I was wondering the same. Well, Krishna did steal makhhan from everyone including gopis young and old. But wife offering butter to husband as a symbol of surrender/acceptance? Didnt hear before. CVs are taking it too far or are too confused.
One of the esoteric meanings behind stealing butter is(from internet - i knew but didnt know how to put it in words).
"Milk matures and transforms into curd. By chruning the curd - butter gets separated and begins to float. This is what krishna is after.A devotee's mind is compared to milk which through constant devotion matures and slowly he begins to separte himself from wordly attachment, friends and families like butter separting from curd. At this stage, the devotee need not have to go insearch of his lord instead lord himself comes to him. This is the meaning behind krishna going after butter."
