Actress Pooja Kanwal's glowing. She just tied the knot with her boyfriend Avinash Mahdani a few days ago .

Her reception saw a good turnout of people from the entertainment and business world. Imran Khan with girlfriend Avantika came to wish the couple. Also present were Ragini, Jayant Kripalani, Sharmila Thackeray, Kunika Laal, Deeya Singh, Supriya Pilgaonkar Laali Dhawan, Richa Sharma among others.
On the work front, Pooja recently quit the serial Palampur Express. "I needed time for my wedding preparations," she says.

"Since there was no bank of episodes, we were shooting round-the-clock and I had no time at all. So I spoke to the producers and we decided to change my track. It was all amicable," she says. Acting is very much on and she might take up another TV show soon. "I'm in talks for a couple of projects," says Pooja, who's also done films in Hindi, Punjabi and down South.

Pooja Kanwal Mahtani has reason to be excited. The actress, who got married recently, is back on the small screen with her show Sasural Genda Phool.

And this time, the pretty Pooja gets to share screen space with none other than her own mother — Anita Kanwal! "I play one of the three bahus in the house and my mom plays my husband's nani. We have worked together in a Punjabi film together earlier but never on television," says Pooja. The actress reveals that it's not just her mom who gives her tips while shooting, rather, all the actors in the show are quite helpful and generous with tips and advice.

That, according to me, along with the bonding we all share on the sets in real, is the USP of the show," she adds. Not just that, real life seems to be going parallel with reel, as Pooja gets set to welcome a new member to her household as well as in her show. "In the show, there's a new bahu coming to the house and in real life too, my husband's brother is getting married soon," she says. This show is turning out to be quite a family affair for Pooja, we say!
