Let's just get that in to our brains, Kumud is NOT bubbly. She does not phudak around, she does not talk non-stop, she does not get herself in to all sort of messes and nor does she make clumsy mistakes. She is a level-headed & practical young woman, quite proudy with her nose slightly up in the air but all in good innocence but above of all she has this serenity and almost mysterious feel to her. She talks with power in her voice, she demands respect...not for petty arguments but because she values her and her family's respect highly.

Jennifer is not just any actress on the block, she has been in the industry for many years from a very young age and if there is any one from the leading actresses on TV who understands the nuances of the character, it's her. How anyone can question her ability is beyond me because this girl acts with such an oomph. Do you not see the pierced eyes when she plays the hurt Kumud? Do you not see the spark when she's in a mischevious mood? Do you not feel WOW when she speaks with a commanding voice.

I have probably seen more layers in Kumud's character in this one week than I have seen in a protagonist of 500 episodes. Please stop insulting the sketch of the character by putting her down as a 'bubbly' character because she really is not. She has a sense of childlike mischievousness but she is a grown woman with a curious charm.

Chilll yaar... The more you defend her , more you make critics skeptical.. let her and her work speak for herself .. defense works not in her favor.. the only and best way to change others opinion or garner that respect is if her work speaks for it.. and no not by relying on past laurels ..

Yes you are right abt the character.. she ain't bubbly .. she is different .. but personal view .. and i would say jenny nails the attitude part of it .. but then as an actor one needs to think about a lot of things .. a lot ..I for instance don't connect her with the entire household or the character sketch that she is from ratnagiri.. to me she is mumbai born and bought , a woman of grace .. now those are nuances..

But i wouldn't blame her much .. every single cast has dissapointed me so far.. even gautam ( the luck actor fo rhim being, he is supposed to be a closed book so he will get away with a lot of things) ..

Anyhow to sum it up.. she has been there in the industry for ages ..the only other work that i have seen i didn;t enjoy her.. but then she wasn't the original in that series..

She is one beautiful, graceful woman .. and i am sure she will do justice to her role.. but one man i really want to take all of these discussions on IF seriously is the director .. they need to be very very very meticulous .. and the writing department ..

Hey Reemz :) i miss ur JeeMan posts😆

@bold - i guess that is exactly what/ who Kumud is and the way Jenny is playing the role I think all that you mentioned in your post comes across quite clearly. What i'm liking the most is that I dont see one bit of Ridhima in Kumud so really kudos to Jenny

Very well expressed dear, n much needed too.

Completely agree with u.Might be ppl r not familiar with this kind of character coz either female lead is too serious and all or too bubbly , but Kumud is more of a extract of these too and Jenny is perfect for Kumud with her massive experience . They might need to give some time to understand Kumud character and more importantly an open mind rather than some pre-assumptions of what she should be like, than decide she is opt or not. Its no possible everyone like every single thing in show but v need to give some time before making final assumption.

exactly Reemz...Kumud isn't bubbly and innocent because she isn't supposed to be one in the first place...as simple as that!!

She is a matured, practical, level-headed girl and I cannot be happier about having such a powerful character on Inidan Television!!!

Ahhh I love your posts reema, thank God we have some sensible people like you over here. I agree with each and everything you said especially your "phudak around" sentence lmaooo.

Kumud is not bubbly at all !!! Where have they seen her jumping here and there, hugging everyone for no particular reason and being extra sugar coat sweet with everyone ? Never !! She's a lively person person who likes to have fun but doesn't mean she's doing all those crazy stuff. She's mature in her own way.

Every character has its own essence. very story has its own set of character and their characterization... Jenny is doing a pretty good job as kumud. i still think there will be lots of shades of kumud which is yet to be discovered. i sometimes dont understand why jump into conclusion before letting a character develop and in no episode she is shown bubbly and chirpy. she is much composed and ethical... its too early to pass any negative comment on any actor/actress when the age of the show is just 5 days 🤔

Hey reemz,Very good topic indeed.I have been replying to threads here & there that SHE IS NOT MEANT TO BUBBLY😆

I'll post my reply here which I posted in one of those topic😳

Kumud is a strong,level-headed girl who strongly believes in her values which Jenny shows aptly.I think she is an actress who can portray various facets to a personality.Since Kumud has so many different shades to her personality,Jenny portrays it perfectly. Many people are saying that Jenny doesn't look innocent but she has the most innocent looks with a different kind of sexiness as quoted by various magazines& other tellywood stars. Being a village girl doesn't mean, you have to be timid,soft-spoken and bubbly. This girl is educated, making her strong & firm in her views and has a never-say-die attitude, that is why she is shown mature and you can notice the confidence in the voice. Kumud is beautiful, and she knows it,she also knows that she is only girl in the village who is modern & has achieved so much and this fact makes her a little proud of herself.(this fact has been said by the makers😉) So as she thinks highly of herself(not in a bad way),she looses her innocent charm a little and the makers also do not want her to be shown as an innocent girl but a strong girl! She looks older than Gautam because she is shown to be mature & she acts older than her age. SC does not have a mother,so he did not have anyone to show him what is wrong or right, just some values which his mother taught him,and in the way that way he became an introvert. He feels lost in this world and alone.
Kumud has fought for education,to improve things in her village and this helped her gain experience and thus a certain maturity is seen on her face. That is why the symbolism of the sun& the moon.Saras has seen darkness all his life, and is serene like the moon while Kumud has seen the colours of life, hence vibrant like the sun. That is why SC's father thinks she is the best one to bring him back to life as he is quite detached from the real world. If you feel she looks older&mature than SC,that means she is playing her part well. Her part is NOT that of innocent, timid village girl but of a traditional, strong village girl.
This is SLB's version of Kumud! He has adapted Kumud to the current times.I also did not like find Gautam's acting good but after watching the show I feel he adapted to the role as SLB wanted him to and now I am liking how he plays his character.
