THE PROPHECY - PART 10

Roli SHRIEKS.

Siddhant's attention darts from the road to the accomplice beside his car and to his rear view mirror.

Thorough the mirror, he can see Balram and his other accomplices close in really fast. It won't be long before they catch up with them.

SIDDHANT: Down!!!

Roli holds her head and ducks.

The man waves his rod but is surprised as Siddhant ---

--- cuts his car sharply to the left and plummets into his bike.

The accomplice's control over his vehicle wavers. It wobbles violently, threatening to lose control. There is utter panic in the man's eyes. He struggles to regain control of the bike.

Roli picks up her head and watches the scene in horror.

Siddhant dives once again into the assailant's bike. This time, it hurtles head over heels and mercilessly smashes its rider to a pulp on the streets.

Siddhant is visibly relieved. He just managed to brush one pest off his back!

Roli on the other hand freaks out at all the blood and gore.

ROLI: Oh my Gawwd! Oh my Gawwwddd!

SIDDHANT: Don't look! Close your eyes!

ROLI: Oh my God! Oh my Gawdd!

TZANG! TZING! SMASH!

Siddhant and Roli cower.

More bullets shower into the car. Balram and his mate closes in. Two in total.

SIDDHANT: (gnashes his teeth) Dammit!

ROLI: (looks around) Oh my Gawddd!

SIDDHANT: (frustrated) Will you just stay calm?

Siddhant shifts into the fifth and gives the car all what he's got.

Roli is thrown back onto her seat as the car breaks into top speed and zooms towards a busy traffic junction.

Siddhant doesn't seem to take the blinking green light in front of them seriously warning them that it was high time for them to pull to a stop. But he keeps going!

The vehicles packed into the other lane get their green and begin to move across the road, almost blocking their path.

ROLI: (shocked) What are you doing?

Siddhant doesn't answer. His knuckles are pale as he clenches his teeth and SLAMS down on the pedal. All what he cares about is getting past the vehicles without getting hit to the empty stretch of road right in front of them!

The green light on their lane is now RED.

But he still doesn't stop.

The vehicles from the other lane move in half way through.

ROLI: Are you crazy? What're you doing? Can't you see the red light? Stop the car! You'll get us killed!

It's hard to say who is senseless here... Roli, who doesn't realize what they're up against or Siddhant who doesn't realize what he's taking a nose dive into?

The speedometer clocks in at 160 km/hr

He ignores the traffic moving in and jumps the red light!

Roli is mad with fear!

Their car heads straight for the empty road ahead of them!

Vehicles HONK furiously!

Roli SCREAMS as a truck closes in, ready to plunge into the center of their car!

Siddhant screws his eyes shut and lets the car take its own course. If we make it, well and good. If we don't, well... at least we don't get shot to death!

The truck closes in... inches away from the trunk of their car.

Roli's frightened SCREAMS resonate like a nightmare.

Siddhant can see nothing but pitch darkness. He has his eyes screwed shut and his hands clenched tightly around the wheel!

The truck BLARES its horn like a humongous ship, just bare inches away from hitting them!

ZWOOP!!!

They make it past the traffic to the empty stretch of road in front of them, unscathed!

Roli still hasn't stopped SCREAMING!

Siddhant finally opens his eyes, gasping in relief. He slows down as he realizes that their pursuers were finally left behind.

ROLI: Stop the car! Stop the car!

SIDDHANT: It's okay. Just calm down. It's okay. It's okay!

ROLI: Stop the car! Now! Sto----

Roli flicks open the window and begins to throw up violently.

BWAHHRRR--- BWAHHHRRR---

Siddhant slows down and pulls up away from traffic.

Roli, hit by the violent jerks of the car can't help but feel nauseous! She stumbles out and begins to throw up violently on the nearby bushes.

Siddhant pulls out his reserve of bottled water, steps out and walks around to get to Roli.

He pats and strokes her on the back as she continues to barf.

SIDDHANT: (strokes her gently) Hey, you okay?

She just heaves as an answer, still tempted to throw her guts out of her mouth.

SIDDHANT: (opens the bottle) Here, have some water.

Roli can hardly stand. Her knees tremble from the intense surge of adrenaline pulsing through her body. She is still in a state of shock.

SIDDHANT: Drink some water, you'll feel better.

But, she straightens up, turns around and walks back to where they came from!
