I have always been a little conflicted about the meaning of destiny{especially when I have to explain it to my kids}.For me destiny has always been about choices, whether they were taken as an impulse or after considerate deliberation. Ramayan seems to prominently endorse this idea. Dashrath choose to let loose the arrow that killed an innocent man, though unwittingly, resulting in a series of incidents, ending with his death. He choose to let the fear of the curse overshadow him so completely that when it came true ,he lost the will to face it with fortitude. Kaikeyi choose to exercise her right to demand her boon even with the knowledge of the shadow of devastation hanging over her head. Ram choose to accept her demands as a king's as well as a father's promise to be fulfilled. Laksman and Sita choose to accompany him knowing the perils of the 14 year journey. Urmila choose to let her husband go keeping her grief aside. Bharath choose to denounce his mother's actions and her ambition for him. He choose his love for his brother over all her plots that had resulted in this chaos. He with love, devotion and renunciation of power would choose to set right all the injustices against his family. Every choice whether it brought them grief or happiness, victory or defeat...was it their destiny??

This epi will make you appreciate the concept, characters and actors.Bharat, what a sympathetic character he is?
Reminds me of the situation where a person gets to pay the price of other's mistakes. With praja,he was like the person who doesnt even get the opportunity to explain his part.
Bharat's fault was that he was loved to extreme by Manthara.Rather moh.
Even Kaikeyi, because of her one mistake, one misconcept, one brainwashing by Manthara, had to face centuries' eternal curses. It may be niyati who chose Kaikeyi to play that significant role.Maybe God knew only this queen had the guts to take so much of blame and pressure.
Manthara's dialogue,"lakshya ke itne sameep aake hum koi bhul naa kar baithe!"
Ever wondered that what are we doing is totally right?Maybe what you think is right, may be terribly wrong for everyone.Did Kaikeyi's heart not warned her once?See what influence people have on our personality.Suppose a person like KK,gets misguided by a teacher like Manthara, reaches a harmful point.Isnt it man's necessity to act with his 'vivek'?
Powerful were Bharat's dialogues.
The one where he said 'Janam lete hi mere praan kyu nahi le liye aapne'something.Sujey did it really well.
Bharat and Mandavi, standing beside them was Shatrughan in the last scene was so relatable to SiRa and Laksh.Same life, different duties and paths. The only diff was the first trio were in Ayodhya and with their families.

Sorry for this blunder!I had been in a rush.I must have written Rather Lobh and clarified it.
Manthara wanted power,to keep up her position,in the name of her love for Bharat.

Sangeetha, Dasharatha counted all his failings which were related to kaikeyi and Shanta was not one such thing. He gave vachan to Kaikeyi's father, he neglected his 2 wives in his love or lust for Kaikeyi and for that he sought forgiveness from the 2 whom he wronged. He doesn't consider Shanta's thyag as his fault as he got his favorite son due to that thyag and fro that he feels pride.
Though I loved the episode as a whole and actors emotions to the core, I just have a little uneasiness when they showed Ram sitting next to Dying Dasharath and he infact closing his eyes (though in Dasharath's delusion mind). That was too emotional but with that don't you think he had a peaceful end than the one he was supposed to have a painful one as per the Shrap?
that is true..but he asked for atonement..he realised his mistakes.one of his major mistake, he sacrificed both of kaushalaya's kids and that needed acknowledgement is what i meant.

@savitha I only know that it is always better to start with choices. With a view what I do or the action is in my control. But as a person who has travelled in this direction a bit, I understand that you are part of larger scheme of things and world or nature expects something from you. You get clues to that expectation. Whether to meet it or not is again your choice. But interestingly even if you go away from it , even if you don't choose it with freewill, you will be brought to a point where you have to choose that path. Now since I know the expectations instead of unnecessarily suffering I choose the option with freewill. I will have to do it. And believe me nature does support you in that path.
So somewhere I feel the path is fixed. Some are able to find it, some are unable to. And I feel for everyone nature has kept the path for greatness, of self discovery, of finding inner peace but then no one looks at that unique path nature has created for the individual. We end up following others, have sufferings where nature is asking us change direction, we don't, we continue and end up in miseries all together.
For me destiny is to understand your unique path in life, just like your unique finger print and follow that path.

very good episode.what I really like about SKR is their screenplay, they have a balanced one .They don't stretch emotional scenes and confrontation to the point of Melodrama,It was like Bharat's words were heard ,felt and had impact instead of some screaming taking the edge away.
So Kaikeyi had her comeuppance today. One would see people like her in everyday life, people brainwashed by others .These are people who deserve pity as they destroy their life with their own hands and feel the world around has wronged them when the result of the action turns against them,

It was Mandvi who told Bharat. So husband and wife start the journey of rectifying the mistakes which were not committed by them.we have a phrase in Tamil about how the sins committed by parents make the children pay up to correct them.Sad but true.parents need to careful on what wealth we leave for our kids- whether it is value structures with punya or sinful actions with Karma debt. Bharat is the unlucky one carrying the load of his mother's action .Mandavi will willingly shoulder this load with Bharat to lessen his pain.

Shruthi ,it is indeed ,a path that has been ordained for each one of us.But it always begins with the choices you take in this path ,that shapes up its shape and size, basically only the length of the journey is fixed with our birth, isn't it? We can go along with the flow or can go against the current...but our ultimate destination is fixed...that is why I feel that the meaning of destiny is more complex than it seems to be...I remember watching a movie some time ago ,it starts with a man running after a bus-the whole movie gets divided with 2 options-One the series of incidents that happen when he succeeds in getting aboard the bus and the other set of scenarios follow on his failure to do the same. An interesting concept to brood about.

@Savitha yes it is the choices we take. I know the movie you are telling. What I want to highlight is that if we stray from destiny's path, destiny will bring you to that path one way or the other. You can either reach straight, or you can reach roundabout taking many side ways, trying to avoid that path in multiple ways.
Classic case is I always say I wanted to be a lawyer, but under certain circumstances I decided B-Tech was the right choice for me at that time. I don't regret it because B-Tech was my choice. But interesting point is to the one who wanted to study the law of land, ended up studying the law of nature. I wanted to defend those people who are denied justice in court, in a way I am defending people in life supporting them to open up and chase their dreams who are tied down with social prejudices and limitations. So the fact I will defend someone didn't change, only the way it happened changed because of my choice.
I have personal experience in multiple levels and now I can observe patterns also in life. It's a little complex, but when we introspect we will understand this phenomenon. Actually it has made me more curious😆😆 to understand it. Not sure whether I will succeed. But I am trying

Bharat today was overflowing with emotions , just like water , he didn't knew the destination , he could not express , he could remain silent .
And mandvi supported him , just like when water ahead , we have to dry it .
The fire had to dry it.

Shruthi di will wait
