Part 22

Next morning at 5am Gopi heard the knock on the door, she woke up and looked at Ahem, he was sleeping peacefully, she carefully maved his arms from arond her and got out of bed to anwser the door. Koki was at the door, telling her to hurry up and get ready and to also wake Ahem, they want the wedding to take place first thing in the morning. Gopi says ji maji, and Koki leaves.

Gopi closes the door and goes to wake Ahem. He was already awake watching her come towards the bed, he pretends to sleep.

Gopi goes on Ahem's side of the bed and sits next to him. She raises her hand to touch his face, but hesitates and pulls back, Ahem is watching her with eyes half closed, she whispers his name, Ahemji? He doesn't anwser, she again raises her hand hesitantly, but this time he is ready for her an takes her hand before she could pull back, and brings it to his face.

Gopi is surprises and looks at him and says you are awake! He smiles and says his been awake since she left his arms. Gopi flushes and gets shy. He teases her and says, I think we have found a cure for your insomnia, she looks at him confused, he says you just need to be in my arms every night and you will sleep like a baby. Gopi's lips are twitching, amused by his teasing, she says ok enough teasig, maji wants us to hurry and get ready.

He says ok, but first I want to say a proper good morning. He pulls her towards him and gives her a soft lingering kiss on her lips, he pulls back and says good morning, she replies a good mornign and gets up to take a sari out, but he stops her and says not that one, he gets up and brings her the sari he had bought the day before, she takes the box and opens it to see a very beautiful pink sari with sparkling silver decorations all thru the sari, she looks up at him, he says I noticed you liked this color so I bought it for you to wear today for our new begining.

He asks her if she likes it, she looks up with tears in her eyes and nod her head yes. He wipes her tears and craddles her cheek in his hand and just looks at her with smile on his face. She puts the sari down and goes to his closet to pick out the beige sherwani with silver thread in it and lays it our for him, she then goes to get ready

After awhile they both get ready and goes down. Gopi back in her gujarati style, but hair still loose, parted to side. They take blessings from everyone, Ahem takes his mom aside and hand her the mangalsutra and the sindoor box he had bought the day before, Koki looks at him with pride in her eyes.

They go to the mandir where the pandit is waiting to perform the ceremony. The wedding start, the pandit start reciting the wedding mantras, Back ground music starts as the wedding is taking place.

After the ceremony is over they take blessings from everyone, everyone leaves the mandir except for Gopi and Ahem, he takes her towards Kanaji, and takes her hands in his and recites all the vows to her (the ones she took back). When he finishes she has tears in her eyes, and he says one more thing, you will only cry happy tears from this day forward.

Kinjle is in the background listening and panicking, she realizes things have escalated point of no return. She is sure when she tell umang of this new development in her brothers life he will be mad, she didn't know what to do, she again have to do something to separate them, she leaves from there and goes to her room to call Umang, to come up with a plan to separate Ahem and Gopi.
