"Sara And I Share Almost Everything With One Another"

Whoever said that TV actors have a limited scope of showing their acting calibre, definitely haven't seen Angad Hasija's body of work! Known for experimenting with his roles, this handsome hunk has redefined acting on television. The heartthrob is not only blessed with killer looks, but also oozes talent. Be it the character of the mentally challenged Alekh, on the popular show Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai, or the shrewd Shankar with grey shades on Phulwa, Angad has always played his characters to the t. As the actor comes back on TV with Ram Milaayi Jodi, Showtime pins him down for a small tte--tte.

On Making A Smashing Pair With Co-Star Sara Khan

Though there are many good-looking men in the television industry, there's something about Angad Hasija that makes him stand out in the crowd. A classic combo of chocolate boy looks on a super hot body, this guy is back with a bang on TV. After what seems like eons, the audience finally gets to see Angad romance his first co-star Sara Khan on Ram Milaayi Jodi. Angad gushes, "I am very kicked about working on this show. Firstly, my character is completely different from the previous roles that I've played. I am also very excited because

I am seen opposite Sara Khan again. Our fans love to watch us together. So more than myself, I am excited for them," he pauses, "Sara is like my best friend and we wanted to do something together again for quite some time now. Even after …Bidaai ended, people used to invite both of us as a couple for various events and performances. People loved the jodi of Saadhna and Alekh so much that they desperately wanted to see them together on TV again. On this show, we are back in a very different way. Here our characters are quite different. So let's see how the audience finds it," smiles the actor.

Considering that they both were one of the most popular couples of the small screen, can the audience look forward to seeing the same chemistry between the two again? "No, why do you want to see the same old chemistry? People won't feel that they are watching the same couple from our previous show. This is very different and I am sure that everyone will love it. Saadhna was a very coy and simple girl. But Mona is a typical outgoing and flamboyant Punjaban. It's interesting to be paired opposite her," he says confidently.

We all know that generally on TV, the on-screen couples either fall in love with each other for real or just can't stand one another at all. But the bond between Angad and Sara seems quite unique. "Sara and I are the best of friends. It's very different in our case. Right from the very beginning, she knew that I am married and for me, she was always a chirpy li'l girl. So there was no question of love blooming between us. We share almost everything with one another and are great buddies. She is very close to my family as well. Touchwood, we've never had any differences or fights. We've always shared a great bond," he says fondly.

From playing a mentally challenged boy in Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai to a sturdy and strong character in Phulwa, we've seen Angad in different avatars. So what prompted him to take up this slightly more conventional role? "After Phulwa, I wanted to do something classy. I was playing a daaku on that show with no cultural background. It was a very ghaati role and I had a very sturdy and rugged look on that show. So I wanted to try out something totally different and break that image of mine. Here I am playing a stylish and sophisticated man. And by God's grace, I've got exactly the kind of character that I was looking for," he says thankfully.

So what is his character like? "I am playing a self-made guy on the show. He is a businessman who has worked very hard in life. He is soft-spoken and has his own set of values and principles. It's a character with many facets to it and has been through a lot in his past. Gradually, the show will reveal the various sides of him," he explains.

Recently, the handsome actor also got girls swooning over him when he walked the ramp for Rohit Verma's fashion show. So does the actor enjoy modelling as much as acting? "Actually, you can't compare the two. Modelling is vastly different from acting. I think modelling is fun. But acting is my fort. This is the industry that I belong to," he asserts.

Being one of the best looking men on TV today, is Bollywood on the cards for the actor? "Undoubtedly, television comes first for me. It's because of this industry that I am what I am today. People say that I've the best body on TV and I look great, so I should try for Bollywood. But it's not like a compulsion for me. Yes, if good offers come my way, then I'll be game for it. Now I am quite content with television and will always continue to do TV shows," he concludes.

Well, here's hoping that the actor's second innings on TV with co-star Sara Khan outruns their first!
