Maan Swabhiman Abhimaan Ahankaar ...
What is the difference between these ?

Maan - respect - to give maan to someone - is to give respect to someone, irrespective of their status in life, or their position

Like Rama giving maan to that old lady, whose fields he was working in - even though he is a prince, he respects his hosts, respects the fact that farming is almost sacred to Mithila, and gives maan to the land and the people of the land

Swabhiman - self respect - not to get intimidated by someone's superiority of bal or dhan, to maintain your dignity throughout, in the face of adversity - Sita's conversation with Malyavan, the silent dignity with Janak and Kushadhwaj etc behave in front of Ravana.

Both maan and Swabhiman are positive feelings and mean respect for self and others

Abhimaan - pride - here the feelings border on negative - when we act with pride and differentiate between people based on their station in life, or based on feelings of superiority - Dashratha - when he talks of keeping distance from ordinary people - kekeyi - also shows abhiman in large amounts

And of course the worst of these is Ahankaar - an asuri pravritti- when people have an exaggerated sense of self importance and believe themselves to be invincible and above law.
Their Abhimaan is based on shallow superiority of wealth, money, position, family than on real attributes of values and personal qualities .

Ravana has been displaying these in plenty - he epitomises the saying - power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely

This was the gyan of the day,

As for the episode - total 10/10 episode !

Sita looks really very very beautiful

Ravana with his super ego was maha entertaining - the man is so full of himself that he even had the gall to tell Mahadev that it's God's privilege to have a Bhakt like Ravana - I am loving all the Ravana scenes - he is super entertaining with his king size arrogance

And of course - Rama ji ke darshan hue aaj - he looked too good, and the scene in the field was very endearing-

So dekho dekho dekho - full on mazedaar episode today - thanks to handsome and wonderful Rama and beautiful lovely Sita and total Tashan of Ravana !

.Raavan is example of those who think...that this universe to me as i have born into this world i have done a great...thing so if i have done that so the universe now in return has to give my karzzz...😕..(In form of anything)

Raavana ----to whom u are disgarding and challenging the one who brought...u into the universe...like seriously kidooo grow up ...😆😆😆

Mahadev will be like -----murkh tu bhul gaya hai tu agar saab ka baap hai to mein tera baap hun(sorry for language ) but cant help it out..

and most irony-''-jitney jarrorat meri appko hai utni hi aapko meri...''

again---Mahadev...aha mera pass to kuch kaam hai nahin ki teri bhakti ki shakti ka hissab karun beth ke..🥱

sorry i am in great joy mode now because i am ...just drooling over the dialouge writer i must say they are doing fab job👏..

Great post dear👏

and for ram --- tum dil ki dhadkan me rehtey ho rehto ho and the field sceneee ahaaa😳

@Arschics ...wonderfully summarized...
The episode was beautifully paced and once again brought into fore the stark contrast between various characters ...
Karthick as raavan is amazing...sita was so beautiful and the BG with ram sorrounded by people of mithila with utter devotion and respect in their eyes was so soothing...

Kudos to the team for a nice prelude to syamvaar

That's a great take on Ravana, antika, and he totally deserves this kind of sadak chaap language because deep down he comes across as a total goonda!

Yes the dialogue writers have done a great job and the Ravana scenes are really well written to create a sense of revulsion for him!

I can't wait to see his flop show at the swayamvar !

I must say that the direction team is great at creating the right atmosphere - the larger than life OTT scenes with Ravana are contrasting so beautifully with the serenity of Rama's scenes - Ravana can't has this in your face flaunting of his strength and wealth and on the other hand, Rama is humility personified, there is so much he has achieved and so many people who's life he has transformed with his kindness, but he simply lets that pass by, that one can't help but admire the quiet strength of Rama and feel disgusted with the rudeness of Ravana !

@Arshics mast post. After a long time I am enjoying a villian to the core. Ravan is completely mast and his dialogues shows all the power and arrogance.
And once again they showed the contrast of Ram and Ravan. Ravan wants Dhanush. Ram he respects the soil Janaki was born, respects the culture she was bought up. Everyday he is getting endearing to the people of Mithila.
I am loving the way they are setting up Ram's character. You know that guy jise dekhte hi papa will want him as son in law, mama will do laad pyaar, sisters will enjoy the time with him. The one you want in the family.

And last but not the least Sita telling in mind. Wo aayenge. hai hai she is already addressing him as her husband.

Your post is very beautiful, its saying the truth of the episode
U know that today when I was watching SKR scene where Raavan talks with Mahadev Like u need me Mahadev not i need u so my mom said that it was his Ahankaar only that made him lose the swayamwar whereas i didn't liked that scene also where he rudely talks with kushaldhwaj, I was like tu toh swayamwar main aakar bohot bada kaam kiya hai and he dosen't know that our Sita dosen't want gold but wants respect, love, care which only Ram can give.
Today when I was watching the scene where Siya enters I don't know if only i felt like this or someone else also did that all rajas were only having lust for her and that their eyes were telling when they were giving her lustful looks.
Whereas when Ram met her it was not that he didn't got mesmerised by her beauty but he was not having lust and was giving her respect and even in the cliff scene he didn't make her feel uncomfortable and casted her looks but in a different manner
Now I am waiting for the mment when they will get arried looking forward totheir marriage
Sita was just looking like apsara and Ram was just...Kya kahe???

With Lots Of Love,
Anushka
