In this regard i have only few words to say which i feel r absolutely perfect for the present scenario :

"Rape is the only crime where the Victim is treated as been accused of the crime"

And

"Nothing else provokes a guy's mind to rape a girl, except a Rapist mentality"

Safety is never there anywhere. Its just not in the dark these things happen, but also during day time. Where will women go? Just stay at home? Small girls can't even go to school?! Girls/women are caught unaware when they are attacked and there is nothing they can do after that. They can be as cautious they can be, but the sad truth is, they cannot protect themselves once they are caught.

Hence, the safety and protection for women should be increased. Just not women, even men should be cautious and see that there is no one trying to attack women. Help them in need.

Forcing the higher authority is definitely needed. And now there is the power of media. Even though media does go overboard at times, they do bring the matter open and the officials are then forced to take action. Media can play a huge role in this.

yes another good pint ..girls need to be taught about their selves more well .. they need to know openly how ppl thinks about themselves and behave that way .. it is the one of the practical solution, they need to get out of their fansaty land .. bcoz this society is not even thinking about their fantasy .. they should be given good practical knowledge to get what is happening around them .. and i wld like to say, girl of any age can defo sense which man is eying her,she need to be taught well that which eye is wrong!

And,another things they showed in the beginning! The Nirbhaya case got the culprits punished ..but after that it again came to zero ... so what did it help??? nothing .. coz it won't change until change is done within ourselves and i firmly will stick to the point that girls need to think more practical .. and behave the same way !

This DOMINATING and POWER of men too has been here for a long time. How much ever we say that time has changed, women are more powerful now, it is not entirely true. Yes, women are coming out more than what they used to be, but when it comes to physical strength and emotions, women are still relatively weak which is an advantage for men.

I agree with almost all ur pointz, but i disagree with @bold...
Women can be strong even physically if they opt for certain recreation activities like marshal arts etc...
n it does gives confidence to them of not being the weaker gender as well...
To be stronger gender, the women of our society firstly need to believe themself that they arent weak...
(but yeah i agree that the scenario is absolutely different if the case is of gang-rape)

Sadly Indians r still living in 18th century victorian age.
Womens purity and virginity were a prize even in west but the feminist revolution changed that.
They hav moved on from these petty things...
I am living in australia n rapes happen here too...but vicitms r not blamed or stigmized for it.
They go through counselling and later lead a normal life.
They can fall in love..get married and have a family.,...men wont shy away frm her coz of her being a rape survivor.

Most men dont care abt virginity in infact its unexpected to be a virgin after 18

This izzat honour thing is pure crap...why shld ppl attach so much importance to someone's sex life I dont get it.
In india n non virgin girl is considered a public property its like...she is spoilt goods afterall so can be defiled again n again.
Frankly this so called indian culture disgusts me...its just hipocracy

Very Very Nice Discussions, I think Women's should have self believe.
Being a boy, I am not sure, but I think today's society is sure male dominating. For girls to have a place here, they should have:

1) Self Belief: Which means that no male person, can touched me or even come near to me.

2)Defence: They should now how to defence the rapists.

About Media and Police, I would like to say they love ony one thing and that is

Money

Otherwise if womens are raped, critisised or anything they will just see their profits.

Else, Humanity has lost.

Hi Jes! Its Shreya here(if you remember)
I just wanted to post exactly what you said!
Your thinking is really good!👏Love it! Agree 100%

Its not the system!
It is us! We are the cause of all this. We make the system. It is us who look down on rape victims and make them feel like their life is over, they have committed the crime, they are at fault and they deserve it somehow.
We should be so ashamed. People in other countries now look down at our people because of this.
We lack compassion towards our fellow humans. Not only men but women too make women suffer.
This episode has taught me a lot.
Brilliantly researched episode.
I will change myself before changing others. Change comes first from within.

I agree with you. Its because of the system and the society. The police, I mean I know some are, but some also aren't doing their job.

They are supposed to be the defenders of our country, if they cannot fulfill their duty, what does that mean? Are we destined to live in a corrupted, cold-hearted country trusting no one? Are we supposed to tolerate the torture without turning to anyone?

It surprises me. I mean I am hearing about these cases and I want to do anything I can to help them. And police are involved in the case first hand, how can they remain so apathetic? How can they live with themselves after acting like that? It disgusts me.

Not only the police, but doctors and lawyers are heartless. They question and accuse the patients. Aren't doctors viewed as god because of their healing power? How can they treat them as such? With no empathy. No sympathy. No understanding. I mean she just went through the most traumatizing moment of her life and the least we can do is not make it worse.

Solution: We need Hitler-like person. I don't mean like targeting Jews thing. But I mean we need a AMAZING, NOT CORRUPTED, FAIR leader who can bring justice. We need a strong system which cannot be bribed easily. We need someone who is not scared easily.

I wish there was a drug which can make people feel human emotions like empathy and I want to administer those to those heartless men. I am sure technology can so something about that.

I agree with the standardized medical check-up. There has to be one way to examine the patient which is less painful for them.

achcha Shreyu, why u think i won't recognize you? 😆 i mean why i wld even forget you,plz tell me this first! 🤔 of course i rem you hun! 🤗

yah i honestly feel so .. like we r taught this way ..even we r in 20th century and girls r comfortable to wear short dresses more often ..but ultimately they don't know how to respect fellow women and when time comes they turn their backs .. it may sound harsh but true ..not only this, they r not even near aware about themselves .. what is the point if we keep complaining(as things r not so easy to change) .. i would request girls to be more practical and side their ego or anything which makes them unaware about themselves .. ball is not in your court so plz wake up and be more logical and practical .. :)
