Reemz, I have to agree with you here! Even though, the show in general has not caught my fancy, I think Jennifer is just perfect for the role of Kumud! She is in fact the USP of the show!
And for all those who are saying that she is not bubbly (I am assuming in some other thread)...the character of Kumud is supposed to be of a very high-minded, intellectual and serious girl. That is how the author of the novel had concieved her and that is how SLB has portrayed her! (Watch the movie SaraswatiChandra and notice Nutan's character...you will understand what I am trying to say!)Jennifer not just has the physical attributes to play the role (except for the mindless styling that I think is the creative's doing!) but has that certain graceful and dignfiied look about her which makes her a sure shot hit for the role!Personally speaking, I am sick and tired of seeing over-enthsiastic, chirpy heroines who talk nine to the dozen and generally act like they are 7 year olds...its very refreshing to see a real woman as the heroine!

Reemz, thank you for this topic! I have always enjoyed reading your posts.
I have nothing more to add because you have already said everything I wanted to, but its really surprising to see some criticizing Jen's acting ability when she is one of the very few actresses who can pull of ANY scene. She is so good that words fall short to describe her.. Kumud is like a breath of fresh air for me. She is different and Im loving her more and more with each episode!

I truly dislike the word 'bubbly'. I really don't like characters that are happy-all-the-time, OTT and just SO DAMN LOUD! ..Because they are unrealistic..and are there just for the sake of an angry young man to fall for them. I am so glad Kumud is not like that. Initially I thought she would be, but she's not, as we've seen in this past week 😊
Plus, there's a difference between being a 'bubbly' person, and being laid-back/happy-go-lucky. Zoya from QH is happy-g-lucky' & that is why I love her so much. Kumud is mature and practical..and I'm sure I'll love watching her more and more as the show progresses!
@Reemz, the novel is set in 18th century Gujrat...so for that time and period, the author had actually made Kumud to be a progressive woman! (I have read the English translation of the Novel...its considered to be a masterpiece in Gujrati Literature)...She is educated (which in itself is a surprise, because girls in general were not educated at that time), cultured and quite bold for that time...that is why she exchanges letters with her bethored and even meets him before marriage...now in 18th century middle-India, that would have been an unthinkable thing to do!
