Even the film was made to send a message across to SOCIETY. Although Gandharva Vivah had heavy significance even in the show, it isn't considered socially acceptable, which in the end of the film, stayed true because socially speaking, SaMud could never unite. What does that mean? Society doesn't care about whatever these two may share, it only, realistically, cares about what is socially acceptable. I'm not saying I agree with what society says, because I also believe in love. But whatever Kusum feels, she feels. And I can't weigh that as insignificant for the SaMud jodi. That's like saying Chandramukhi should stay out of Paaro and Devdas' saga... uh no, She was the one who was there for Deva when Paaro couldn't be.
In other shows, there's this concept called shipping. That even if there's a suggestion that two people could get together, you can "ship" them together, or want them together.
Just like some people wanted Kalika and Pramad together, others would like to see Saras and Kusum together... I could ask the same question for Kalika and Pramad, too. What really suggested that what Pramad felt for Kalika was love? Was it one sided? Was it give and take? What was it? People still loved the concept of them coming together, too. So why is this any different?
Infatuation or not, as a character with heavy importance in the novels, it'd be so awesome if there wasn't so much hate for her as there was for Pramad. She's a grey character. Let's stop making this a black and white situation because it's not.
Thanks for your input! 😊
