Good evening / morning girls !!!
Starting off with an apology, Chirpy. My post has nothing to do with flashbacks, only wanted to share my opinions about ending of Season 1, beginning of Season 2. I am very disappointed, also didn't have time or had the will to start a new post. I hope you excuse me for this
I watched Monday ( Season 2 , episode #1 )with the hopes to see Ishaan, Mishti and Mauli together. I just about fell off the chair when I saw that the episode opened with 2 grown up young women. Then we get a 2 min flashback of the airport scene. The most important scene that should have been given the most importance, which was also used to bait us the day before is reduced to a mere 2 min, give or take😡No question, it was well done, but still left a bad taste in my mouth with how Ishaan and Mauli's union was tackled. The most honorable, graceful, giving guy gets served a 2 min half hearted sequence, while we had to put up with the cheater exs tantrums culminating in a generic sorry for what, a month now. I seriously wonder if the writer is afraid to show what is right, because of some pressure from somewhere?😡👎🏼
But what a scene that was! I liked the thank you ( I noted a mockery and sarcasm ) in that to the cheater. If not for you putting me through hell and high water, I wouldn't have realized my strength and resilience 👍🏼 If you didn't throw those divorce papers in my face and let me go, I wouldn't have ended up with a diamond like Ishaan👏👏❤️. These are not true words of gratitude but a zor ka thappad on the face🤣 of Kunal . I can't believe that the actor portraying Kunal either misunderstood what these were meant to be , to have a neutral expression on his face or the director bungled the whole sequence up, the actor's expressions were as if he was receiving some sort of praise and applause, he was acknowledging those thanks ( NOT ) with a smile😲 Am I crazy and reading more into this or did anybody else feel this way?
Ishaan continued to be a sweetheart that he consistently was 👏⭐️🤗Firstly, he stressed that he is not running away from difficult situations, but because he didn't want to be the person creating more complications in Mauli's life. Then, he goes on to say, that he will not let the bonds break between the two families and vowed that they should be visiting each other as Kunal is an important part of Mishti's life, as is Ishaan in Pari;s. Mind you, NO MORE than an important part, NOT AN INTEGRAL PART as Ishaan is in Mishti's life⭐️👏 The biological father also just wanted to be a buddy for Mishti, but not take the father's place, most likely because he knows that he would NEVER get that from Mishti and it is very well occupied by her father, Ishaan in her heart❤️May be also because, he would have had to hear more mockery from his daughter too if he threw himself into the fray with Ishaan competing to be the father I know they didn't indicate that, but I feel good when I say this. Ishaan maintained his magnanimity and grace throughout. He is that guy with a quiet confidence, who you feel secure and safe having around, he doesn't need to say too much and yet you know he has your back👏❤️. The actor did a phenomenal job exuding that persona with his acting, his body language and his subtle expressions, NO LOUD ACTING👍🏼.
So, the cheater guy never defended his kaand with Nandini when the time came, but also maintained that he was right when alone, also wanted to have a life with Mauli, now that Nandini is gone😡 I don't understand this thought process for any sane person, unless of course, I chalk it up to hypocrisy on Kunal's part😡👎🏼 So, if Nandini were alive, what would he have wanted?😕 Would he have still gone to the purana waqt sametna or would he have been right in his place and have a gala time with his fragile wife, abandoning his daughter, mother and GM? Would he have wanted a bharpur parivar or would he have continued to ignore his mother and GM and a devastated daughter to their means? I wish the writer touched on that part, either leaving Kunal as the jerk he always was or redeeming him with apologies for destroying the lives of his daughter, mother and GM. Nothing else. I WOULD NEVER ACCEPT THIS GUY ANYWHERE NEAR MAULI in either scenario, and so I left her out of the equation. The guy simply gave off vibes who would take advantage of situation in his favor, whatever it might be, he has really no deep seated scruples or convictions😡
Season 2, I am not able to connect with any of the people. Too many people, too flaky and superficial appearing for my liking. The chubby Ansh guy is OK. The ever-hanging teddy bear guy is reasonable, but I didn't like both girls wearing thigh high robes and this guy and the teenager brother oogling at them. I just got the worst case of creeps🤢 with that scene, probably not intended, but I got them anyway. Of the other two guys, honestly speaking, if they just showed me one and asked to identify who that is, I probably would have trouble if their mouth is shut. I raged at the dude with the red jeep, too arrogant, chauvinistic👎🏼. And why young women living in a metropolis such as Mumbai would take that kind of crap from a self-important nut like that is beyond me😡 Even my 8 yr old wouldn't put up with somebody touching her without her permission, she would have given the guy hell 😡And within a few minutes, he concludes that another young woman he met on the road, is good for nothing👎🏼What is the writer thinking ? I hate portrayal of girls as nincompoops who will fall to the charms of a conceited guy who acts high and mighty, that they won't and can't speak up against his nonsense? The other businessman guy is OK, but couldn't get past his pink blazer ( I used to have one, and as a woman, even I detest it now ), The smile of truimph as he presents his fiancee with the ring of her liking, is blehhh🤔 Big deal !!
Couldn't connect with the girls ! I can't believe I am saying this, but this older Mishti is not doing justice to my little girl, Mishti😲. That little girl was a firebrand, she had a strong sense of right and wrong, crystal clear thoughts about what she wants and fought with the entire world and her own mother till she got what was rightfully hers❤️Didn't falter even once when it came to her love towards her popsie, didn't let the biological father or "perfect family" lure her into choosing her biological father over her Lion King👍🏼🤗How I miss that father and his little princess😭. So, really couldn't understand her meekness, be it wearing a dupatta over her head or letting the MIL choose her ring, but once chosen, she seemed quite disappointed. I don't think any confident young woman would have acted the way she did. Well, if she wanted to humor the MIL, then do so whole heartedly and accept without any hesitation. If she wanted the one she liked, when she had the choice, she should have picked one. How long is she going to humor her MIL? A ring now? What else tomorrow? And resent that woman out of no fault of hers? Why would somebody intentionally put themselves in that situation. Same thing about that dupatta? How long is she going to please her MIL by dressing to her liking? This is not a one time deal, is it? If that woman is going to be the MIL, this will be a roz-roz ka drama. Simply put, THIS IS NOT MY MISHTI👎🏼
I couldn't relate after 2 episodes, so not watching anymore. I will rely on you girls to tell me if there is a flashback of Ishaan, Mishti and Mauli, I will watch. Have fun girls ! I will drop in from time to time.
Chirpy, apologies again😲 for taking unrelated space on your topic.
