The episode today belonged to Rama.
I was not very impressed by the first look of this Rama, but in the last couple of episodes, he has really touched my heart. His expressions and that divine smile on his face is so Rama like!

He is vyakul to meet his Kaushalya ma and the other mothers, but he is not one to break the maryada

He cannot sleep at night because he can sense what his mother is going through!

But he maintains his calm and smiling demeanour, that radiates peace, and does everything the right way!

Contrast that with Kaushalya - a woman who feels all shishtachar ( decorum ) is atyachaar ( torture )

She cannot let go of her past pain, and everything is tinged with her pain, her relationship with her husband, her joy at meeting her sons, everything is about her lost daughter only ... Such people are prevalent who hold on to past and ruin their present ...

About Sita going to yudh - no comments, will wait for more ...

A big thumbs down to costumes - Sita's rani lakshmibai avatar and sumitras belly button showing style - bloopers!!!!

The Prashna of the day :

The very embittered sounding quote from Kaushalya :

Are shishtachar and atyachaar just two sides of the coin?

Or is shishtachar the foundation of a society ? And in the absence of shishtachar there will be widespread anarchy ?

Do share your views if you agree or disagree with Kaushalya ?

Again such a wonderful update of the episode by you.
Completely agree with today's episode belonged to Ram.

You perfectly mentioned that Kaushalya is just holding her past.

I am excited to watch Ram's sister track as I don't have much idea about Ram's sister. Precap shows that we are heading towards it.

They also showed such a nice bond between Sumitra and her 4 son.

The costumes are seriously a let down. Wish they notice it.

Even I don't know much about shanta, and this track where ram gets to know about her will be nice to see.

And also Rama's reason for meeting Kaushalya last will also be something worth waiting for

Love your updates :)

Reg the question that is posed today - all I can say is -

In the present context of the show :

Sishtachar when it comes in the way of "self interests" / "moh " , it will be felt as atyachar.

This rule of the princes not able to meet the mother , for the want of completion of some traditions, had been felt as atyachar by Kausalya , as she was too eager to meet her son. She had waited for all these years, she could not wait for one more night .,

On the contrary, Ram , though he too was equally eager to meet his mother, he never felt this tradition to be an atyachar - he respected the tradition, and took to same in his stride., with no ill feeling.

After all, he waited for all these years...what is one more night !

Now, I cannot say., that Kausalya is wrong., there are different ppl in the world, who are capable of feeling the emotions in different ways...Kausalya's motherly love / moh could not wait any more to have her son with her at the very moment, given he is just in the vicinity.

Ram, still gave it a rational thought, and peacefully got himself ready for one more nights wait.

----------

Coming to the current social scenario, there are several traditions prevailing , with no proper justification and merits, that they indeed are becoming atyachar..

They are supposed to be 2 faces of a coin, that should never meet.

-----------

Young Ram's countenance is indeed divine ! Today, He looked very much like "Sri Rama " in the prince's attire !

Nice post dear...
Ram's sister is something new for me and will know about her in future track but ram's mother is total atyachar..she just keeps weeping over same thing from day one..I never saw her happy...I like sumitra among three happy, understanding and supporting...
Ram feels pain, misses his mother's but hides under his smile..
Respect love and rituals equally...
Today's episode belongs to ram...

Well analyzed and a deep question posed...😊

Let me start out by saying that the depiction of both Dasharath and Kousalya are leaning on the irritating now... I understand that Kousalya as a mother has been devastated because of her daughter being taken away from her due to her husband's fondness to promise. But the 'Meine apni beti koya hai' line is getting repetitive.. It really sounds like her Shanta is dead (and she isn't).

Kousalya was a magnanimous queen wasn't she? I do not know the intricacies of the character in actual Ramayan and hence cannot comment much.. I wondering if it is the actor who is making it too morose🥱

Her dialogue on someone's decorum becoming someone else's atyachar... I think by now a queen would know that unless decorum is maintained, things get out of hand and chaos leads the way... Like Sumitra told her.. she will meet her sons the next morning.. And I remember that Kousalya did not go with Dasharath to see her sons when she had a chance. So why this ' I lost my daughter so don't tell me that decorum is important' rant?

It's the shistaachar that gave name and fame to her ancestors and defines Ram's divinity.

One does certainly understand that as a mother, she probably cannot wait to see her son after such a long time.. But Kousalya goes to an extreme in this depiction and makes even the most beautifully awaited moment very painful.

The only thing I liked was the little Ram FBs.. The child is so cute..😳

As for Ram, I think the best part of his character is the ability to look at others without prejudice.. Be it Jabali yesterday or his father's command to stay and do pooja to the ancestors before meeting his mothers, Ram's serenity has been defined very well..

On the other hand, I find it very interesting that they show a 8 year old run into the king's meeting and questioning him when a serious discussion of war is happening. It looks unnatural.. They need to tone it down.. There is a fine line between being independent, inquisitive and being obstructive. Sita was never the latter.

Well said, shishtachar when it comes in the way of moh is perceived as atyachaar - that is beautifully explained by you.

While that is true, isn't that how a child would think, but from a queen? A rajmata that too? I am sure she is from a royal family, and since childhood must've been trained in this shishtachar!

Two, anyway even her love for Rama seems to be clouded by her mourning for her daughter

And three, it is seriously hampering her duty as the eldest rani and the wife of the King, Sumitra displays more of the wisdom and dignity that is expected from Kaushalya
