Absolutely loved the scene. I almost felt like the CV's were telling Kumud's maang was filled by Saras before, she had accepted him as her husband. Pramad filled her maang with khoon but today unknowingly he replaced it with sindoor. When he says he mistook her bikhra sindoor for khoon, lekin sindoor hi hai...it felt like for sometime Kumud for lost in this khoon bhari maang but now her sindoor is back in her forehead, rightfully at it's place. Sapne hai ye mere 😉

😆 I think handing her the sindoor was that he will help her preserve her marriage, and work with her on that! He will not force her for something she's not ready for
Oh no Arshi, I didn't mean he was implying in that way by giving her the sindoor. I felt like maybe it was the CV's way of telling us Kumud is still Saras's Kumud. Mein ne kaha na sapne hai mere. He has accepted that she is not his and he will help her as she wants. She wants to fulfill her duties as a DIL of this house and he will help her in that. He is not expecting anything in return, if she becomes the old Kumud he would be satisfied with it.

Excellent post Arshi! It really topped of the episode nicely! 👏

Alas we see the benefits of being a (former) sanyaasi. The self reflection Saras is doing is phenomenal... We can see it shine through is persona internally and externally.
Again, I really have to say WOW to the characterization of Saras. To show you the extent of my awe, I would like to tell you that one of my absolute favourite films is "the Godfather" because of the excellent portrayal of the many inner and outer dimensions of Michael Corleone. The self reflection, the rigorous inner change and it's manifestation physically through his actions, his words were so relatable... so apt to reality.

And since I've watched "the Godfather" the first time around, I've never been fully satisfied with any characterization of any protagonist... until Saraswatichandra came around, of course. The fascination of watching Saras is equivalent to Michael Corleone for me. Just the message that comes across with Saras; the strong will, rationality, and tenderness attached to the storm of emotions that is he are so brilliant to watch! His characterization really does go through each and every fibre of Saras' being... and I still don't know how Gautam manages to live Saras so well. 👏

For me, today's episode was just another part of "The Hero's Journey." Saraswatichandra is doing his own deep reflection... going through his "inner cave" as Joseph Campbell describes in his study describing the "Hero with a Million Faces" and he's coming out of it triumphant: a rational, all-knowing man. Today was another episode that highlighted why this show is about the male lead, and I've been left with a very satisfactory taste. Well done CVs for such banging portrayal, well done Gautam Rode for breathing Saras, and well done Arshi for topping off my cake of delight with such a garnishing post! 😳

Yes, Arshi...
Agree with Saras backing off, It is much more serious than playing cat and mouse games.
Kumud clearly has sensed, Saras came back for her, hasn't she? She would be in pain to hear the story but would not forgive him for breaking the rishta. No point in bringing out his story now, let her pour out anger. She was on some talking terms y'day, today even accepted something from him.

I love it when writers come up with something to feed the masters here.
Loved various versions of interpretation of khoon and sindoor.

Not liking the other colors on her though. Ugly colors provided by BD family. Deliberate torture by ?creative designsers.

Waiting to watch what other wonderful hues Saras will give her.

Why do I get a feeling, relegating the other characters and side tracks to oblivion, they a trying to wrap up the serial quicker?

nice post as usual, now this is called more mature way to handle kumud's issue...before he was being overprotective about her, forgetting that he is not related to kumud anymore, he is just an ex boyfriend who does not even have the rt to stay in her in law's house, never mind correcting pramad for abusing his wife!

i guess kumud has shown his rt place in her life, now he will handle it his own way keeping kumud's maan marayada intact, just like a good friend!

Very good episode.
I felt he was standing tall when Kumud was giving him an earful except when she talked about the phone call(where he was wrong completely) because he knew she was saying because she didn't know the entire truth. Truth is that before Kumud came into his life, he wasnt given a chance to sustain a relationship. But knew the actual reason for her outburst. She needed to salvage this relationship however messy it was. For her parents.
Handing her Sindoor can be interpreted in many ways. First was that he realizes he was putting unecessary pressure and wants to correct that by giving her the idea. The rest are many.
Like this Saras who is in much more control of himself.

It is turning out to be quite a story isn't it! Of two people who are fighting the most difficult kind of battles there are - those of the mind, fighting with self, for their loved ones, battles that are invisible to others, yet go to shape our lives and our destinies!

And Saras is a complex character, far more than Kumud, for his actions have to be judged not on their own merit, but always in the context of his past.

It's a character who is continuously being chased by the demons of his path and is slowly progressively learning to stand strong and face them.

I often wonder what made team SLB narrow down on Gautam? How did they know that he would live Saras this way, with all his fears, phobias, goodness, weaknesses, and all the shades and hues?
I am sure he has exceeded their expectations! I, for one day after day continue to be surprised by both - Gautam the actor and Saras the character!

And I think another strength of the show lies in attracting people like you all, I learn something new every day every episode!

Thanks for the info on " the heros journey" - completely new for me, and what I read on the wiki just now has just whetted my appetite for more! I need to read up more on this! Thanks Veera

You are right Santhi, there are multiple interpretations of sindoor, one of them could be gracefully accepting the change in their realtionship status, she is married and that will redefine their relationship, it will also mean backing off his former aggression towards Pramaad, one small gesture that accomplished so much, but what I loved most was, that it still did not diminish or trivialize the abuse, he will still make her fight against that! I love this show!

Wow.

Thanks, Veera! You said it, for all of us who watch and wonder how Gautam does it!

And the writers CV's for making Saras' journey into this totally addictive show... The bare bones of story would have left many of us yawning, but the way they write and present it, we watch and re-watch..! As Ivy would put it, "standing, fricking ...ovation!"! is too little for them!!!
