As long as they do not foist Kusum on Saras😡 and pramad does not start liking Kumud😒, I have all the patience in the world to wait for the ultimate coming together of Saras and Kumud.

The story could go anywhere from here isn't it?

Last two episodes, sympathy for pramaad is building, kusum is back on screen, Saras is lonely and in pain

Aage ka track kuch bhi ho sakta hai... Lets see what more pain and heartbreak are we in for

My favorite romantic story, and kumud seems to be going thru these feelings! but smrth, having said that, is Kumud's ongoing obsession with Saras right? Why is she not thinking of her marital status, and her position as the bahu of the house?

Because arshi...there is no official 'marital' status...Pramad:
- doesn't want to be her husband
- has made it clear that he wants no relationship with her
- she's the enemy / 'thing'
- he's happy having an affair with the maid
- in this epi indicated that he wished she was dead...

Even if kumud wants to build up a new life, her marital partner is saying nopes...

Typically a bride (specially in an arranged marriage) first builds a relationship & understanding with her hubby and then with her new family...that's not happening...

So since her love is not resetting, she's left with the past...

AND which is in her face - following her around like a puppy and with a puppy face...
ALL the time, everywhere she goes...
- at morning breakfast
- when she's chilling with her MIL (house tour, gift unwrapping, other ladies meet, etc.)
- outside her bedroom
- outside the house (puja)
- in her living room
- even when she goes to her FIL's office!
- and now even in the frikking kitchen (Precap)!!!!!

At the risk of offending all the fans, let me say this in the nicest way possible and best intentions in mind (Hand on Heart)...

1) saras is now like a virus in full bloom...continuously morphing and embedded into the lifeblood of her new household ...so everywhere she turns there is Mr. Puppy Face...

Like the Agent Smith from The Matrix Trilogy...everywhere kumud turns, there he is..
😉

2) I am getting tired of this track...it's going nowhere...to the CVs my request would be to please move it forward...let this guy apologize ...it has been going on on a 'Will They - Won't They' mode for far too long...

..We had the "Will They - Won't They see each other", followed by the "Will He - Won't He stay", followed by the "Will she - Won't she talk to him" to now "Will they - Won't they apologize"...

And all we have is incessant crying in between...

...Like they say in Mumbai slang for when you linger too long on a point..."Chal hataa, Ab hawaa aane de"...roughly meaning "You were blocking my way when you were making your point . You have made your point and I have got it / responded. Now please move away (on), and get out of my face..so that the path is clear for the cooling effect of the breeze to start (I can move on)". It also means if you haven't made your point till now, I am not even interested anymore.

3) I just don't get the BD - Saras bonding logic...what is the basis of this??
- BD is a high profile and 'astute' politician, so is his daughter
- They picks up an injured guy from the road and bring him home...ok so far
- But no background checks, no trying to find where's he from!!
- Of the 2 points shown - saras helping in a dam project is hardly something which will inspire him to consider him as his son equivalent...If this was the case, every third person would be like his son..
Of the other one - saving kumud - I can understand gratitude - but a son equivalent!... Hardly...
And now he wants saras to 'look' after the household till he returns!!!!

If I were Pramad, I would be pissed too.

We also don't see saras doing anything either to inspire this son equivalence in BD...all he does is follow the DIL around...

so sorry...but this logic ki vaat and '1001 Ways to Cry' is getting to me now...

4) cost cutting is evident...BDs house has tacky furniture!...in some scenes I swear I could see the furniture wobble when kumud leaned on it!!

To tell the truth did not really enjoy the epi yesterday...there are so many high potential tracks in BD' family to explore here (Like they had done for the Desai's)...
- BD-Pramad
- Pramad-Mom
- Alak-BD
- Alak-Hubby
- Alak-Saras
- Pramad-Kumud
- Kumud-Kalika

But we are sort of stuck with all this crying business and at the same spot story-wise.

..it is becoming too repetitive and lessening the impact...

..for e.g. saras breakdown was a great scene, but I have seen him frikking breakdown and cry so many times since he's come here that the overall impact was just lost to me..

...which is really so sad..because when I look at the scene again...that scene was superb and gautam was mind blowing...but when I first saw it, fatigue had set in ...so while the mind is aware about the pain, the scene becomes one of many and the mind starts anticipating the next step...and wants to fast forward the epi / scene to reach the next step...I was literally thinking..."Yea, yea...I know...Chal Hataa, Ab Hawa Aane De"... 😔

Arashi-
For me personally, the only redeeming factor of yesterday's epi was the Meerabai bhajan you quoted...THAT to me captured the pain of what samud are going through better than the epi!!

I read it and then was "Really? Did I miss this nuance?" and believe me on this... I saw the epi and saras scene again. Crazy huh?!

😉

hgg, your post was really brave...and heartfelt... I suspect if I had to see all those tears not just read about it, I wd be in the same boat! (I haven't watched all this week, just reading IF threads to keep up, esp CB!)

Re above, Just as Saras was provided with adequate trauma to make his character more palatable, looks like the cv's are leaving no stone unturned to do the same for Kumud. If Pramad's character had any obvious redeeming features, then Kumud's way back to Saras wd have been next to impossible. ... Which is the cart, and which the horse? But definitely, and hopefully, all is wrapping paper for the core story!

Hotdogg,

Its not without reason that i called you Jadudar.

You are always able to pick out the underlying points that are bothering us all, lay them out, as theories, analysis or explanation as the need be.

Today again you did the same

All the subsurface irritants - you just put them out there and every point stuck a chord with me

For the last two epis I acutally have been sympathising with Pramaad, sach main sadak ke kinare mila koi insaan

apne bete se bada kaise ho gaya woh be ek choti si calculation karke?

Alak is too stoic or expressionless so no idea whats happening there

where are they going with this track no idea

The tacky BD house is not appealing

The track is again on a treadmill, lots of motion, but no movement

But we should get used to this rubber band effect by now

And thats what keeping me "unranted".

The fact that the CVs drag a track to extreme and when we are about to tear our hair out

Bang, they race to finish line, and start something amazing!

Also enjoying Kumud ki manodasha and saras ki manodasha, and all the complex emotions

can jhelo it a bit longer, before I too say "hawa aanede"

Arshi, the "Meera Bai" lines were beyond mere words 👏 The english translation, much appreciated too... Thank you =)

Today's episode was intimate, the optic but v selective. It belonged to three people.. Aanshul, Gautam and Jennifer. All three played their parts with utmost sincerity, emotion, passion 👏 But character wise, it was Saras' development that was highlighted.

Jennifer Winget, for "Bas! Uske baare mein ekk bhi shabd aur matt bolna" *standing-frickin-ovation*

Gautam Rode, for the rain sequence, and for the pain, angst, longing, & frustration, you brought into that one word, "KUMUD" *standing-frickin-ovation*

A note first: did not at all condone the violence. AT ALL. Did not like her backing down, submitting to the atrocities. But on a level, understood it. She is entirely adrift at sea. By virtue of Saras being there, she is all the more weak and resigned to her fate. Ironically, she is spending her strength on all the wrong reasons: Fighting him, seeking him, shunning him... Because HE overpowers her. And she is wasting her time battling that all-consuming feeling and alternately, inadvertently sinking into it. He, their love, that ehsaas is pulling her under and she can but only fight for so long. If there is one thing that J brought out REALLY well 👏 today, is that Kumud is trying. To the very best of her abilities, she is. But that everything else is dead set against her. Ever since the first night she entered the Dhan house, she was but swimming against the tide. It was hard work, but you could see her efforts and you could differentiate her stand. All that is but near impossible now. Kumud has been halved. Torn mercilessly down the middle, and the most heartbreaking sight is to see her desperately trying to rejoin the two pieces of her together, that too with a flimsy band-aid. Saras is like a wave, that has engulfed not just her, but this entire new world that she throught she could adapt and survive in. He has invaded her hellish "sanctuary" in the most complete way possible. Forget the ehsaas, now he is in person but everywhere she turns... And when she does not find him, even after she shuns, she anxiously seeks. That she has done before as well, and she cannot do otherwise now. Her emotions are having no respite, her resolves steadies one second, goes for a toss the v next. She has become a ticking time bomb of contradictions. But one day, even her anger, her contempt will reach tipping point, and from there on, Kumud would not be able to take solace in these visceral emotions no longer. She will have to face consequences head-on, for her and for others, as well.

It was good to see Kusum today, only if to bring another familiar face back into the action 😳 Also, it appears that Kusum has taken the Sherlock mantle from Guniyal; if G was so intent on investigating "damadji", Kusum is v astute in reading Kumud's signals. Right now, they are showing red to her and Kusum being Kusum, she will continue pricking that dam Kumud has been hiding the truth of her marriage behind. Even but a pinprick will make all the difference... All the Desai's need right now is just one glimpse through the fissure, to leave them heartbroken, convinced and reeling, that their daughter's life, they have all aided in irredeemably screwing up. Props to VC for hunting down the man with information to Pramad's true self... Here's hoping that the man does not evade, or make up the truth in order to be stupidly kind. Hoping a full body-blow of unchecked reality hits VC 👍🏼 Am confused as to why they left that nugget about Guniyal's ill-health hovering in the air like something bound to gain significance soon... Any heads-up from the source, smrth bhai? 🤔

Pramad-Kumud-Saras sequence: P views both Kumud and Saras as usurpers, but his innate hatred of S came out today which Kumud could not condone. Kumud, in her Beta state, has become an easy target for Pramad, the unfiltered catch-all for all his furstrations, his lawfully wedded punching bag. Everytime he is left feeling inadequate, he takes it out on Kumud, to make him feel as tho he is still in control, somewhere, somehow and of someone, at least. It really is an unfortunate situation for both involved, and for all his astuteness is a testament to how BD could be really cruel and unfeeling sometimes. He has made Kumud a lab rat for his social experiment of correcting Pramad and the most appalling thing is that he behaves as though he has no personal stake in the outcome. It is as tho he has just ticked off a box... Get son married. Chain "my dog" to someone he can tear into pieces whenever he is so inclined. And Pramad behaves exactly as per expectations. He considers Kumud, and marriage, a burden foisted upon him and in his sheer anger, removes the visible manifestation of that burden, not even realising what he has done... The only way Pramad will relieve his "burden" is if he himself unburdens this world. Was today hinting at that, only? Potential widowhood, for Kumud? Not only was this marker introduced but taken further with Pramad lying comatose on the bed, all in white (Dead?), while S and K convo played out. But then K shuts the door on S... Will she embrace widowhood? And then she breaking down while P is still lying "dead". In the morning no Pramad and then she seeks out S. Lots of questions... BUT also, too early to definitively call on that. Let's see if this marker gets revisited later. These are only first, impressions. Had to note down.

"Jao yahan se... Main, aur mere pati, akele rehna chahate hai"... She closes the door on him, with this one line, showing him his place and hurting him where it will hurt the most... His Kumud. By her own admission, because of his greatest sin, no longer his. Strong enough to move forward, the sight of him harnesses all her anger, and gives it a focal point. But once he is out of her line of sight, her weakness takes over... She breaks enough to retrace her steps, open the door and seek him out. If he was still waiting there, she would have again shut the door on his face. Sigh! The utterly unexplainable equation that these two share, defies every logic, and benchmark... Another special mention to "Kuch Na Kahe"... Nowadays that song has become so heartbreaking, that it ought to be outlawed! 🥺...

Saras, broke down today. His dam shattered. Because Kumud showed him a mirror. His actions, the gravity of his missteps, the consequences entailed for all were reflected back at him. And so was one other thing... Kumud. A Kumud no longer his. Only not by name, but still his by everything else, tho he remains unaware of it. But Saras is possessive, he cannot abide even the moon stealing glimpses of his Kumud and here, she locked himself with another man in a room, right in front of his face. The green-eyed monster had to come out, and also the realisation that he cannot do anything about it. Pramad is not some goon that Saras can beat to an inch of his life, he is Kumud's husband. But will Saras remember that fact when he sees Pramad for who he really is? If P views S as a usurper, well, the feeling just became mutual. For Saras, Pramad has usurped his claim. It will be interesting to see what dynamics now make a mark in future Pramad and Saras interactions. For Pramad, in addition to being his daddy's blue-eyed boy, Saras is also someone "samaan" came passionately to the defence of. Once his intoxication wears down, will P remember that? If not, there is always Kalika with the cup of morning chaii to help. She's a part of this messy nexus too.

And for Saras, P is not just K's husband, as a pure societal concept, anymore... He has become someone that Kumud has actively chosen over him. Someone that she elected to stay in a room with, while he was coldly shunned out. For him, to put it bluntly, shit just got real. In the pouring rain, drenching him, cleansing him, he had to face that fact, head-on. Think of Saras as the phoenix, risen from the majestic flames of the Kul Devi pooja, the broken-hearted boy, still pure and man enough to beg forgiveness with his gesture, still invested enough to gamble with his life for hers, still determined to bestow her with as many breaths of life as needed. And still intensely in love with her to persist in thinking of her as his. But Kumud has snatched that claim from him, while still keeping all her claims on him, jealously guarded. The phoenix that emerged tho, was still covered in the ashes of their sacred love, which no longer remains, by conventional definition, sacred. It is therefore apt, that in the rain, the cleansing happened, those ashes, bogging him down, were drained out... And as the rain cleared, the dawn came, the phoenix named Sar... ermm, Navinchandra walked anew.

The color red messily adorning her forehead, a reminder of failure and reality, and the red splattered across his, battle scars from the consequences of his choices. Her's was vindictively wiped off, his, the relentless rain, steadily washed away. A new forth... But for whom? The colours were especially intriguing, Pramad (the black hue) in white (death). And Saras (the angel) in green, when drenched looked black (the fallen angel). Kumud in green. Green for both Saras and Kumud, highlighting rebirth, renewal, but it is also the color of envy, of possessiveness, of haq's which both still strive to exert. The only difference is Saras' attempts are continously stymied while Kumud lets her claims run unchecked. Will the phoenix play Kumud at her own game now? Will Kumud be shown "the hand", metaphorically speaking? Will Alak, and his obligations consume S' time now, a merciful respite for him, how will K react to that? And will Pramad's future misdemeanor's bring him running back... K's eternal, hapless savior, just like she is his?

Final thoughts: That rain sequence appeared a pivotal turning moment for Saras' psyche. He looks as tho he will become more active in the workings of his destiny now. Even if it will all, in the larger picture, go in vain. Precap made me chuckle. Kumudsundari Desai, you and your games... 😆
