this was actually not a historical show..was only inspired by history of somnath lol..coz its not sure that shobha was historical character or was only myth..and then all the tracks they introduced was imaginary...and now mahmud's death is just distortion of history as mahmud successfully looted somnath and died much later in his own gazni

I have read the whole novel by Chatursen shastri titled "Somnath'

As per the novel Shobhana existed but she was not a princess and did not belong to royal family in any way.She was a brahmin's girl and a fiesty lady.She loved someone else.That guy later embraced islam ( was named Fateh) and joined hands with Mahmud.He played a very crucial role in Mahmud's victory against Bhimdev.

There had been a firce battle between bhimdev ( joined by other rajas) and Ghaznavi.However Ghaznavi emerged victorious with the help of fateh.

Chaula was the Dadda's daughter and therefore a royal blood.

Bhimdev and Ghaznavi fall for Chaula but Chaula married Bhimdev.

Shobhana was Chaula's attendent and her good friend.After Ghaznavi had destroyed Somnath temple and looted the treasure and killed gangsarvagya , he then went looking for Chaula so that along with the loot he could take Chaula also to Ghazni.He entrusted Fateh with this task.

But Shobhana came to her rescue.She condemned Fateh's actions when she came to know he connived with mahmud and allowed Somnath looted and gangsarvagya murdered in front of him.She killed him when he told her that he would abduct Chaula for Ghaznavi.

She then posed as Chaula to Ghaznavi and requested him that she would be in veil till they leave India and reach Ghazni.She also asked him to stop his current expedition in India and march back to Ghazni along with his army if he loved her.

Ghaznavi agreed since he was totally besotted by her(Chaula).

During their way to Ghazni the cavalry encountered a fierce sandstorm.Most of the army was destroyed and the loot also got buried under the desert sand. Mahmoud himself got buried under sand but Shobhana rescued him wherein he discovered that he was tricked by Shobhana and Chaula never accompanied him.

Meanwhile in devpaatan everybody including Bhim and chaula came to know that shobhana had tricked Ghaznavi to leave India by making the ultimate sacrifice.

Shobhana and Mahmoud return to Ghazni with the remaining convoy and the loot.

my god the story was far far better than the show...i think the show didn't end if they followed that novel...loved the story..thanks for sharing this
