Section 497 of the Indian Penal Code deals with Adultery. As per the Indian law, a woman cannot be punished for the offence of adultery. Only a man who has consensual sexual intercourse with the wife of another man without his consent can be punished under this offense in India. If someone "lives in adultery", the partner can file for divorce.[1]

So Nandini will never be in jail and won't be punished too, but Kunal can and I want him to suffer. Though KuNan(sick) are equally wrong, I feel Kunal is more on the wrong side than Nandini. Though this no way justifies EMA but atleast she a past, that made her seek love but janaab ka kya kehna? I am waiting to see how he explains to others on why he did EMA lol

I agree that Nandini wants to seek love because of her troublesome past, but to seek love in a married man who is also your BF's husband only because he is somehow attracted to her too. I don't think that makes sense.

Se could always seek love in Manas or any other man who was not in a committed relationship.

Even in US, dating your friend's ex at any point of life is a big deal. It's not considered a good thing to do, people call it a horrible thing to do. But here, Nandini ji got into relationship with the husband of her BF. That doubles up things- dating a married man & that too husband of your best friend. That makes her a terrible person in my opinion.

Rajdeep is a creep of another level. Kunal of another level. But her being a woman who has been victim of abuse doesn't make her less horrible. She is all the more since she as a victim herself victimized another woman of infidelity by agreeing to be in this relationship.

No .This law should exist and should expand to include woman also .now existing law cant punish rondini .it can punish only kunal.

if u want to have sex have it after divorce or with u r wife or husband consent .no one stops you .we r not animals in stone age where there is no marriage system and any one can go with any one at any point of time .So they made these laws.

Even kunal is single unmarried he needs to wait to have sex till Rondini is divorced .if he is a animal and can't wait he need to be punished or he can go to prostitute to satisfy his sex urges

I'd rather wish for a country where no woman wants to prostitute themselves or gets pushed into the same and no two adults are legally punished for engaging in consensual sex.

Hello 😊 I guess we have talked before on IMMJ 😆

Coming to this, I am in no way supporting Nandini, she is lucky that India doesn't seem to punish such women. What I meant was just how Rajdeep and Kunal are both wrong but in different ways, Nandini is wrong to. In all this, the only sane and white person is Mauli and she is getting hurt the most. I sympathised with Nandini when she was being abused. She sought solace but finding and even accepting that from her bff's husband is totally immoral, sahi hai. Pata nahi, but for some reason (I can't seem to explain why exactly) I find Kunal to be more guilty when you pitch them together (Totally my opinion).

And these CVs are exactly going to play with people like me lol. Expect me to have sympathy for Nandini by showing her getting abused again. Nahi CVs, I only feel she is slightly better when compared to Kunal having already suffered but she is not angelic. She is evil too.

In my opinion, India should trash this archaic law. Adultery is a moral transgression but it is not a crime.

This particular law is highly biased.

It should rather be gender-neutral or simply be a civil offence only. Civil offence means it can be used for divorce only. That's it. Victim can go on to suffer while the wrong-doers can enjoy that they haven't been landed in jail.

Incest wouldn't have any legal repercussion if consensual sex goes completely unpunished. I don't think that's happening in a long time. Many have including US, China, Singapore, UK & a lot of other countries is an offence. In UK, this law has infact devolved.

For the cases u mentioned they f crime just like adultery i,e human trafficking forced prostitution are crime same way adultery is crime

Consensual sex ..yes father daughter consensual sex .,will u agree ..this is not a stone age

Why so hard for u guys to find a unmarried woman or man or divorced man or woman and date him or her ..why u feeling adultery law should be scrapped ..

As it is, I think, under Indian law there are no provisions that specifically addresses incest, unless one of the parties involved is a minor, in which case it comes under POCSO.

In many countries 16 is the legal age and in India it's 18. Now, if an 17 year old has consensual sex with any adult then why should it come under POCSO, but it does if reported by the parents and adult is punished. There are so many instances where Indian laws overlap.

You are talking about countries where consensual sex is never criminalized. I don't think that's happening. Not all consensual sex can go without any scrutiny.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. Everyone below the age of 18 is already covered under POCSO, talking specifically about India. 18 and above, if it is consensual, it shouldn't ideally attract a criminal charge.
