Okay, this is about that scene where Sita takes the bow and shoots an arrow to shoot the bird/asura to save that kid..
now what still bothers me is the kid fell due the gravitational force of earth.. right? Now, Sita who knows prakriti so well, esp. the earth since she supposedly came from earth, such a basic phenomenon as gravity of earth should be ingrained in her mind/consciousness..

we discussed this scene in details from different angles but i still could not push it out of my mind as a closed discussed. it was as if something was really niggling at me.. something dint gel, in spite of all explanations by u all. i realized this reason only a couple of days back..this is what was bothering me so much - how can Sita disregard gravity even for a nanosecond?

Hi Shruthi, Shirley :)

Shruthi, fantastic analysis 👏👏
That is why I strive to find peace within myself. Once I do that, external pleasures don't matter. I remember us talking a while ago about Gauri and Shakti, and how they manifest in women depending on the situation.
Mahakali is, of course, when Mata Parvati is at her saturation point.
The loving Gauri holds the family together, the angry Shakti destroys the evil everywhere, and brings back good.
A woman is like that. She has a more sensitive and loving approach compared to men (I am not including Krishna here, for He is one and all). That is why the male and female way of thinking is involved. A woman is a mother, one who has endless patience and love for all her children, and will always hold the family together. A man who is a father, is stern and loving.
But beyond a point, men let their children be, while mothers don't. That is the difference.

Sorry for the rant.

She was more emotional at that point, I think. When you are emotional, you loose your logical thought process. Isn't that the case. The mother in Sita was activated, thus, she forgot about the most important aspect, the gravitational pull. She realised it too late.

@DD all the best for exam. Hopefully we will open a new thread this week itself. 😃
@Srutha the lotus symbolism was simply beautiful. And the jasmine flowers surpi gives to Sita, they are half burned. For me it felt like the fresh jasmine flowers will fall in Sanskriti and when Sita comes back after understanding Sanskriti she will be same, yet not the same. The Gauri in her will also have Kali.
@Shirley the basic of gravity is that if anything goes above it will have to come down and it is only matter of time. Bhumija understands Prakriti, but her heart does not understand what goes up, has to come down. Or rather you cant take extreme protection always. Something has to be destroyed. The way she dealt with Asura ladies and then questioning Ram is he so sure that she killed only the adharmi asuras. The Asura child says his father had gone to get him food. Does she understand the food of Asuras can be humans also. Nothing cannot be extreme. Even if it is Prakriti. She is taking Prakriti's nurturing to the extreme. That happened in that scene also. She wanted to protect the child. But what after protection. How to protect, whom to protect, when to protect, what to protect there is not distinction for her at this point. And answers to all this come from understanding Prakriti through the lens of Sanskriti.

maybe u r right to a certain extent... in fact i have to admit that on first reading ur reply, i was nodding my head - yes that's it, but then i imagined the following scenario:

suppose i m trying to run away from danger, say a wild animal chasing me, or a truck wanting to kill me(sorry about this filmy scene), suddenly, i reach a cliff.. now not just the foremost thing but the only hing i can think of at that moment is that certain death (either a wild animal or a truck) is at my heels, and i m just at the edge of the cliff. would i pause to think for a second? or will i continue running as if the cliff is no big deal? wouldnt the thought occur to methat if i take a single step ahead, i will go over the cliff in the valley, lake or whatever is below, dropping dead?

i am not sure if i have been able to put across my point in a manner thats easy to understand or not.. but i hope u get my point
