it is forced, it becomes negative, but when a person chooses to follow their maryada, their duties, then it becomes positve.

Prakriti and Sanskriti co-exist together. Without one, the other cannot exist. Prakriti survives because Sanskriti protects it, and Sanskriti is enriched by Prakriti. Saying one is superior to the other is wrong. Human life cannot exist without Sanskriti. We cannot survive without rules to govern us as a society, and thus Sanskriti is just as important as Prakriti.

Ram and Sita too were equal. If Sita symbolizes Prakriti and Ram symbolizes Sanskriti, then they co-exist together. Neither one is superior to the other.

None of my posts say Prakriti is superior or Sanskriti is superior. All my posts have talked about co-existence only. And if people have read my posts from beginning in this thread they will understand I use maryada for the Prakriti's constant rules, which are the limits and bandhan for Sanskriti's changing rules according to the times.
Siya Ram were bound by limits, not by the rules of Sanskriti though they create the perception or Maya that they are bound by the rules.

Also this thread analyzes SKR screenplay and does not compare to any other version. So by reading one post, it is not right to draw conclusion on any of the posts in this thread. It had connection to many other posts.

And if there is a mistake with respect to the epic let us please do not discuss it in this thread. Shrutha this a specific request to you from my side. I have told earlier also. Please dont compare any other version in this thread. SKR is not a pure version, it is an amalgam of versions.
It takes a lot of effort for me and DD to keep this thread positive
