You are right about Ram. He is growing on me too...may be they changed his make up a bit and he has settled in his acting more...

I want to reserve my comments on Kaushalya till I see how Shanta's story plays out. If this is same as what I have read, her anger and pain towards the past is completely justified (although it may be good for her to move on from there, for her own sake and the sake of her family)
