First of all, criticism is not bad. It helps people grow and develop. However when criticism turns into meaningless bashing, then no one benefits.

I think everyone has noticed the various comments that have been made towards a certain actress on the show. Some of the comments refer to her acting abilities (weaknesses, strengths, what we would like to see, etc). And some of the comments are just plain bashing (destructive criticism) that attacks the actress and doesn't bring a productive discussion.

To realize what is a big difference between construcitve criticism and plain bashing. Here is an article: http://expertscolumn.com/content/constructive-and-destructive-criticism

This is a good quote to summarize bashing/destructive criticism

"Destructive criticism does no one any good ...Basically it is just short** and coarse comments that have no redeeming value to anyone with language that should not be repeated within polite company. They tell you nothing and help no one."

**They're not always short though 😛

Both criticism are not going to help our sweet Dev..

BEAUTIFUL ----- DEAR BEAUTIFUULL
I like your comments.. You have lot of care for other people. I saw the horse. Unfortunately you took it to the muddy water and horse was smart, he rejected it.
Since you are talking on the cell phone, you did not notice the muddy water and you drank it. Be careful, you may get sick soon.

Glad you liked it! Very applicable quote... you can give people objective information and reasonable insights, (or even healthy water 😆) but it's up to them to take it or not. Some might have an objective and open mind and be open to different perspectives and some will remain obstinate no matter what.

DEAR BEAUTIFUL/Megustajalebi and Friends,
I am glad that you have used word OBSTINATE. I am /continue to be stubborn till i get perfection. I am not like one of the crowd. I take it an honor though it is intended otherwise.
Since you and your crowd has accepted the Change, You have no business to influence/persuade the change to other members. You have only right to express your opinion and has no right to influence the people here.
Since we have not accepted the change, that does not mean we are idiot. Infact we are smart, has sixth sense, take concrete decision and stick to it.
Honorable QueenYuks -- Note the point here. They have used word Obstinate.. Hope you know the meaning of it. So you have to penalize both Mega and beautiful for using this word.

M not against the newbie at all ... she looks really pretty and she being a Bengali has lovely eyes ...

I caught up with the episodes of her last show ... her character there was an out going one and must say she was brilliant at it ... and loved in that character ...

When things comes to playing Gopi ... i just cant relate to her ... she seems to be uncomfo playing the role of Gopi and thats pretty evident on the screen ... Dev hasnt got emotionally attached to the character as yet, i agree when the show started Giaa was considered to be slow and all, but dont forget it that, the show was just starting at that time.. we all viewers were trying to understand the characters as the actors were portraying on the screen, it was after our acceptance the show ran for 2.5years and is still running ...

But, Dev she aint suitable for the role which is so timid, shy, docile, patient ... Gopi isnt about anger at all .. she all about emoting her emotions either through her eyes and expressions on her face ... Dev hasnt understood the character, rather she aint aware of the ups and downs of Gopi, off which we as viewers are aware off ...

Its the Directors fault here, because somewhere or the other he is failing to make Dev understand what Gopi is all about .. She aint at fault because she might have seen the Cds of certain episodes which were shoot with Giaa and keeping her acting in mind Dev is giving her scene ... Dev recites the lines which are given to her w/o getting involved in it ... as an actor its "your" job to make the audience believe that "you" are through the ups and downs and not the character, its only then when the audience starts relating to you ...

Th emain problem with Dev is that she isnt involved in the show nor has she been involved in the character ... Dev personally, is very vibrant and jovial girl ... She is perfectly suitable for the roles which are out going , out spoken or vibrant ... Am sure she'l excel in such characters and will be adorable equally ...

Am extremely sorry if my response is out of the post ... and Dev fans if i hurted you'l by any means am extremely sorry for that ...

Good post . Agree with you Zehra.

I would like to share Byron's words on criticism

"As soon seek roses in December, ice in June,
Hope constancy in wind, or corn in chaff
Believe a woman or an epitaph
Or any other thing that's false
Before you trust in critics."

This was actually a pretty good example of criticism that isn't bashing 👍🏼

I agree that Dev brings a different vibe than what Gia brought. In my opinion, that isn't necessarily a bad thing. To some people, it's strange and that's understandable. I kind of see the new vibe as a breath of fresh air.

But I hope more people will accept her with time, as Dev continues to mold herself as Gopi.
