Keen eye ka toh pata nahi. Arshi, I promised to be on the forum as long as there is CB and I am trying to keep my word. But I can not promise to watch the episodes on a daily basis.

Honestly, I do not like the way my favorite writer shows relationships, butchers characters and brings completely illogical twists and turns in the story and characterizations for TRPs, his love for the antagonists and his sadistic leanings. I especially dislike his portrayal of women. I will never forgive him for what he did to Arhi characterizations. I am aware that the channel and PH had a hand in that as well and my feelings for those two are not a secret. But he wrote and he could have handled it differently...

Its usually not easy for me to like a female lead of a desi show ... I did like Kumud in the beginning. I do not recognize her anymore. IMHO, none of the characters can be redeemed and the story has gone for a toss.

Kalika as the Desai wohu inciting and creating problems, Kumud believing Pramad, not giving him divorce and the worst one - Kusum falling in divine love with her jija... there is no going back from that one! Plain cringeworthy. I do not feel like watching and definitely do not feel like analyzing a scene, the dialogues or any situation/track anymore. Why waste time when I can rant so much even without watching 😆😆

BTW - RR promo was nice, SI looked beautiful but me not planning to watch thanks to writerji.

Edit - how could I forget... had to add the part in red...

There comes a time when suddenly you think why u are putting up with this crap. Lot of illogical and immoral stuff like Nandy said.

I thought abt it and realized that for me it is

A habit that is weaning slowly.

Coming to CB is a habit. Coming to OSJs thread too.

These habits take time.

Also, Saras the character is standing like a rock. So that is making me somehow hang in there. But its less of interest in the show and more abt chatting here.

Btw, actor playing dadaji is awesome.

Nandy, Santhi,
While I agree to all your points, Nandy, but to date it still remains a story that's has purity at its core

And that is due to Saras, and though you may not agree , Kumud, for Jo bolo, ladki main dum hai

She was always a mastarni, the one who would wield the danda in the relationship, right from the start

And Santhi, in the larger framework, it's still the story of Saras and Kumud, and I feel that's the main

draw, not CB or janu, we will be here as long as the cvs keep it about Saras and Kumud.

The day it stops being about them, we shall all pack our bags and quit, for as Hgg said, it shall be

Another saathiya bhabhi behna etc.

And though Hegde lets the baddies off too easily, and hauls the goodies over too many hot coals,

that's what keeps us hating the baddies and keeps our emotions charged.

As we see more and more of kusum, her situation has parallels to Kumud's early marriage days,

or anti-parallels more appropriately, but what has made a deep impression on me is the complete

contrast in the personality of the sisters,

One, the original, spunky, strong and realistic, standing tall and independent,

The other - the parchai, like a parchai, has no consistent form or thought, pliable,

and cannot exist on her own, must always follow the form of the body,

and needs a floor or a wall on which she can manifest herself,

I think, Saras and Kumud are equals in love, in character , in values , in personality,

Yet contrasting in mood, means and method

As they say 36 ke 36 gun nahi Milne chahiye, 33 Inke Milte hain ,

Isi liye hum hain yahan

Waise aaj Kal see saw main I am on the centre, in love with both Kumud and Saras

Arshi,

I am not upset with kumud now. Nakhre dikha rahi hai but she knows saras's plan is more feasible.

I was talking about recent past when I said saras is like a rock.

I totally agree saras n kumud are in a league of their own. And they complement each other so well. They are a rare find in the current generation and many notches above others.

Saras ko kumud ke gusse mein pyaar achhi tarah se nazar aata hai. Aur kumud ko saras par Nakhre dikhana accha lagta hai. I actually liked her last week n today.

Leads are the only reason we are still here. And still is the keyword.

I can say with my limited experience that a show that runs only on leads' characterization is bound to fade in terms of interest. For people like me. Tvts seem to say otherwise. Leads can't carry the show. Story has to. Now, other characters are reduced to mere props. This started when pramad came in. It was only pramad, kumud n saras.now kusum is so poorly etched as a character that she is not making the impact CVS would want to.

Yeah, about the kusum factor, in the hands of a different writer even this track could have been handled differently and less stomach-churningly... She could have had these "feelings' and kept them to herself, with Saras and/or Kumud finding out by themselves... But that would have been less TRP-dramatic than a suicide bid! 😛 have to confess I've never ever been so involved in a show before that I cared about the writing.. Hats off to Utkarsh Naithani and subsequent writers for demonstrating what the right writer can do! And it was a case of Before and After like in the ads, but in reverse order - amazing👏 Before, and alas😲 After

Also I'm perplexed by the upward trend of the show's ranking, not only in the TVT world but also here. It's up to 6 now (just one below that marvellously named IPKKND-EBP..😊)

Lovely bytes!!! Watched all Saras scenes and FFed the rest! Saras-Dadaji pairing is most heart warming ! 😊and love the way Dadaji understands Saras and Kumud !

Leaves us feeling happy happy! 😊

Since last week, I have kept my focus on Kumud-Saras and Saras-Dadaji. Shall stick to that resolution, since the other two Ks spoil my mood no end

Loved to read everyones posts! THE most enjoyable part of SC, other than Saras, is CB 😊

Yeh lo. That's what I've been saying. When we are not happy with the current picture, we cling keeping big picture in mind and of course CB.

Arshi, see my comment on UN the original writer (and of course GMT). To a large extent, he (and they) was (were) responsible for us falling in love with Saras and Kumud. Even today the soul of the characters as they exist in our imagination is because of the way they were originally written.

When the current crop stray too far from the original sketch for commercial reasons, it obviously takes away from the watchability of these episodes and the show in general. I still watch, but there is not that unmissability that was here at the start. Even JA is more coherent than this. It is the pull of the lead actors and (you have to accept it...😊) CB that keeps me here.

@happychappy
I must give credit to SLB and the casting director for bringing in such fabulous cast . Specially Gautam Rode's whose physical description matches to that of Tripathi's Saraswatichandra . The promos mesmerized me so much that till this day I have not missed a single episode .
I do get upset and angry when the conniving negative characters always succeed in their evil schemes . Kusum is the most irritating character.
Precap seems to be very anguishing . What will be Kumud's reaction? Knowing Kumud she will once again start shouting at Saras . She is blind in her love for her sister . Keeping my fingers crossed that Kumud realizes that her pyari behana is schizophrenic.
Whatever, I will continue to watch in apprehension that one day the glorious characters of Saras and Kumudsundari will return to its original form.

Arshi--

You are being too modest...

Hand on Heart, nowadays I only see the show due to CB and not vice versa...😳

Your comments are the first level filter...basis which I decide to watch or skip an epi..

And then The CB discussions! ...which always elevate the show to something bigger and better than what it actually is...These temper the frustation of the mish-mash which goes on nowadays...

Left to its own...the show has stopped 'affecting' me a long time back...(That's a word I have discovered here thanks to Ivy!)

..And I am sure now that the future trendline is only down (narrative, characterizations, plots, production values, direction etc.) till it reaches mediocrity or below mediocrity even...The pace at which it goes down keeps fluctuating from epi to epi...I just hope they end it before it scrapes the bottom of the barrel...Kuch Toh Izzat Rahegi of its Legacy..

...And maybe that's why TVTs are going up...Its the Bell curve...The more mediocre the show is, the more it starts 'affecting' the average person in the center of the bell curve and the more the followers...

...CB and its denizens are the Outliers.. 😎

...And I wouldn't normally have even bothered wasting anymore bandwidth on this lost cause if not for CB..

👏
