Well, on having finally watched the epi....I'm intrigued by how they showed the graph of Sheetal's character in today's epi. Initially she only had words of praise for Vasu's would be bahu....saying, 'love marriage hai, parents ko toh bacchon ki khushi chahiye etc. etc" but things changed quickly once she saw who Vasu's would be bahu actually was.

I don't think she intended to blurt out her true opinion of Ragi so clearly....but when she unwittingly got overheard since the music stopped so suddenly, she kind of got put on the spot....and this is where ego comes in.....I think it was her ego which compelled her to justify her viewpoint and talk like that.....cuz she clearly looked uncomfortable initially at having been overheard like that....but when Vasu asked her to take her words back, the ego kicked in and she must have gone in her head, 'why should I?"

But god, the nonsense she started with after that......"I thought you only accepted the middle class rishta cuz the girl must've been really pretty"....what the hell kind of logic is that???🤢.....Silly high society woman!😆😆.....See ego is the ultimate downfall....Vasu was talking similar nonsense not too long ago herself....it's almost like a mirror is being held up to her to show how those kind of words feel when said like that......but I guess for now, she's only hurt cuz of her son.....don't think the mindset has changed....Sheetal is Vasu's reality check of what she herself was not too ago...and probably will be again soon😉

She didn't come across as being so close-minded, or uber conservative in the beginning....She seemed to be open to the idea of love marriages at least....and her acceptance of love marriages may or may not have been inspired by living in the West.....It was only after she was overhead at the Sharma's house that she went on to reveal her true feelings on middle class families and roop rang....and I suppose that view was not something that could be changed by living in the West....no, that is something she carried with her from India....

I doubt that Vasu has ever been on the receiving end of any of these kinds of insults.......If she was, her views on such superficial things would be different....It would take a miracle for her mindset to change as we will see in the coming episodes I'm sure....

@Shumi: Oh Vasu has definitely never been on the receiving end of those kind of insults! What I meant was that if Vasu HAD the wherewithal to realize it.....Sheetal is basically HER from a month ago! Wasn't she using similar degrading language for Ragi back then too??? So I wonder if Vasu realizes this.....she should actually....Sheetal is her BFF....and as Sheetal keeps repeating in the epi, "I know Vasu's choice very well'......so they were both basically of a similar mindset....Vasu only changed cuz of Aalekh and then for Ranvir's happiness......

I couldn't quite decipher Vasu's expression as Sheetal was saying all this to her....Was it, "You're making valid points, Sheetal, but I am helpless in the face of my son's happiness'? or was it, "Why don't you understand that Ragi is a very nice girl and is my son's whole world?"......Everyone else in the room had shock and hurt on their faces....but not Vasu.....Vasu was strangely just melancholically 'understanding' if you will....of Sheetal.....I wonder if this was cuz she was her friend or if she agreed with Sheetal on a basic level about Ragi.

Ok wow, kinda rambled on there....dunno if that makes sense....LOL

Yeah, I too felt her ego compelled her to make the stupid comments. She didn't mean to be overheard. She told that other lady that she'd ask Vasu why and that was it. I think her plan was to ask Vasu privately.

Did anyone see the look on her face when she put haldi on Ragini? She actually looked disgusted and planted a fake smile.

I didn't understand Vasu either, Anu. I was expecting her to cut off her friend and say something, but she just stood there listening.

Ya, Vasu did ask Sheetal to apologize, but I hardly got the feeling she actually disagreed with her....She very much agreed with Sheetal's words a while back and now seemed a bit embarrassed of her bahu today! When she was saying that Ragini was a nice girl and her son loved her when Sheetal first saw Ragini, she did seem helpless as if she is being forced to do all this!

LOL yeah, I saw that.....she was looking at Ragini like she was looking at some sort of freak😕🤢.....and the fake smile was just🤢😆....I think she just couldn't swallow that Vasu picked Ragi over her daughter....who apparently is very 'gorgeous'🤔😆....I'm MOST curious to see who this Sonam is and how exactly she is oh so 'gorgeous'🥱😆

That fake smile made me want to punch her. I think Ragini somewhat noticed it too.

I'd have thought Vasu being the egotistic woman she is would stand up for the decisions that she's made. She accepted Ragini and even if in her heart felt that Sheetal was right, I feel she still should've said something. I guess she might tomorrow although I also think Ambika will be the one to speak up.

Ditto! The words didn't feel from the heart....it was if she'd reached a compromise with her true self for the sake of her son and was just trying to go with the flow because of that. I do think she agrees with Sheetal deep down.....but just won't say anything obviously cuz of Ranvir's happiness lying with Ragini.

It is interesting though....in the boutique, she blasted that designer so much! But here, cuz now it's ppl from her own personal circle, her friends speaking up against Ragini, she looks more reluctant to say anything to defend Ragini that strongly....in fact she just seems to look helpless as you said😕

@Anu: Oh ok.....I'm not sure if any of what Sheetal said about Ragini would make much of a impact on her......coz she has definately not changed her mind about rang roop, but maybe if it has somewhat affected her at all, then it would be because Sheetal, in degrading Ragi like that, insulted Ranvir's choice and also, in turn, Vasu's own choice.....If Vasu really feels bad about what Sheetal is saying then, I think, it will only be because Sheetal, in a way, insulted her son....and Vasu can't have that......but I also believe that Vasu really thinks Ragi is a nice girl....although I do wonder if she has forced herself to accept Ragi as her bahu for the sake of her son, which does kinda seem to be the case, then maybe she has also forced herself to believe that she's a nice girl....

Oh and your rambling made way more sense than mine probably does....so don't worry...=)
