Pooja Kanwal, Actress Holi is my favourite festival! It is the festival of color and brings a lot of joy. I love the spirit of Holi and the way it brings people together. Almost everyone is in a 'masti' mood on Holi. I love dancing to songs like 'Rang Barse'etc. And one can't forget the food like gujiyas, which taste even better after playing with colours and water all day. As a child, I remember filling water balloons and the excitement of buying pichkaris and celebrating for almost a whole week. I also love gulaal. Holi is the one day when one can enjoy really going out without dressing up and with absolutely no make up! This Holi is very special for me for two reasons. One, as it is my first Holi after marriage. Secondly, my new serial, Sasural Genda Phool, is launching on the day of Holi! In fact, I'm shooting for Holi with our entire cast, so I will actually be celebrating Holi twice this year! The only thing I would like to add is that this year my friends, family and I have decided to play a dry Holi as with the water problems that we have, wastage of water cannot be justified. We will also play with herbal 'gulaal' which comes off easily and does not damage the skin. I dislike it when people get rowdy and play dirty with eggs, tomatoes and beer. Also, one should not get too drunk; be high on the spirit of Holi itself! |
