Once upon a time almost 20 years back there used to be a show called Hasratein, very popular and hit show with high TRP . It was about a woman called Saavi who was married with a kid , her husband was a nice man . But she falls in love with her boss KT who was also happily married with two kids .
They both leave their partners and get married .

And surprise ...Saavi had a lot of fan following ...and it was 20 years back . Hasratein is considered one of the best show on Indian TV .

But now , when people have become so called more modern but actually they haven't , they just want to watch same saas Bahu with Pallu ( oh then they complain too but still they don't accept different concepts 😆 )

Almost , almost everyone panicked as soon as they got know that Silsila is about EMA . As if it doesn't happen in real life and everyone is saint in real life. "How can they show EMA" Moral policing start ho gayi . People are having issues that how can someone like Nandani 😆 .

Ahhh people 20 years back were more acceptable to such concepts and modern to accept such stories .

Agree with u dear ..actually I don't know what to say about this anymore they are reacting as if silsila show has started EMA before it wasn't exist and few people say we expected different treatment ...as some one pointed out people 20 years back more matured enough to accept bold concepts now people have became modern but they still wants to see not so realistic hero's and perfect female leads which not exists in real world...because these type of mentality makers also thinks to experiment something new and they serves us dhayn bhoot nagin SaaS bahu arrogant boss and middle-class female lead stuff

As long as I remember, in Hasratein, spouses of the leads were aware of the affair. And it dealt with how boredom leads to marital discord and eventually to the affair. That portrayal was much more mature than the teenage drama that is being shown by Kunal. They didn't bring the supernatural aspects to justify their humanly emotions. That was raw and clear.
It's not the case here. Kunal wasn't a bored husband. It's not the concept, its the execution that has left many bewildered.
Ask-e-memnu dealt with it too and even there I felt for Bihtar & her apparent discontentment with Adnan. I assert again, I get Nandini's development of feelings but not Kunal's. And Kunal is the driver of this whole silsila. This silsila began abruptly not giving audience chance to connect to it.

If audiences say Ema is wrong, how does it make them regressive.
Well in olden days, men used to have multiple wives,
So was it progressive. 😆
Show Ema, but just cos it's between the leads, doesn't mean it becomes right and ppl will not find faults with them
Kunal and Nandini shld not be subjected to criticism just cos they r leads😆.
I have no problem with Ema shown, but then don't paint it as a good thing.
God forbids if what is happening with Mauli happens to us, would we say, arre chodo ye regressive thinking hai meri. - let my hubby and frnd have an affair, that is progressive🤣

As far as my memory serves me Hasratein dealt with this issue in a far more mature way...no baba conjuring up of anywhere giving unwanted advice and the people involved in the affair and their spouses were all well aware of what was happening...
And this whole bhagwan ki marzi juzzbaat galat nehi hote dialogues weren't repeated every 5 minutes...
Audience hasn't become regressive...
The content here deals with a very mature and sensitive subject but the treatment of the same is regressive...
There are various reasons why people fall out of love... incompatibility, jealousy of the other's success, boredom, selfishness yes but here firstly there was no plausible reason for Kunaal to fall out of love with Mauli and secondly even if he did his afterthoughts and actions bordered on repulsive...

In this show, they are showing things like God signs as if trying to bring them back together and as if they are meant to be together and perfect for each other( lol if the very foundation of their relationship is cheating, how they gonna be perfect I wonder)
They are glorify EMA which is wrong.

It's okay to show EMA. It happens. But they should not glorify it nor whitewash it, because - we like the leads or - one lead is famous or - one wears sari or has been abused-

They should show kunan as flawed characters, instead of whitewashing them and trying to justify kunan in any way.

I don't know if anyone has seen Mukti Bandhan or KRPKAB. The lead women of those shows Devki & Sonakshi are my kind of women. Even they were flawed. That's my idea of modernity. And there are many examples. Who says, EK bahus are our idols.

You may have no issue with EMA concept but majority do have , they r having issues with this concept itself .

Audience can discuss it , have their opinions ( no bashing actors ) , have their fav characters , some can like Nandani ( yes people can like her ) and some Mouli, or Kunal but here majority of the audience is questioning the concept playing moral police . Arre concept nahin pasand toh mat dekho, watch ur pure husband wife shows , yeh rishta still is on air .

EMA was wrong in Hasratein too , no one called it Paak Mohabbat But audiences was enough modern THEN compared to today. And it's not only abt Silsila but if you look overall shows today and shows 20 years back . Enjoy the concept , atleast it's different otherwise don't watch
