What was todays episode?! Heartbreaking! In also found it a reflection of society, where we wear down strong and independent women until they give in to socital conditioning.
First, Vineet is a horrible human being!! does he need to stop Anokhi's admission? No. He does it out of pure spite and ego. He does he because he knows he can and that girl holds no power over him. Here we see how men often tend to ruin womens advancements because they just can!
Babli and her sasuma, the same cooment i made earlier, inlaws assume that everything a DIL has or earns is by dafault theirs because women are "owned" as objects. They belong to husbands and their families is the attrocious mindset. All Babli and Rama can do is pray!
This young bright and intelligent girl was requesting everyone for what? just wait for the time she rightfully had and not listen to Vineet. But these 3 grown men went on to "BULLY" her in name of rules. The importance of rules could have been highlighted without insulting her. Here for once shaan was right, she would have to pay the fees. Rules ().
Alok was made to just cause verbal spats. I just cant!!!
I loved the moment shaan gave Vineet a shut up call and offered to pay the fees. I think what he did not do 25 years ago, he is somehow doing now...which makes me think that he could but he did not.
Now, shaurya, I think Shaurya is hiding his "hate for anokhi" under the guise of "she is chant" because otherwise his conscience would not take it. His anger, his refusal to give her admission stating that she was not to be trusted (REALLY?) could have been metted out politely? Shaurya is logical, there was no proof of her being a thief and yet...sigh! He hated that his father was ready to pay her fees like she was his daughter!!! (HURTX2). But at a point things take turn. I felt his conscience poked him when anokhi broke down. He did not expect that!!
Nikki, you lioness!!! Dealing with 3 privilidged and arrogant men who just wanted to bring you down. Trying to reason in and high pressure situation. Not giving up...till she broke down. And walking away with those words (namaste killed it for me!!!!). The song that played just made the scene more heart breaking!!
Enterrrrrrrrrrr the OG lioness. Aastha Kayshap, will enter SIAC to make sure her student gets the best. the way she gave strength to Anokhi, her calm aura and her calm stance (that things will be okay). We all need a aastha Kashyap in our lives!!❤️ Her holding Anokhi's hand and taking her towards Shaurya/SIAC (hmm....call of the future?). The scene was amazing! She clashed with her past while building Anokhi's future! And the line of sight...from a teary shaan to an arrogant and angry shaurya (KV's expressions here...WOW!)
The episode has one of the best performances from the cast! Shaurya's slight guilt!! uff! Shaan's frustration (What is wrong is WRONG!)
Today's episode had me in tears by the time Anokhi greeted everyone and left the hyenas all ready for the kill. It was the most grueling experience I felt. It pained me so much how Anokhi was fighting for her dream to study, and there we had men, in position of power humiliating her, treating her like a lesser being.
Vineet is a scum and showed his colours, His mother is no better, treating Babli like her property.
Glad both Shaurya and Shaan told Vineet off. But then they still allowed him to continue with his diatribes..For all his act of telling Vineet off, Shaurya was no better at insulting Anokhi...
Shaurya is a person with a lot of bagage because of his parents, does he not have an ounce of humanity in him? How can he be so blind in his hate for his mother to take it out on Anokhi? Nothing justifies the way he treated Anokhi like a thief. he may not be saying so crudely like Vineet but his action is alluding to the same thing. Shaan was right, ever since Anokhi has tried to join SIAC, Shaurya has tried everything to stop her. I am mad at Shaurya.
Then we see his reaction when Shaan says he will pay the fees for Anokhi, and trying to get her back. Shaurya is again abandoned by his father, this is how he feels. I started with crying for Anokhi and by the end was crying for both.
Then the pillar of strength that Anokhi needed came...
Imagine the scene playing out in front of Shaurya, his parents fighting tooth and nail for a total stranger and he is left to fend for himself...💔
Anokhi was called a 'chor' and 'jhooti' so many times. She tried to counter it, but eventually she had to accept defeat. She was wrong to use a watch that was not hers as a security for her fees, but Shaurya was just as wrong believing that she stole her sister's kangan because of his prejudice. I loved that Shaan tried to help by offering to pay the fees, but without the TC, even he couldn't do a lot. I also loved that Shaan yelled at Vineet to get off the premises!
"Main aapse apne aap ko aur beizzat nahi karwana chahti.....usool, kanoon, aur niyam ke baat karte hai...bina kissi saboot ke maan le." Even when she was defeated, she held her head up high and walked away. When she said "Main haar maanti hoon", Shaurya had such a surprised and confused face. And playing "Dhuaan hai dhuaan zindagi" was apt!
Dhuaan hai dhuaan zindagi, ik khwaab jal gaya
Taara jo chamka tha kal, andheron mein ghul gaya
Raat andheri andheri rahi, ik subah mili thi kaheen kho gayi
Baat adhoori adhoori rahi, main jahaan se chali thi, wahin hoon khadi
The lyrics "main jahaan se chali thi wahin hoon khadi" was probably meant for Anokhi, but it was pictured on Shaurya, which reminded me that he's also very stuck in his place too. He is an abandoned 4 year old stuck in his anger and loneliness.
Aastha the savior has arrived. Her words are always so inspiring. To loosely translate her "Everything can be fixed if intention is strong! As long as you're breathing, your heart is beating, hope stays alive!" And that last scene of Shaastha face to face after 25 years and Shaurya just looking on was heavy. I can't wait to see the continuation.
Side note:
~ Why doesn't Shaurya and Vineet recognize each other? Vineet mentioned Kapurthala and runaway bride, and nothing clicked in Shaurya Sabherwal's head? Put the pieces together!!! I know they never do😔
~ I hate Mrs. Bhatia. She's a monster! Her bahu is her unpaid naukrani - making food and washing clothes. And to have the audacity to say that everything a bahu brings becomes her sasuraals, but to account that the money Babli spends is all Vineet's. There was a New York Times article last year that said that if women were paid for their unpaid labor globally, it would total 10.9 trillion dollars. That's how underpaid and unappreciated a homemaker is! 😡

It's all ego for Shaurya and for Vineet. Both of them could just let her be. But they both choose to put obstacles in front of her, as if she needs to "earn" things that men just expect to be handed to them.
Babli and her sasuma, the same cooment i made earlier, inlaws assume that everything a DIL has or earns is by dafault theirs because women are "owned" as objects. They belong to husbands and their families is the attrocious mindset. All Babli and Rama can do is pray!
I hate women that are the enemy of other women. If you can't help, then move aside. Why be part of keeping the power structure intact?

What do these big men get out of beating down a little girl? It's highly irritating that this is stroking their ego and 2 out of 3 are just trying to get back at someone from their past.
Now, shaurya, I think Shaurya is hiding his "hate for anokhi" under the guise of "she is chant" because otherwise his conscience would not take it. Yes! He was taken back when she accepted defeat. He looked so puzzled, like he was trying to figure her out. She just keeps on intriguing him and taking space up in his head!!

I love that line.......clashing with her own past to build Anokhi's future. This is what will hurt Shaurya the most.....her willingness to come face to face with her past for Anokhi, but never for her own son. Both his parents did that to him. The things they did for Anokhi but never him.

@bold: I'm sooooooooo with you on this! I was so annoyed and mad at Shaurya throughout the confrontation. From his silence initially to his insinuations, Shaurya was letting his anger and hatred win. But when Shaan showed up and stood up for Anokhi and scolded Shaurya, I felt so bad for him. And now we'll see Aastha do the same. I always start up siding with righteous Anokhi and end up feeling bad for broken Shaurya.

Mrs. Bhatia and Vineet are the reality of our society. Many households rural and urban still marry their sons to bring a "ghar ka dhyan rakhne wali". But she is actually treated like "ghar ke kaam karne wali slave"Originally posted by: mallukumari

ONE GOOD DEED, SHAAN SABHERWAL! I was sooo triggered by Vineet... He was just taking the opportunity to soil Anokhi's reputation.
"Main aapse apne aap ko aur beizzat nahi karwana chahti.....usool, kanoon, aur niyam ke baat karte hai...bina kissi saboot ke maan le." I loved Anokhi's comeback. She had accepted defeat but Shaurya was the real loser here. He lost is ethics and morals to his prejudice.

It was painful indeed! I never hated Shaurya as much as hated him in this episode. His need to kick Anokhi out of the SIAC is very disturbing given that he is a professor and knows that she is a brilliant student.
First, Vineet is a horrible human being!! does he need to stop Anokhi's admission? No. He does it out of pure spite and ego. He does he because he knows he can and that girl holds no power over him. Here we see how men often tend to ruin womens advancements because they just can!
It is pure entitlement. Claiming to know her character and soiling her reputation because he can simply feel empowered by squashing her dreams...!!
I am sure his ego was hurt when she gave him a slip and made fool of him.
And Shaurya was only slightly behind him in this matter!!
Babli and her sasuma, the same cooment i made earlier, inlaws assume that everything a DIL has or earns is by dafault theirs because women are "owned" as objects. They belong to husbands and their families is the attrocious mindset. All Babli and Rama can do is pray!
So true!! It is like marriage is just used as a legitimate method of extortion. If the daughter-in-law gives in, she will live a life like Babli's. If not, men like Vineet Bhatia will continue to hound and try to subdue them until they crack her open.
Rules ().
It was pathetic. Alok and Shaurya were just torturing her to defeat Aastha, not realizing that they are killing dreams of a young talented woman who will reach heights given that she gets a fair opportunity. TBH, at this point, I had wondered if Shaurya will continue to be such a disappointing professor and human... Thankfully he wasn't.
Alok was made to just cause verbal spats. I just cant!!!

True. The voice he raised for Anokhi was probably never raised for Shaurya.
Now, shaurya, I think Shaurya is hiding his "hate for anokhi" under the guise of "she is chant" because otherwise his conscience would not take it. His anger, his refusal to give her admission stating that she was not to be trusted (REALLY?) could have been metted out politely? Yes. Her parting words were like a knock on his conscience. Like to check if it exists!!

I think... She was a real winner. She still had her self respect and she did not beg. She is a real hero to me. While you could sense the shame in Shaurya when she gave it back to him "respectfully" while he was being petty and unethical.
Enterrrrrrrrrrr the OG lioness. The episode has one of the best performances from the cast! Shaurya's slight guilt!! uff! Shaan's frustration (What is wrong is WRONG!)
Shaan was in his own world once he saw his Noor. He forgot everything.
Shaurya was more or less hurt to see her again, knowing that she was here for Anokhi Bhalla but never came for him. His guilt was rightfully present!! I would have been so mad if it had not been there.
Me in blue! I wish I had someone like Aastha Kashyap to support me when I was in a peril. She is so strong and inspirational! ❤️ I loved how she spoke up.

All the points you raised were exactly what I felt. This episode showed to us how society is still being controlled by men in power. Shaurya had the grace to feel chastened when Anokhi left with her dignity intact, but at the same time, his wound is raw and further made worst with the arrival of Aastha and both his parents supporting a stranger and doing everything in their capacity for her, whilst abandoning their own child to others...😭😭
I loved Anokhi's comeback. She had accepted defeat but Shaurya was the real loser here. He lost is ethics and morals to his prejudice.

Mrs. Bhatia and Vineet are the reality of our society. Many households rural and urban still marry their sons to bring a "ghar ka dhyan rakhne wali". But she is actually treated like "ghar ke kaam karne wali slave"
Shaurya really started at the bottom with the viewers. He was so dismissive of Anokhi and so blinded by his Aastha-hate! His character arc is so impressive.
So, I know that it's normal to forget people in passing. But Shaurya almost had an altercation with Vineet and Raja. Also it wasn't in Chandigarh and it wasn't a normal day. I just feel like it would stand out. It's a blooper for me!
It is very disturbing that men are handed from their mothers to their wives, just like women are handed from their fathers to their husbands. It's such a loss for society. The fact that men have to be redeemed by their wives and save them from their own bad behavior. And in return men financially support them. Why did we agree to this type of societal set up??
