Okay.....umm....I didn't say that at all! apux, Anu and myself concluded that because she was NOT born and brought up in Canada (she just shifted to Canada at a much LATER age, she was raised in India), she held such backward and typically INDIAN views on roop rang......We would have definately expected her to be more accepting of Ragini's skin colour had she been raised in Canada as that country does not, generally, have such prejudices towards people with darker skin.....Of course, I'm speaking very generally here.....Obviously not all people in India have such prejudices towards darker skinned ppl, just like not all people in Canada, or America, or anywhere else in the world are so liberal about such things....but overall, India is looked upon as a very prejudiced country (in terms of accepting ppl with certain skin tones) in comparison to Western countries....
I do agree that a country doesn't make a person racist directly....but society (the environment in which you grew up) does often play a very significant part in shaping the kind of person you become....
