In polygamy, all the wives KNOW that their husband has married all of them. Obviously it's not as common now as it was back then.

It's not about being regressive. Its about telling a sensitive topic in the way it should be. I started watching the show for the concept. Everyone knew Kunal & Nandini were going to have an EMA. That's not the problem! The problem is HOW these two have fallen in love. They're bringing in God when there's no need to. It's an affair, Kunal and Nandini are going to go behind Mauli's back - Where does God come from?

I've said this from the start. Anyone who has always had a problem with the core concept of the show, they shouldn't even be watching it! However, criticising the way the story is being told is not regressive. It's the incorrect term completely IMO.

I really enjoyed KANK, Astitva and even whatever I saw of Hasratein. Silsila doesn't touch those shows boldness because they haven't kept it very real'. They've added romantic background music and dialogues to suggest that there's nothing wrong in what they're doing. If they're not doing anything wrong then tell Mauli!

Radha was married and elder to Krishna, so is Meera. They both loved Krishna.

Krishna Supported and advised Arjuna to kidnap his sister Subhadra. Arjuna was married to Draupadi that time.

EMA existed that time also.

Radha was never married to Krishna but she loved him till her last breath and never married in her life. She didn't disturb his life either, such was her true love and devotion.

Meera never married Krishna. She just imagined him to be her husband and worshipped him.

When Arjuna married Subhadra, Krishna himself advised Subhadra on what to do so that Draupadi accepts her and not get angry. Besides those were times, when polygamy was everywhere. Even then Krishna knew Draupadi would be angry at this and advised Suvhadra on how to please Draupadi. Besides, Arjuna didn't marry Subhadra for love, it was a political alliance set up by Krishna himself to seal the political alliance between Hastinapur and Dwarka on the geounds of family relations and he didnvt want Subhadra to get married to Duryodhan who originally wanted to marry her and Balram was keen on this marriage as he favored Duryodhan very much.

None of that fits this particular premise.

I don't get what's so regressive if people are critiquing a show & this one in particular??
What does criticising have to do with being modern or not modern??
What's wrong n calling a spade a spade ??
People choose to watch a show for various reasons
Each one of us has differing views either about the story, the character or anything else.
That's not called regressive !!

About the shows the TM mentioned, I have not watched it & many others might not
have either, is my guess only. But I am pretty sure the audience had their own set of
disagreements & complaints about it, it's just that SM was not as rampant as now
& we would not hear about it as much relatively.

Every show, every book, every movie has been & will continue to be critiqued & it's only fair
they do.
So this has nothing to do with either being regressive or backward or not modern, whatever
the terms are.

And Radha and Krishna are gods and not humans for u to relate them to humans...Krishna can make take 100s of forms at once to live with each wife and make each feel special and important...can humans do tat?😆(its not gonna be justified here just because Lord Krishna did it..i have my own disappointment theories about him as well which i dont want to discuss here as its very irrelevant😆)
and talking about MB...well that was believed to have happened 5000 years ago...we are in 2018...and in India Ema is considered a punishable offence!!!! Draupadi married Arjun not because she loved him but because from the childhood her alliance was fixed with arjun...and fyi Draupadi is considered the Chief Queen of hastinapur and not Subadhra(olden days polygamy was more for a collaboration between two kingdoms)...

Never said Meera was married to Krishna. I know she was married to Mewar King Bhojraj.

Never made a post before here but will say this EMA is an age old concept because there are N number of shows which detailed with the topic...why just hasratein there was a tulsi virani whose husband mihir virani had an affair with mandira and even had a child called Karan...tulsi accepted back mihir and karan became her closest son even closer then her own son's...didnt people watch that show...didnt people love the bond tulsi had with karan...So EMA is nothing new to the audience...Just saying that concept is not the villian here...rest i dont watch the show so no comments on it...

Exactly, in Hasratein KT and Savi were friends for a long time before they began an affair. Their marriages already had a discord. They had trust issues.
None of that is here.
