As and when Karthik is able to deliver his dialogues well, we would probably see the Shiv Bhakti come out.. I am not so sure of the Mandodari part of it.. maybe when some backstory of Raavan is shown?

The Shiv Bhakti piece, we can be rest assured for the the dialogues are pretty well leading to that.. Even in Lanka, Raavan's dialogues while lacking in humility certainly rang true to the deep devotion he had.. so yeah.. we may get there sometime.

BTW, can I just say that the CVs did make up for the previous scene at Ayodhya where Kaikeyi convinced everyone that the Swayamvar should not be attended by Ram.. Today Dasharath said what I felt he should have previously said in that scene.. Raja Janak was a great king and King Dasharath and the queens wholeheartedly accepted the 4 girls into their lives. So hopefully Dasharath voicing the fact that he would have sent Rishi VIshwamitra a note to send Shri Ram for the Swayamvar is heartening.

Yes, Karthik does need a little more improvement in some aspects, including dialogue delivery, but he just started shooting so I have faith that he'll improve quickly. Ashish and Madirakshi too improved after their initial scenes.

As for Ravan's characterization, I too agree that I'd like to see different shades of his character. He had genuine love for Mandodari, despite his crimes against other women, and here I can't see his love for Mandodari. He and Mandodari had their own love story, and I'd like to see the CVs touch upon that. They had their misunderstandings, but they also had a deeper connection than Ravan had with any other woman in his harem.

I'm actually surprised with the CVs. Usually, modern day mythos like to show the negative characters as "gray shaded" but here, CVs are making Ravan out and out evil.

About JK,his acting and screenpresence is terrific. He has yet to improve a bit on his dialogue delivery which he definitely will in the upcoming episodes.

They have touched one aspect of Ravan's character here.About Ravan and Mandodari,I wish to learn more about them.I wish to learn about their story.

As far as Ravan's characterization is concerned,we all know that he was egoistic and all that. But the way he behaved with Janak today,do you think that this is how the original Ravan would have done?

I wish to see a softer side of Ravan when it comes to his devotion for Lord Shiva.Because that is one of the most genuine thing about him.I have seen the videos in which Arvind Tiwari and Akhilendra Mishra who played Ravan recite the stotra. You could see the devotion in their eyes.

Maybe JK's dialogue delivery problems are due to the fact that he is not used to speaking in Hindi. He will come around eventually.

Jk accent is very Kannada actually. But he seems larger than life has good screen presence. Body language is very good.He will settle sheen to a better flow soon.
But yes I would like him to softer when he talks to Shiva

I have heard a bit about that book. Its central character was Urmila, right? So,I guess Urmila must have been the wisest?😆

She was the wisest of all, mature of all, and also became a scholar as per the book... Typical of KK to make her heroines as outright feminists! 🥱 There is already one like that in the show, they will dare not show the sisters to have even half her common sense!

I have read another KK novel. It is Karna's wife. There the central character was as perfect as perfection could be ever defined.I find this problem in Anand Neelkanthan's books too. There the central characters are holier than thou while the opposite party are depicted as cruel monsters.😕I don't get.Its good that you wish to do something different but what is the need to distort the facts?

Hello guys I am new to this forum!!
I am glad I found this thread also found similar thoughts on Sita's sisters. Why do they behave typically like bollywood lead woman's sisters? Especially Mandavi!!
I wonder if the makers will come up with a justification for her Ravan fangirling or not.
Talking of Ravan I really liked his attitude. I wish he was more softer and showed more devotion while mentioning about Mahadev instead of behaving like a stubborn kid who is challenging his father (read shiv).
I think this will be made up during the Tandavstotr and the lifting Kailashgiri scenes.

I really hope they do.That scene was shown in both Rama and Sagara and Anand Sagar's Ramayan.Arvind Sir and Akhilendra Sir were really good in that scene and I am sure that JK will nail it too.
