I agree with both of you. What one wants to be or not be is of course a personal choice. Many women are happy to work and many are happy to stay at home. As someone who did both,I have no regrets at all. I am grateful for the time I got to take care of my kid. Could I have managed juggling a demanding career, chores and a baby? Yes! I had helpers, and a social circle of friends I could count on. I could’ve managed and had it all..But I wasn’t happy. As simple as that! So I did what I needed to do and it was great!

Now that my kid is older, I’m back to the daily grind.😀 I know many are not as fortunate to simply quit and take a break, some are pressured into working, just like some are pressured into not working.

Like in Kanchan’s case, she willingly had to give up her career ambitions ( or whatever was left of it) when she got married into the Sabh household. Now let’s imagine if the Sabh’s had no such absurd rule that the Daughters -in-law of the house shouldn’t work, do you think Kanchan would sit around whiling away her potential? I don’t think so.

She would’ve definitely pursued her passion, maybe started a small business or may have even studied further.

Loved the Kanchan- Yash story Akshu! As always you keep it real , something that we can imagine happening I perhaps in Season 2 😁❤️. In the show , Kanchan plays the sweet yet sometimes dull headed Sabherwal Bahu. She’s always been playful( with Shakhi 😄) and its refreshing that we finally get to see her ( and Yash’s ) romantic side. 😍🙌 But what I really liked is that after Anokhi’s entrance in the Sabh house, everybody seems to be getting ballsy-er with BM 😂 . She had it coming!
Yash and Kanchan have so much potential to be explored as a side story. Thanks for this Akshu!

There are some women who really WANT to work, some really HAVE to work, some really don't see the need to work. But there are some who just don't care. They could work before marriage, but they are completely fine with not working after marriage. I know some of these women... And I don't see anything wrong in that.

I really liked your take on Yash and Kanchan. On SAAKK, Yash’s inability to support Kanchan frustrated me at times.

Yash realising that they need to make time for each other after Kanchan’s outburst and actually making the effort was nice to see. And Kanchan reciprocating it via the date night was heart warming.

His line to Devi about being his wife’s control was hilarious. 🤣

Kanchan and Anokhi’s bond was sweet too.

The Shakhi moments in this was just adorable. ❤️

Btw according to me it's completely woman's choice that what she wants to do after marriage whether she wants to continue her career with job /study or wants to take care of the family by becoming a housewife. And believe me to become a housewife it's not bad but yes I would prefer to work even after marriage also.

You know what whether you will work or not responsiblilties are same then why to sit home and just take care of a family ? That you can do with your work also. Right ?

I think she didn't know how to until it became unbearable for her. In initial episodes, we never saw Yash and Kanchan interaction, but eventually she had an outburst in Goa when she was angry about what was happening to her and Shaurya.

I didn't write about Shaurya and Kanchan because I wanted to focus on Yash and Kanchan, I never saw Kanchan talking about her relationship with Shaurya and adding that scene would only lengthen the chapter. But I will see if I can do something for them.. 👍🏼

U'r story on Yash taking small steps to build back their relationship was too the point. I wd have loved to read more of it. Especially hw he stands up for her infront of the great Devi. He also took pains to learn salsa 💞.

I think Gayatri was supposed to be like her fellow caged bird 😳 Someone who didn't have it in her to break free but was there to console her every time Kanchan was hit by Devi's words. It was eventually Kanchan and Anokhi who slightly boldened her.

Kanchan is probably the kind who keeps it all in until it becomes too much to bear. Haina?

In arranged marriages it is always assumed that once we find "suitable boy" everything will fall in its place .In arranged marriages Girls always think or are forced by family n cutural pressure a well educated boy, good job,good family backgnd is an asset but fail to realise that the relationship is going to be asset only if both parties invest time into this relationship. Important to invest timely in a relationship else it becomes a liability later on.in saying this family support plays a key role here where sabharwals failed for kanchan.

Kanchan always thought it will work thst way and has never spoken openly about her needs or wants nor yash has and thats until AB entered in Sabharwal house.kanchan finds courage to put forward her expectations from her husband which he was totally unaware being busy in his work.

It would have been a good track to explore if was handled properly by creatives.

SO TRUE!!! People think finding a good partner is everything in arrange marriage. But they will make a good pair if they have a spark, compatibility and willness to work it out. In fact, families like Sabherwals who want a free ghar ki naukrani often ignore the couple's relationship. As long as she is a good bahu, they won't care how things are between the husband -wife. Much like Babli-Vineet. Vineet treated her as if she is the worst wife ever, but they still kept her around bcz of dahej and oppression.
