This was the line of the day for me. I call it synchronocity of life. Things that are not in your control, allow them to happen on its own. Because it is those events that will lead you to your destiny.
In a nutshell what it signifies is in any situation there are things in your control and things out of your control.
Many times people who want to change their destiny go behind things that are not in their control. If you want to change your destiny, even if you want to change the effect of your past karma you have to take actions on what is in your control.

I can give simple examples. You are asked to attend a job interview. What is in your control. Preparing for the interview and attending it.
What is not in your control. Whether you get the job or not.

Many times thinking whether they will get the job or not people dont even attend the interview.Time wasted on something that is not in our control.

Going to attend a function. What is in your control. The costume and jewellery you need to wear. What is not in your control whether others will like your outlook. In thinking what other people will say people come in outfits in which they are uncomfortable, jewellery and make up looks jarring and what happens people dont praise you. If you wear something appropriate in which you are comfortable people will judge you much more positively.

These are simple things. Now look at what Manthara, Dasrath, Kaikeyi is doing.

What is in the control of Manthara to earn the good will. To be in the good books of the future king of Ayodhya, that is Ram. She can do that. But is making Bharat king in her control. Neither it is in Kaikeyi's control. Because no one is asking the party in question here what he wants. They just assume injustice happening to him and take decision. Net result their worst fears come true

Dasrath, what is in his control accept the curse gracefully, what is not in his control changing the curse in his own way. He goes for latter. Result again bad.

That's why Vashisth said to Ram allow things to happen. Because it is not Ram-Sita who should tell Kaikeyi about coronation. But Dasrath. As far as they go what is in their control is obey the orders of the king.

So next time in your life also in every situation analyze what is in your control, what is not in your control. Take action only on what is in your control.

'A person has the right towards action alone and not towards the fruit of action. Let not the fruit of action be the motive for acting 'says the Lord in Gita. Dashrath to circumvent his greatest fear, takes an action without consulting his family, though he knows that at least one member will not be happy at this. Ram's voice of reason is ignored by the king as he is unable to hear anything beyond the cacophony of his own fears. Result -chaos!
kaikeyi is wallowing in her own misguided sense of outrage at what she perceives as a promise broken by the King. This leads to her mind becoming a fertile ground for Manthra's poison. She hears ,but it is the evil person, which makes her forget her immense love for Ram and sets her on the wrong path. Result: devastation!
Manthra 's own insecurities and her irrational hatred leads her to plot against the king's decision. In this she gets an ally and she doesn't go beyond her fear for her destiny ,to even comprehend the far reaching result of her actions. Result: Her own destruction.
The three qualities of fear, irrational expectations and our own insecurities ,are the evils we have to overcome to reach Ram.
Shruthi liked your post a lot for its sense. Your examples were easy to understand as they are a part of us,
Savita

@Shruthi: Good topic. Yes, there are certain things which we cant change, its better to accept the same and shine in that given path. Always gurus are the good instructors (I am talking about vedic period 😆), they know what to say at what point of time. When circumstances gives option, we can think and choose but in certain demanding situation simply adopt the upcoming happenings and face it with confidence.

During the first year of my UG, I refused my friend to go for inter-collegiate competition. I told her, all these competition are pre-fixed and they will give the prizes for only those among their groups and friendly college. Basically I wanted to enjoy my week end w/o attending it 😆. My true friend who always wished good for me 😉 told the same to my HOD. HOD mam called me and asked " If you should be the winner always why others participated in your competition? Winning is not important but participating is more valuable which gives opportunity for u to learn out of the box."

So for me, Guru basically asked Ram to take up the challenge and face the problem. Let it happen what is in the path but tune it in a way where you can learn more and achieve more.

I feel sorry for manthara and kaikeyi, if they knew this, they could have lead a happy life. It could have been easy for them to deal with Ram rather than Bharath which they failed to understand because of no proper guru. guidance.
So girl children should be properly educated is the bottom line.😊

Yes savitha bg we know. But it is to bring in practice I made action in control and not in control. Because we have to concentrate on action. Which action. The one week can control. Because we need to satisfy our ego and we want something in control. Only thing learn to differentiate what is in control and what is not.@ ramya don't be cynical. Do what we can and leave the rest.being cynical stops our growth. We don't see a different pov

Dashrath in his fear to loose his son (distancing) started the action to coronate him overnight (sorry he started his action right in the morning with meetings) and thought by coronation of Ram he can keep him with him in the palace of Ayodhya. In that hurry he had forgotten to update his plan to his wives or thought it is not so important to inform them at a much later stage. At that moment all he cared was the coronation and doesn't bother to alert the family or his praja and he treated it as a private affair than a public celebration. He didn't want to waste any time in securing his son's binding to the palace and ayodhya and so, only after the start of proceedings, he thought about his wives and till such time he saw kaikeyi at the door steps of his room, he had completely forgotten about his vachan to Ashwapathi or the fact that once kaikeyi talked about his vachan to her father.

On the face of it, he conveniently accepted the fact that Kaikeyi had apologized to him and stopped talking about Bharath's entitlement to the throne as her failure and his success and that is the mere reason, he thought about granting one more wish to her in his hour of joy to make her happy or like giving a chocolate to a crying child to avert its mind from from certain toy. Least did he knew that his that act will cost him his life and his state.
Its not just king Dashrath who ignored his wives in his happiness about Ram's coronation, even Lakshman did the same. he could have alerted his wife who is also the sister of his Bhabi who had the right to happiness about her sister's coronation. Nor did anyone thought about other two princesses and at the least, Kausalya or Sumithra could have sent words for Kaikeyi before confronting their husband which would have saved them some grace but no, no one could do so as it was against the fate and the fate was hovering over the Ayodhya palace like a black shadow which was ready to engulf the happiness and gale of Ayodhya.
