Ah, I won't be able to get back in time, so let me just post my reactions to 8.10 now. In light of the latest news, 8.10's ep has new perspective. Ranjana, I completely understand your Vihaan and Aarushi happiness in the 8.10 ep. ❤️
Will come to them in a bit. Why is Doc's convo with Dadi Ma a mystery? 😕 Of course, the vampire gets her usual tedious comic routine. She goes to some kind of file room or storeroom, looks around the room and asks, "Where is Vihaanji?" Yes, you loony tune, he'll wander into a random room, curl himself up in a fetal position sucking his thumb, waiting for you to find him. Do the CVs really think we will tolerate this Wacko keeping Vihaan, Aarushi, and the Vatsal women under her foot for episodes on end when her brain can barely figure out 1+1=2? Not sure what's worse -- her stupidity or the CVs' tongue-in-cheek admission they've written such a stupid vamp that her own lackey plans to blackmail her. 🥱 Girish-Karuna's scene was a blink-and-miss (I'm not complaining. 😆). On to our babies...
Masala chai run! Sweet! I did wonder if Mugdha's tweet & pic on 8.1 was a hint and so it was. It truly was so nice to see Vihaan finally smile a real smile. Familiar parts of himself broke through his haze. I really like how the shelter from the rain scene played -- Aarushi's restrained yet obvious love and longing for him + his confusion over his automatic comfort with her + his happiness to experience this part of his world because of her and with her without pressure + their awareness of their chemistry. She looked love-struck and he looked so content. ❤️Standing ovation to Ravish and Mugdha! They had to manage a delicate balance in feelings in all their scenes. Always going far beyond the writing in quality and depth.
No actual convo yet. Can't get Vihaan-Aarushi or Vihaan-Moms to have a decent convo but we are given constant newsflashes of all the Wacko's idiotic thoughts. 🥱 Nevertheless, Vihaan shutting her up in Aarushi's defense was very satisfying. 😃 Small battles need to be won first in order to win the war, and that's Aarushi's philosophy. Needs to happen more often and next time he needs to leave Wacko's sorry behind on the road. With these CVs, just when we think we've seen light, disappointment abounds. At the very least, the writing is allowing him to see what a shallow, condescending twit she is.
Ranjana, that dinner scene was mind-numbing. Why is she wiping his chin from spilled water? Again, treating him like a child. He's not a baby. I know their initial reaction is out of concern for Aarushi having to watch that nonsense, but even his Moms, who typically smother him, couldn't fathom her fake drama. Why is this even in the script? He has lost his memory, not regressed to infancy.
On the preview, Sidney, I agree something will happen or be done, causing Aarushi to stay. On how long the Wacko is here. Wish we knew. The best option may be to write her out before the 200th. But won't be surprised if she's here until the end of August, probably into the 200th.
For me, the striking irony about that preview is that Vihaan is actually acting like Aarushi's husband by insisting she be on leave now instead of working until her due date. His motivation comes from a pure place. He's arguing out of care for her well-being, not knowing that supporting the Wacko's suggesting is just playing into her plan. To play into the start of his draw to Aarushi, might have been more interesting for Vihaan to instantaneously dislike the idea of sending Aarushi away, be adamant about her staying, eager to find ways to make her stay easier, and suggest Wacko help around the house more (😆). Having him repeatedly play into the Wacko's hands is off-putting even though we know Aarushi stays. Freeing him from the monster seems to be where they're heading, but we'll need stronger reassurances through scenes that show him asking more questions, seeking Aarushi out more, and seeking his Moms out. Give him more opportunities to see the Wacko's foulness, and show him detaching himself from her, even before his memory returns. IMHO, by the end of this, the point must be crystal clear -- he will always choose Aarushi, even if he never gets his memory back. For whatever time this show has (TB says it's until early Sept) and for all things sacred, let the show be about Vihaan-Aarushi's marriage again.
