Thanks a lot DD for the numbers. I want to write more on numbers. But will come to that. When Sita says the lotus flowers are withered I knew that they will be the ones touched by Surpi. And today they showed the flowers withering in surpi's hand. Not withering, but burning. And Surpi takes the anger at the flowers.
And Sita she takes flowers and the flowers flourish in her hand. What is the difference between 2 woman. Why flower flourishes in one hand and while it burns in another's hand. As I said yesterday lotus is the symbol of prosperity the flower in which sits Mahalakshmi.
Burning of Lotus signifies the place where a woman like surpi exists that place will be devoid of wealth and power. Or rather she will burn the wealth and power there.
But is it surpi's fault alone that it happens or her ecosystem is also responsible. This is where Aginpareeksha of Sita gains significance. Because that lotus burning has lot to do with surpi's ecosystem and the way surpi dealt with it and Sita's greatness can come only when she is send in such an ecosystem.
Look at Sita. She is a woman who has been loved and respected lot at her home. She is Janak's pride and sunaina's dulari. Cut to her sasural once again she is Ram's pride, love of Kausalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra, And in vanvass Ram and Lakshman does everything in their power to keep her happy. She is respected and loved. Sita has grown in an environment of love, moved to a environment of love and infact she has never experienced an ecosystem devoid of love. What Kaikeyi did didn't affect her much as she is with Ram and also Bharath removed all the problems that came with her. Once again the power of love was proved to her. So Sita believes in true love and her ecosystem has made her always believe in true love. A path of duty.
Look at Surpi. She has grown up in an environment with restrictions. If Sita was given knowledge and knew her maryada, surpi had no access to knowledge but only restrictions. And she broke the bandhan once and married a man. But the truth that the man never loved her and had used her made her lose faith in true love. For her everything is material, something to be used for attaining some personal gratification. Even the lotus flowers she is not coming to them to enjoy their beauty or use them in any appropriate way, she just need lotus flowers as a means to satisfy her lust. The fire of desires is burning inside surpi, her need to satisfy the desires, use all the means that is available to her for that purpose as that is what she has seen in lanka. And the fire of desire in a woman, burns her and her kul one way or the other. It is the fire of Mahatwakamsha a need to get power which is denied to her in Lanka that makes surpi do what she is doing.
It happens with Kaikeyi. The need of power. The need to feel in control. But she is shown her place by Bharath. But surpi, surpi will make use of the vachan Ravan gave her to get her enticing toy. And result vinash.
Now let us come to Sita. Sita is taken to surpi's ecosystem. She is kept as a captive in Lanka. She is in a very hostile environment. Instead of love, she sees all type of desires around. She will see adharma in all forms. She will be emotionally tortured using many methods. When Sita gives the AP it is the proof that the fire of the ecosystem in Lanka has not been absorbed by Sita. Even that fire raged outside, her heart was always surrendered to Ram. His love. Her faith in love. She reflects the ecosystem. Surpi absorbed the ecosystem and her actions became black. Sita reflects the ecosystem and her actions became white.
It clearly shows a woman with the right knowledge whichever ecosystem you put her in, she will not succumb to the ecosystem as she knows what is right and what is wrong. Such a woman will always take the pride of her family to a new height. When she comes out of AP it is not only Ram's love that is vindicated, but also Janaka's pride. She calls herself Janaknandini and wife of Ram when she is in Lanka.
As I said lotus blooms in mud, but it stands above mud. Even in the hostile terrain of Lanka, Sita blooms like a lotus, and even in the beautiful loving terrain of Panchavati Surpi burns with desire.
Keeping women away from right knowledge, denying their rights to them will one day make a Kaikeyi or a surpi take the extreme step bringing down the fall of a family, its culture. Ramayan shows it very clearly.
SKR once again highlights the importance of education of a girl child. Because in her education lies the benefit of 2 families.
Now cut to Ravan-Bali fiasco. Ravan says in direct battle the opponent's adisakthi comes to bali. So he knew the only way to defeat Bali is by doing indirect attack. Bali's lack of knowledge is that people can do indirect battle with him as that is the only way to defeat him. Because Ram does the same. Mistake of Meghanad as I said is he put the strategy in motion when both brother's were together. He separates the brothers. But the benefit of that separation is going for Ram as Ram attacks Bali when he had one brother solidly by his side.
Now Meghnad. I loved his line. I wanted to be a good son to you. He wanted to meet all of his father's expectation. And what does Ravan say. I want a good minister. Once again we see Meghnad valuing relation, while Ravan he is just checking the usefulness of the material for him. For Meghand Ravan is his father, but for Ravan Meghnad is something which he will have till he has the use of it.
