Chapter 29
Anokhi picked up the phone on the first ring but didn't say anything.
"Hello...Hello..." Shaurya said impatiently.
"Hi!!" whispered Anokhi.
Shaurya took a deep satisfying breath hearing her voice and said in a complaining tone "You left me hanging..."
"Hanging?? Huh?? What do you mean??" Anokhi confusingly asked.
"You hung up and didn't even let me tell you how much I loved your surprise gift.'' Shaurya said mischievously.
"Uhhh what surprise gift??" Anokhi said impassively.
"Ohhh so now you are going to pretend you didn't say I LOVE YOU to me!!" Shaurya chuckled.
"When did I say that??" Anokhi acted surprised and bit her lip to stifle her chuckle.
'Hmmm keep pretending!! I know how to make you say it again' he thought. Then he smiled slyly and said "Actually I wanted to tell you how I felt when you said it, but since you didn't say anything so..." and purposely he paused to get her reaction.
"How did you feel??" Anokhi asked curiously.
"How did I feel when??" Shaurya asked innocently.
"When I said I LOVE YOU, then..." Anokhi asked impatiently. But as soon as words spilled out of her mouth she realized Shaurya tricked her into saying it again.
Shaurya smirked in triumph and lovingly said "I LOVE YOU TOO JAAN!"
"I know, but you tricked me...you always do this." Said Anokhi petulantly.
Shaurya chuckled hearing her tone and said "But I really really enjoyed my gift and my surprise gift. I was eagerly waiting for it...It's the best gift of my life. I love you so much Jaan."
Anokhi smiled hearing his happiness. "Did you wish everyone at your house??" asked Anokhi.
"No, they are all sleeping. I'll wish them all in the morning." replied Shaurya.
"Oh okay!"
"But right now I want to wish you." Shaurya said mischievously.
"But you already wished me." replied Anokhi confusingly.
"Yes I did but I want to do it properly" Shaurya said naughtily.
"Properly?? What do you mean??" frowned Anokhi.
"Come in my blanket first and then I'll explain."
"Okay!!" said Anokhi in a dim tone and happily pretended to be lying close to him and imagined hearing her name in his heartbeats. This was something she loved doing every night.
"Okay, now that you are here I want to kiss your forehead and wish you our first new year together." Before Anokhi could react he wished her... "Mmmuuuaaahh Happy New Year Jaan."
"Thank you and same to you" Anokhi replied shyly.
"Jaan?"
"Hmm"
"Can I kiss your eyes??" Shaurya asked hesitantly.
With a heavy blush she murmured "Uhhh okay" Anokhi agreed but was feeling a bit surprised at his tone. 'Why is he sounding so hesitant?? What's he up to??' she thought.
Shaurya smiled hearing her agree and asked her to close her eyes. Anokhi did as he asked and closed her eyes while imagining him holding her face lovingly in both hands and kissing each eye one by one.
"How about your cheeks??" He advanced a little further, the hesitancy in his voice was much lesser than before.
"Okay" whispered Anokhi as she suddenly started feeling like millions of butterflies were fluttering in her stomach. A sudden rush of excitement went through her body as she heard him kissing.
"Now your cute nose" his tone had no trace of hesitation anymore and he wasn't taking her permission anymore, he was merely informing her about what he was doing.
Anokhi felt shy and could only manage a "hmmm" as reply.
"And now under your nose."
Anokhi felt extremely shy at the mention of a lip kiss and panicked, not knowing what else to say she blurted "You mean my chin??"
Shaurya laughed hearing her panicky tone and said "Yes, your chin."
Anokhi took a deep breath of relief and replied "Okay."
After kissing her chin he casually said "Now above your chin."
"On my nose again??" Anokhi innocently asked.
"No...under your nose on your..." Before he could finish, Anokhi cut him off saying "under my nose is my chin only, nothing else."
Shaurya smirked at her reaction and said "Really!! You mean there is nothing between your nose and your chin??" Shaurya asked naughtily.
"Nnnooo...there's nothing" replied Anokhi stubbornly.
"Hmmm okay, when we meet next time I will show you what's between your nose and chin and then I'll kiss you there" Shaurya teased.
Anokhi's eyes threatened to pop out as her brain registered what Shaurya said and all she could manage to say or rather stutter was "Wwwhhhaaattt???"
Shaurya laughed, hardly managing to keep his voice low lest anyone hears him.
Anokhi pouted hearing him laugh and said "You are making fun of me."
"Awww sorry Jaan! I was just teasing you."
Anokhi didn't reply and stayed quiet...Shaurya understood she was mad.
"Jaan??" Shaurya said but after getting no reply from her he said in a serious tone "Jaan, I was just teasing you, I won't do it the next time we meet although I do want to kiss you one day and hug you, feel you close to my heart. But I'll do it only when you feel comfortable. I'll wait. Anyway for now I'm just happy that you love me and one day you will be mine." He paused and sighed deeply, then continued in a sad tone "I know it will take some time before you are officially mine, but for you I can wait as long as it takes." He paused again for a few seconds then lovingly said "I love you so much."
Hearing him Anokhi had tears of happiness in her eyes, thinking how much he loves her and cares about her. "I love you too" said Anokhi in a whisper as her tears threatened to choke her.
"But I do want to see you as soon as possible." Shaurya mischievously added.
"How?? It's still holidays." Anokhi said smilingly. The thought of meeting Shaurya for the first time after their confession made Anokhi feel excited and nervous both at the same time. Nervous because she felt extremely shy thinking about being face to face with him and excited because somewhere behind her shyness she also craved to meet him.
"Yes it is but only two more days left now. I can't wait for Monday" Shaurya said excitedly.
"Monday!! Where and how will we meet on Monday??" Anokhi asked.
"In school!!" Shaurya said it like it was the most casual thing to say.
"In school?? But I'm not coming to school." Anokhi announced.
"Yes you are!" Shaurya firmly replied.
"When did I say that??" Anokhi confusingly asked.
"You didn't, but you have to come. I want to see you" Shaurya insisted.
"But no one is coming, what will I do there alone??" Anokhi asked.
"You won't be alone, some other students are also coming" told Shaurya.
"But what would I say why I've come??" Anokhi asked.
"No one is going to ask you that, and if someone does then just say you had some questions to ask me, simple!" Shaurya explained.
"But I can ask you questions during tuition class too, then why would I specially come to school?? It doesn't make sense" argued Anokhi.
"Are you asking for you or someone else?? No one else will bother to think that much!! You also don't think so much and just come. I can't wait another day to see you."
"Okay, I'll come" whispered Anokhi thinking to herself 'Even I am eager to see you but am just feeling shy thinking how will I face you?? But, I also know sooner or later I'll have to face you so why not now.'
Shaurya got extremely happy and excited and he eagerly started waiting for Monday.
With Monday approaching, gradually Anokhi started to feel uneasy, edgy and nervous, thinking how she will face Shaurya. Then something occurred to her which made her relax a bit. 'Since we will be meeting in the school it will only be a half hour in the lab during class and then also others will be there, so I won't be meeting him alone.' Her own thinking gave a little comfort to her uneasy and nervous heart, she took a deep breath with a relieved feeling, then she told herself 'Okay, I can do this. Anyway how long can I avoid coming in front of him?? Have to face him one day, plus I want to see him too.' She smiled sheepishly at her own thoughts.
Sunday night they didn't talk the whole night as they both needed to wake up early and also both were excited for their first meeting after confession.
Monday arrived soon enough.
Shaurya got ready and excitedly left his house to go to school. The whole way he just kept reminiscing her beautiful smile and each passing second made him more eager for their first meet. 'I know I can't hug you or anything but seeing you from so near would be just as good for starters. I just can't believe, finally after such a long wait you'll be in front of me today' he smiled at his thought.
Anokhi on the other hand was ready and now on her way to school as well. She was excited but a bit nervous too. She was sitting in the bus and looking out trying to keep her nerves calm.
After reaching school Anokhi went to her class and saw a few other students were there as well. She kept her bag and went to the supervisor's room to get the keys from Mr.Kohli.
Mr.Kohli got surprised seeing her and confusingly asked "Anokhi, what are you doing here?? You are supposed to be at home preparing for your exams."
"Sir actually..." Anokhi fumbled.
Without waiting to hear her Mr. Kohli asked "Are there other students who came as well??"
"Yyyes sir" Anokhi replied anxiously in a hesitant tone. She got scared with all the inquiry and thought to herself 'Maine kaha tha na mujhe nahin aana school aur mujhe yahan fasa ke khud pata nahi kahan ho aap??' (I told you I don't want to come to school and while I am trapped here you are nowhere to be seen.)
While she was lost in her thoughts Mr. Kohli asked "Why you all have come anyway?? You all should be at home and studying."
Before she could reply Shaurya smoothly replied standing behind her "I asked them to come. Actually they were having issues with their projects so I said they can come and work on it here."
As soon as she heard his voice, her heart stopped beating, her legs felt jello. No doubt she heaved a sigh of relief for saving her from Mr. Kohli's inquiry session but she had no courage to face him directly, she didn't turn towards him.
"Oh okay!" replied Mr.Kohli. Then he handed the keys to Anokhi and asked her to go and take attendance. Anokhi moved closer and took the keys from him and as she was about to turn to leave her eyes met with Shaurya and at the same time Mr.Kohli shot another question "What will they do the rest of the day??"
Hearing Mr.Kohli's question Anokhi halted there and looked at him confusingly thinking why he was asking like that.
"They can sit in the lab all day and work on their projects." Shaurya replied quickly as if he had that answer ready all along.
Anokhi turned and looked at him with her mouth open in surprise. 'Ohh no, that means staying in front of him all day long' thinking that she blinked her eyes and looked panicked.
Shaurya sighed deeply and looked at her lovingly thinking 'finally she turned towards me.' But as he noticed her reaction to his suggestion he smirked and somehow managed to control his laugh. He knew very well what was going on in that head of hers and why she was panicking. He smoothly said "Good Morning Anokhi!"
His greeting brought her out of her shock and she replied while stuttering a bit "G g good morning."
After greeting him she kept looking at him and unconsciously a smile crept up on her lips. Seeing his loving gaze and charming face she forgot all her nervousness, her surroundings, everything...until a voice abruptly brought her out of her dreamy gaze.
"Anokhi take attendance and keep the register back and return the keys to me before you go to the computer lab." Mr.Kohli instructed.
Anokhi quickly turned towards him and replied "Yes Sir!!" Then she left the room while keeping her eyes down and smiling.
Shaurya also smiled happily seeing her smile. Then he went and sat with other teachers in the room.
After taking attendance and keeping the register back in the almira, Anokhi was on her way back to the supervisor's room to return the keys thinking Shaurya will also be there.
Shaurya who was coming out from the science section after telling the few students there to come to the lab as well saw Anokhi coming lost in her thoughts. He quickly walked towards her and stood in front of her before she entered the supervisor's room.
As Anokhi was not paying attention and was busy in her thoughts she bumped into him and the keys fell from her hand, "I'm sorry" she mumbled and bent down to pick up the keys without noticing who she bumped into.
Shaurya smiled, reminiscing about their first meeting and whispered "It's okay Jaan, it's not the first time."
Hearing him Anokhi quickly stood up and looked at him with her mouth open and frantically turned her head left and right to see if someone was around and then looked back at him grinning.
"I was on my way to your class only. Go give the keys back and come" saying this Shaurya moved towards her class not wanting to stay there too long and moved before anyone sees them.
Anokhi returned the keys and headed back to her class where Shaurya was telling the class that they can stay in the lab all day and work on their projects and he will help when needed.
Soon they all headed towards the lab.

It's so lovey-dovey I must say. And Shaurya is taking the advancement is soo romantic. Anokhi's shyness, oh god what will she do when she got a romantic, mischievous boyfriend like Shaurya.
I love the most is at first Shaurya asked her for the kiss and then he understand his rights and just inform her about his next step and Anokhi also okay with that. Both of them are very eager to give each of them their rights.
I love how both of them are so excited to meet each other and Anokhi's excitement along with nervousness.

Omg!! They met!! Did I mention how much I love his endearment for her. Jaan - it’s like 🙌🏽 So cute just like them.
Poor Anokhi how will she survive an entire day with him. I do hope some isharoon isharoon main thing is going to happen.
I love how mature Shaurya is but stil so very playful I think it just makes him perfect. I can’t wait to see how he convinces her family.
