@vrish
Even the sugreev vali plot is botched up as regards the timeline

sugreev waited for nearly an year outside cave before he sealed it and returned back to become the king

Then vali returned back and re took the throne

It was several years after this that Sita's abuction took place , verses in valmiki ramayana confirm this timeline

I think I've figured out this show. Earlier ones were about the physical confrontation b/w Ravan & Rama. This one is about the metaphysical confrontation b/w Ravan & Sita, as well as Rama & Shurpi 😈😆

Vrish, bestest comment ever!! 😆😆😆

Just imagine - the pravachan exchange will be a complete jackpot for the 'Seeta's deer diaries' page on the main forum...imagine the glorious material!!

Speaking of deer diaries, check out my Masterchef Panchavati story for today 😆 In terms of material, the serial gives me stiff competition, just as SPK gives stiff competition to my |}The Priyamvada Chronicles{|

Today's episode - I agree w/ Harani in that Sita had a very disdainful attitude towards not just Lakshman, but Rama as well, when they were volunteering to cook. The whole episode w/ the cooking was rather slapstick. Although Rama's cooking reminded me of the first time I cooked daal a few months ago, when I overdid the water. And forgetting salt is no big deal - one can always add it to the food while eating, if it's less. But what Rama did here - put a huge amount of salt into that pot - was likely to make it oversalted.

But more seriously, what was the serial trying to show? After all, once Sita was abducted, Rama & Lakshman wandered for several months b4 they ran into Sabari & Sugreev. Yeah, for much of the time, they may have lived on berries, but does one think that they never cooked? Yeah, Sugreev's army might have had their own royal cooks, but I find it hard to believe that RL couldn't cook.

I didn't get who the shadowy figure who came into Ravan's court in the end was. Any ideas?

Precap has Vibheeshan criticizing Shurpi for going after Rama despite knowing that he was already married

@Vrish - When Sugriv commands his army to go in all four directions in search of Sita (after the monsoons), Shri Ram wonders how he knows such details.. (he gives very detailed directions). It is then that Sugriv confesses that he ran so far off in order to escape Vaali's wrath but forgot that he had a place near home that was much safer. On remembering the fact he took protection in Rishyamukh thus finishing his years of flight.

BTW I felt that Madi really needs to tone down her accusing tone when she is conversing with Lakshman. Today when Lakshman told her that they would cook and she should take a break, isn't Sita supposed to atleast attempt to smile and ask if Lakshman who always liked her food suddenly had turned averse to it? 😕 Instead she was again very irritated and took offense.

Guys don't mistake me as this one question is throbbing me ever since the trio came to forest. Weren't they suppose to eat raw food and not cooked one? then how come our lady love always try to tell them she will cook a delicious food for them by the time they finish their bath? when they were eating only the fruits, what was she cooking?

That's actually a good question, since all the cooking that Sita was renowned for was in Ayodhya. That's where you have Sita ka rasoi, where she cooked the first time she entered as a bride. In that era, people did mainly live on fruits & berries.

Not to be controversial here, but since they all were Kshatriyas, it was legitimate for them to hunt and have meat. Occasionally they would either hunt down wild animals, or fish, and that would be the only thing that Sita could have cooked. It's not like Lakshman would go to the nearest village to get a sack of rice, which Sita would then boil, contrary to what is depicted in serials & movies.

No I am not agaist Sita's cooking or them eating cooked food. Even I was under the impression till this show that they would have hunt and ate also. But it was Sita who promised Kaikeyi that they will live on fruits and roots. It was sita who explained to Guha that they don't eat cooked food but they will have fruits given by him. Then how come suddenly she started cooking after reaching Panchvati?

That's a good question. Maybe we should read the T&C of their exile to see what they were allowed to have and what they weren't.

Incidentally, what you're describing above - is it Valmiki or other sources (e.g. Tulsi)? Or are you talking about Sita's promise to Kaikeyi in this serial?

@ Vrish, I am completely talking about this Sita's promise to Kaikeyi while kaikeyi talked about the sanctity of the cloths they were wearing (indirectly advising them to follow celibacy). So the CVs who gave Sita those words should remember what they have made her to spell and follow that.

Oh, okay, I had somehow skipped that part of the serial. Usually, in Ramayans, I skip that and start directly w/ Dasharath narrating the Shravan Kumar story, and Bharat reading Kaikeyi the riot act.

Jaya, you are absolutely right. Sita probably cooked meat from the hunt and then they lived on fruits and berries in the forest.
In this version we see Shri Ram even go to rebuild a village which would never have happened as Ram vowed not to leave the forest. He sends Lakshman to Sugriv just because of that.

The writers have taken hunting off of the vanvaas to cater to our sensibilities probably. So Sita would only be cooking roots etc., not rice and daal😆
