According to me ( guru )he leads us to God by bhakthi and service
A medium to reach God
So let me know urs

Guru provides us the right path to reach God, Sanjana ๐Ÿ˜Š
A person who already has established a divine relation with God only can lead others in the same path as his ๐Ÿ˜Š
But it is important to search for a good Guru. Nowadays anyone becomes a Guru ๐Ÿ˜†
And unless we become good Shishyas, we cant find the right Guru who will guide us to reach God ๐Ÿ˜Š

I am sorry about my endless doubts but when I was in Tu I was just clearing everybody's doubt but this medium I want to clear my doubts which keeeps popping up when I visit this page I don't feel like analysing but as a source of knowledge
This is about deva asur sangram devas were not perfect but no society is perfect but why did the gods support devas
reading shiva trilogy made me think this but are asuras really bad and the churning of ocean why did God let devas cheat asuras
And Indra can anybody give a character sketch

To understand why God allowed the devas to cheat the asuras, you need to understand my favorite point- Dharma is immortal, and Adharma last just for a lifetime. The devas symbolized Dharma here and the asuras symbolized Adharma. For stability to be maintained in the universe, the Dharma had to become immortal, and the Adharma could not become immortal. That is why God cheated the asuras by taking the form of Mohini. This is also the reason why God supported the devas, because Dharma needed to be immortal and protected.

Hope this helped!

Sanjana, please dont feel sorry about asking doubts. It is actually a very good sign. It shows your eagerness to learn something ๐Ÿ˜Š
Yes, Indra had also been at fault many times, but in my POV, Devas never wanted to be the Supreme power i.e greater than the Trimurthis but we have seen many Asuras wanting to become the Supreme power. Devas always learn from their mistakes but Asuras dont budge.

When Lord Krishna saved the people from Indra's wrath by holding the Govardhan, Indra had learnt his lesson. But even after Lord Krishna did the samhaar of the Asuras that Kamsa sent, he still couldnt recognise the Lord. Imagine, if Amrit was given to such type of an Asur, what will happen to the world. So the Asuras were deprived of Amrit ๐Ÿ˜Š

You may get a clear picture after everyone puts forth their views on this ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

Interesting discussion!!!!
Firstly,if we really go deeper, what is dharma and adharma???Or rather who made the rules and regulations of dharma and adharma
And every devta is not dharmic and every asur/rakshas is not adharmic... we have Indra-Ahalya incident which was clearly adharmic and we also have vibhishan, mandodari, prahlad who were the epitome of dharm..
Now coming to the main point,'What is bad??' Like Amish, even I think that the definition of bad changes from perspective to perspective.
And another thing, whenever we think of Rakshas/Asurs we often have the image of the rulers... we generally judge the whole clan or even the whole kingdom wrt the actions of the ruler... but what about the subjects or even the asur soldiers(i don't know what they are called)..why do we often view them as bad, aren't they doing their dharm as well by following orders but why do they recieve our curses as well?? Is it because they belong to the wrong side or are born on the wrong side????

Sorry,I do not mean to hurt anyone's sentiments..this is just my pov

Dharma and Adharma is complex to understand, but to understand them we have to understand Krishna and his teachings ๐Ÿ˜ƒ None other than Him can make us understand ๐Ÿ˜ณ

No worries, Ankita, everyone has freedom of speech here. In the Samudra Manthan, the asuras' main intention were to capture the three lokas and rule the world. At that time, they were overcome by ego and desire. So, if they were given amrit, then their ego would have increased and they would have wreaked havoc.

Dharma is your duty and the way you need to act and behave to fulfill it, and Adharma is what you should not be doing and the way to do that. These rules were made by the first human, Manu, on the command of God. God only created humans, we created rules and differences. And yes Aadhya, to understand the complexity of Dharma, we need to understand the Lord, for he is the protector of Dharma.

Many people are judge because of where they came from or from what family they came from, like Karna. This is wrong. And yes, the asura soliders were fulfilling their duty, but they were supporting the wrong side, that is why they are cursed. They could have quit the bad side and come to the good, but they didn't. Vibhishan came to Ram, that is why he is not cursed because he knew right and wrong.

Bad does change as the circumstances and perspective changes, good point!

Hope this helps!

Maha Vishnu made the rules of Dharma and Adharma.
It depends on the world. Are you doing good for the world?then it is Adharma.
They are doing their Dharma. The Asura soldiers. But when one Asura does something Adharma, then. The entire clan pays. The same with Devas. Didn't Indra get cursed?

They are fighting for injustice, aren't they? Did Vibhishan or Prahlad do it? How many times did Mandodari warn Ravan to return SitatoRam? Ravan destroyed his clan. It all depends on how you look at it Ankita?
