Guys when he compared his sister & Son to the pets, he was not degrading them but was highlighting their nature. Meghanadh is too faithful and will never ever question his father's decision or will try to analyze his actions. For him his father is the ultimate and anyone who goes against him will have face his wrath. This nature to safe guard will cover up the whole family. that's already been exhibited when the man was punished for bad mouthing his aunt but his initial loyalty will stay with his father only. Even now, the way he marched after his father's nod indicates that he make the necessary arrangements to watch out for these 3 humans who have dared his aunt's mayavi shakthi.

Whereas Ravan compared his beloved sister to cat not because she was screaming but because she has a personality of her own and will try to hurt anyone who will harm her. A cat with kittens is a very good example for this. the cat will not let even it's master to venture near its kittens and will try to scratch him or her if they dared to cross her boundary. That is same nature Shurpanakha showed during her husband's death and also now when her brother asked her to be in control.

Jaya , You are correct that he was just comparing the nature , but that scene could have been executed better in terms of dialogue selection.

how will it feel for a son to hear his father say " My son listens to my every wish , he is as faithful as my dog " . This was a cheap comment to say the least from raavan.

It looked very disrespectful

completely agree with all of u, the use of the Dog was completely unnecessary.

the comparison could have been made in a very different manner to portray faithfulness.

Seems like a dialog from a daily soap villain.

Jack fruit is supposed to taste like meat on adding to dishes and can be used as a substitute for meat when using non veg recipes with veg substitutes. I have no idea if it works.
