That was a bad piece of writing making Raavan compare his son to a dog. Comparing Surpi to a cat was still ok. She really could manipulate others to listen to her and cared only for her vengeance while she showed her brother the path to ruin by inciting him to kidnap Sita.. But the dog reference was in bad taste.
Raavan indeed was selfish but he had great respect for his eldest son who was an apple in his eye.

Did like that the pasamalar Raavan has been waved bye-bye.

The Sugriv-Ruma marriage finally concludes and Sugriv is all set with the blessings from Gandarv Raaj. They have tied that track up happily.

Now to the major distortions...

1) Jatayu does not come to the ashram to attack the trio. He is of course old and hence confesses that he is not as strong as before (he was King Dasharath's contemporary and has lived years) but the only thing Jatayu tells Shri Ram, Sita and Lakshman is to call upon him in case of any trouble., He also assures them that he would watch over them during their stay in Panchavati (which he does with so much courage during Sita Haran, earning his place in Moksha)

2. There would be meat in the cottage of Shri Ram, Sita and Lakshman. They were non-vegetarians. It is written in Valmiki Ramayan that they killed deer during their first gruhapravesh as good luck. So to make Lakshman ask how to feed Jatayu is kind of out of the blue. 😕

3. Sampati with Jatayu.. This is completely different from Ramayan. Sampati and Jatayu of course are brothers (sons of Aruna, Garuda's brother). After the adventure/misadventure with flying near the sun, the brothers are separated. Jatayu thinks his brother Sampati is dead (saving him by shielding him from the sun's rays) and Sampati, highly injured cannot fly any longer and is confined to a mountain down south near the ocean.

Sampati comes way down in the story and he helps guide the group of vaanars (Hanuman, Angad and Jambhavan) who have been sent south by Sugriv to find where Sita has been hidden by Raavan. The vaanars lose heart not finding Sita and reaching the ocean and they discuss giving up their life in Shri Ram-Sita cause just like Jatayu. Sampati hears them and enquires about his brother, realizes that Jatayu is dead, gives his history, explains that he has kept himself alive only to serve Shri Ram and tells the vaanars about Lanka and where Sita is hidden (Vultures can see long distances) thus fulfilling his destiny as told by his sage friend who kindly restores his sight but requests Sampati to remain until he does this particular service to Shri Ram.

I guess they would cut this part out as Sampati is already with Jatayu..

BTW , I did like the Lakshman-Sita co-ordination today😊 They seemed more in sync than before.

The convo pretty good and looked more at ease with each other

The only thing i found out of place in that scene was Sita making herself as a bait😆

Much improvement in raavan's portrayal as villain...dts how a relatable villain should be and not like some funny person with typical laugh as shown in local raam-leelas and in many previous adaptations of ramayan 👏 ...and would also give more meaning to his vadh by lord ram

shivam, sita was actualy the bait for raavan, agar raavan sita mata ke prati akarshit hi nahi hotaa toh uskaa vadh hota kaise?

Not just odd but plain cheap when it comes to dialogue- this is Ramayan and in that time period courtesy and politeness were the crux of conversations even with enemies let alone relatives and this with his own son- come on- no one among the intelligent viewing public would digest it.
