@peacejoylove - I still watch the episodes religiously coz am addicted to ArHaan ๐ but after getting the off-air news, I've lost interest in analysing the epis or even thinking about them. It was okay as long as we just suspected that show was going to end shortly. But now that the writing is on the wall, we know this is not a natural conclusion to the tale, since the main crux of the story was barely touched. I don't like being force-fed an ending. It's an old habit that I can't get rid of ๐ but I won't become inactive here or anything. Will pop in frequently to share my thoughts on the show, ArHaan and Mugs-Ravish and I hope you guys will do the same ๐ณ
Yesterday's episode - my heart went out to Vihaan when Kasturi slapped Aarushi He is so adorable and pure of heart โค๏ธ While watching the show, my mom and me used to discuss how he seemed to be the only real "man" on TV, striking the right balance between gentleness and grit. I don't think I've ever loved a male lead the way I've loved Vihaan. Sigh! ๐ญ And I was actually sort of pleasantly surprised by the tactic Aarushi used ๐ It was a little nasty, but then I've always had a liking for heroines who follow the "All is fair in love and war" approach ๐๐ (probably one of the reasons I adored Mugdha's Sanyogita in PRC๐ณ๐). That is why I hated it when they tried to make her a Mahaaan character in between. But this Aarushi - the one who plots and plans and schemes - I like her๐๐
Zee's involvement in this mess is a certainty. I've connected some big and small dots and now I think the decision to end this show must have been taken in June ๐ค, and irrespective of what diplomatic quotes we get in articles, I'm very sure the decision doesn't have much to do with ratings. And even apart from those dots, some aspects of this situation are quite suggestive. Invariably, news of a show being pulled off comes days after promos of a new show start airing. Here, the off air news came first, and we're yet to see promos of the show that is going to replace SS. And as for ratings - SS is second in its slot. Shows on Star Plus and Sony are worse off. And also, gossip about a show being in trouble comes in bursts over a period of weeks, and then the final announcement comes. Here, the final decision was given outright. We fans were apprehensive about its fate, but until the IF article, there was no indication at all in the media that SS was in trouble. The whole situation stinks to high heaven ๐ณ
Story-wise, you're bang on about "Priyanka" being responsible for destroying this show. And during her Awful and seemingly Never-ending track๐คข, the PH and CVs went all out to promote her in the media as though she was the lead of the show๐ I don't think even the current psycho is eating up as much screen space as that disgusting woman did
Other shows... I don't know enough to comment, because ever since PRC, I've only followed Hindi shows in which Mugdha is the female lead, and even among those, I've only followed one or two until the end. Apart from her shows, I watched two shows in which I was very impressed by the male lead. But those too were ruined at some point, and I had to stop watching. No matter how much I like a show, even if there is one single scene/track between the leads that I don't like (for example - forced or "revenge" marriages/ mistresses/ extra-marital affairs/ divorces and remarriages every few weeks/ miscarriages/ abortions/ witchcraft/ too much violence and gore/ supernatural stuff/ physical abuse and torture in the name of romance), I stop watching the serial overnight๐I wont give it a second look, even if it features Mugdha. So SS has been a delightful and rare experience for me ๐๐ณ Though a lot of stupid stuff happened "around" them (and barring this current track), Vihaan and Aarushi's love story has remained intact :) That is a very precious occurrence in the history of Hindi serials ๐
