dude jen and kumi is not the same thing...u dont HAVE to justify kumi to prove how awesome fan u r ok 😊.

i love Hrithik he is my first crush but no one can make me say ''Kites'' was a great movie 🤢.

but if..yeah i said if u think she was right and ''THIS'' was kumi's love this is how someone or kumi should love then god help u 😊
.

edit : i m loving this show and track too but my reason is different 😳.

Toni, very well said, in all this Jen and gauti as actors can't be faulted at all, they still bring all the intensity and passion to the screen

It's Kumud as a character that is the issue here.

Even more than Kumud, I feel it was poor writing, where writers want to show twists and turns, but don't care if it makes a mockery of their heroine and shows her up as selfish and weak.

I want to add that writers may not think that kumud is coming out as wrong. They probably think in a different way. That's the sad part.

That's exactly the point I too am trying to make Santhi. You have said so well,

What the writers portraying Kumud as is a volte face on what she was introduced to us as.

For me kumud sundari was that girl who refused to offer milk to the idol, who pooh poohed all convention and fought with the pundits.

This girl is not that Kumud. This one is a clone of tulsi virani , and that's what is upsetting me no end.

But Sudha, she had already announced to kusum that and her family that Saras would be marrying kusum, that means from her side the decision has been made and he is already in her mind kusums future husband and her jeeja.

She has also already announced to Saras that her destiny is with pramaad.

In this situation, it is a sacrilege to keep the Payal. After all Saraswati ma's ashirwad also should belong to kusum, and Kumud who has chosen to be with pramaad who is now seemingly a good man should not wear another man's jewelry.

And in fact it should have been a Payal handing over scene and not a feet touching scene, because she has no right to touch the feet of Saras and I am sure had kusum as his soon to be wife seen it, she would have been extremely upset, and justifiably so. And Kumud cannot have anything to do with Saras having decided to remain pramaad's wife. In that context, even the feet touching was incorrect and an inappropriate gesture.

Another ill thought out decision by Kumud , or just a case of poor writing by cvs who just go by formula - tears + sacrifice = TRP.

Arshi

I think if she had taken out the payal, the furore amidst viewers would have been way too much !

We are sure Saras will not marry Kusum. We know he will take the most sensible decisions. But for drama sake -that too deliberately on a friday the episode was stretched to Monday to keep the suspense. While I dont know why she touched his feet, if you watch the scene closely, when her tears fall on his feet, he all of a sudden comes to a decision and realisation. Thats when he lifts her !! I think that scene was more for Saras to take a decision!

I don't know, sudha, my reading of that feet touching was to plead to him to say yes to kusum, and as a part of the emotional blackmail she is subjecting him to.

So your interpretation makes sense. And we can leave the scene at that.

But then I read a lot of posts here saying that the feet touching signified their Radha Krishna eternal prem,

That to my mind is cheating, she can't have any Radha Krishna prem now for Saras, if she has decided on this. This interpretation is really upsetting me, that somehow it was not ok for kusum to love Saras like Kanha, but it's ok for Kumud to love Saras like Kanha.

It's not , not after she has already informed kusum that Saras is going to marry her - commit kar diya hai usne , ab yeh sab paap hai

Arshi ji, that gesture of touching feet was a mixture of showing her gratitude towards his magnanimous decision to marry her sister and apologetic for coercing him into submission. Because at that point she thinks he's acquiesced in her emotional torture.
One thing that made that scene indigestible was that Saras was actually deciding at that moment in front of the idol "help me choose between love and duty." Why should marrying Kusum be his duty to fulfill? At that precise moment madame dharmadhikari enters and he sort of gets his answer. The chronological order of events is a bit suspicious. So what exactly did he mean when he'd told "Kusum psycho would marry someone who would keep her happy"? Was he thinking of marrying her at that point?!

Getting back to the whole feet touching thingy, I personally hate that concept in our tradition that women must be subservient to men. This feet touching is one such custom that attests to that injunction. Nobody should touch anyone's except for their parents feet to get aashirvaad is my opinion. But I do get that, that particular scene gives an illusion of poignancy to a certain faction of viewers which I can effectively filter out without bothering. They've already killed Kumud for me to really bother about her histrionics any more. In all this, it's surprising to see that she hasn't asked Mr not so Dharmadhikari to adorn her neck with the mangal sutra. Maybe she would, on Monday.

Shrija, I share your views on feet touching of pati thing.

And I felt that by touching his feet she was kind of begging him to agree, so I just pushed the scene out.

My reaction is to the interpretation of this scene as Kumud's Radha like devotion towards Saras.

That I feel would be very inappropriate of Kumud because now she must look at Saras as kusums husband and not as her Kanha

It can't be wrong for kusum to look at Kumud's husband, but divine for Kumud to look at kusums husband with devotion and reverence.

What's wrong for one sister is equally wrong for the other.

As long as the writers don't spell it out explicitly that Kumud is Radha, it's open to interpretation, I guess😆

As for her touching his feet, at that point he was technically not her jijaji. So it's OK I guess? She was too burdened to say "Thank you" and hence the feet touching to show she's equally shattered by her decision?

I don't understand, what's so wrong in touching another man while one's married? Is it a sin or something? Excuse my naivete, I am not really aware of these things😳

The reason I thought she didn't let him touch her at BD's was because she was genuinely trying to move on and Saras was being a distraction in that process (both physically and emotionally) and not because she was socially bound or something.

Shirja

I would like to give Saras the benefit of doubt! Since (as a diehard Saras fan) his taking a decision may not be wrt Kumuds request of marrying Kusum. When he says, in the previous scene, that Kusum will marry one who will keep her happy, he looks at Kumud straight in the eye. he appears to have made up his mind, then that it wont be him. Kumud assumes it is him!

His duty, as the "beta of the desai family" and his commitment to Kumud as his love, he wanted to take the right decision, for both! I would like to believe, he wasnt even contemplating marrying Kusum! We were led to believe he was !!

If I dont make sense, blame it on my love for Saras ! 😆

I agree with you Sudha,

I think he understood the crux of Kumud's problem , that of finding a good match for kusum who will make her happy.

His love versus his farz - should he give in to Kumud's wish or should he point blank refuse, this does not really mean that he contemplated marrying kusum, it was just the torture of seeing Kumud in pain.

I think he was so determined not to give up on Kumud, at the same time solving her problem and easing her pain, that he decided to find a positive win win solution to this.

He does feel responsible for Desais and kusum, he meant when he said that he will support kusum if she is in trouble, so he will not walk away from that duty of his.

He just hated seeing Kumud like that, and was reacting to that.
