"Baat mat karo mujhse'. Mein ne kaha tha ek hafte pehle aana aur tum ab aarahi ho shaadi ke 4 din pehle'.. aaj bas koi bahaana nahin chalega'"
(The marriage is just 4 days away and you come now... Don't you dare talk to me... I don't want to hear any of your excuses)
Hetal started to rant upon seeing her best friend. She wasn't only her best friend but also her best enemy. Since college days, they used to fight like cat and dog and now even after years they still are the same. They won't leave even a single chance of pulling each other's legs.
"Teek hai.. mat kar'. Mein yahaan tere liye thodi na aayi hoon'."
(Ok I won't. Anyways I didn't come here for your sake.)
She walked away pretending as if she's not bothered at all'. She walked into the house handing her bag to a servant and then greeted Urmila who was smiling upon seeing the exchange between her bhabhi and her friend. She dared not to speak a word between them fearing she would become their target.
"Urmila aise kadi kadi kya dekh rahi hai.... pooch isse' yeh aise akeli kaise chali aayi?? baaki log kahaan hai???"
(Urmila..why are you standing like a statue... Ask her where are others?)
Hetal nudged Urmila turning her face away. Poor Urmila turned her face towards her expecting that she would answer.
"Oyi' tu aise kya dekh rahi hai mujhe??? Jaa na' teri beti ki shaadi hai' kitna saara kaam pada hai'. abhi tak kuch bhi nahi hua' Jinhe jawab chahiye woh khud pooch sakti hai' yahaan na koi ghoonga hai aur na koi behara' tu jaa'" Kokila sent Urmila away.
(Why are u staring at me like that? Its' your daughter's marriage.. go n do some work... Whoever wants to ask questions they themselves can ask... u can leave)
"Kokila aunty!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
A girl shrieked from the top of the stairs and came down running. Without wasting a moment, she squashed Kokila into a hug. Breaking the hug,
"Rashi. Meri bachi' kaisi hai tu?? Arre yeh kya kitni patli ho gayi hai' mujhe pata hai yahaan kuch logon ko gussa karne ke siva aur kuch aata nahin hai' ab mein aagayi hoon na.. tu fikar mat kar' mere tere saare pasand ke cheezein banaoungi'" Kokila lovingly patted her cheek.
(Rashi dear.. how r u? You look so skinny now. I completely understand few people here can just be angry on others... they don't bother about others... Don't worry now that i'm here.... i'll make all your favorite dishes... )
"Haan.. haan' abhi sirf moti lag rahi hai' ab sumo banna baaki hai'."
(Why not.. She's just looking lil fat now.. she still have to becum a sumo right)
Hetal retorted angrily.
"Dekhiye na aunty.."
(Aunty)
Rashi complained to her aunt who loved her most among all.
"Beta' aksar aisa hota hai' jab log jalte hai kissi cheez se jalte hai toh ' tum fikar mat karo'"
(It's ok dear... They're jus jealous)
Kokila smilingly remarked while Rashi pulled her tongue out and teased Hetal.
"Jaane bhi do aunty' in dono ko na hume saatane ke siva kuch bhi nahin aata' hum bekar mein time waste kyun karein.. chaliye hum chalte hain' waise aapko pata hai' mein ne aapke liye kuch special gift laaya hai' chalo chalte hain'"
(Jus leave them alone aunt.. why waste your time on them.... I'm right here... I brought a special gift for you... Lets' go)
A boy came and held Hetal by shoulder and giving her a side hug showed his tongue out to Rashi and Kokila.
"Jigar'. Aagaya mera beta' chalo chalte hain' mere pass bhi tumhare liye surprise hai'" Hetal and Jigar left from there leaving a fuming Rashi and Kokila behind.
(Jigar... my son.. u r here... Lets' go.. even i made something special for you)
Hetal took Jigar to the dining table and placed a box in front of him. He opened it to see yummy besan ke ladoo and his mouth started watering. He gave a quick hug to his Hetal aunty and started relishing them.
Rashi sat on a chair fuming as she saw Jigar enjoying. Kokila joined them soon with something hid behind her back. She went to Rashi and handed her gift. It was a box of chocolates and Rashi hugged Kokila sticking her tongue out at Jigar.
"Tum dono bhi na' kabhi shaanti se nahin bait sakte' kaise bigad ke rakha hai dono ko'" Parag and Chirag joined them when they saw their children being spoiled by their wives.
(You too will never change... jus can't stay without fighting.. U have spoiled these two kids too)
"Itna boora feel hone ki jaroorat nahin hai Popss' Aap ka bhi waqt aagaya'" Jigar smirked at an angry Parag who was ready to chase Jigar by now.
(You don't hav to feel bad about it Popss... You'll have your day too)
Jigar ran away from there and so did Rashi after him as she had a lot to know, leaving the elders on their own.
"Arre Hetal.. ab bas di karo' gussa chodo na'"
(Hetal.. I think you should leave your anger atleast now)
Chirag looked at Hetal with pleading eyes.
"Waise toh maaf kardeti lekin ab bilkul nahin' poochiye inse humare daamad ji hai kahaan???" Hetal asked frowning.
(I'd have forgive n long back but now.. ask them where's our son-in-law?)
"Acha' jo hai unki toh koi kadar hi nahin hai' aur chinta ho rahi hai toh apne shehzaade ki'." Parag pouted as if angry.
(Oh.. you aren't bothered about people here.. jus bothered about your son-in-law)
"Haan.. bilkul' daamad ki fikar ho rahi hai' lekin samdhiyon ka toh khayal hi nahin hai'" Kokila joined Parag in the game.
(You're right.... worried only about son-in-law. what about us.. his parents)
"Jab beta jaisa damaad ho toh pyaar toh barsana hi padega.."
(When son-in-law behaves as a son then he should be treated the same right)
Chirag winked at them.
"Abhi abhi toh business join kiya hai na' toh kaam mein ulja hua hai' raat tak aajayega'" Parag answered their questions.
(He's busy with some work.. wil be here by evening)
"Lagta hai bohut mehnat karwaayi jaa rahi hai'"
(Seems like he's working real hard)
Hetal questioned.
"Haan' bilkul.. aur kyun na karein'. Ab jaldi se bahu ko jo le jaana hai'"
(Yea... why not.. he have to get my daughter-in-law home soon)
Kokila answered.
"Bas Hetal' hum dono baad mein ladlenge' ab mujhse intezaar nahin ho raha' hai kahaan meri bahu???" Kokila was getting impatient.
(Hetal we can fight later now jus call my would be daughter-in-law here... i jus want to see her right now)
Hetal smiled and signaled her to turn and see.
Kokila stood there with wide smile on her face mesmerized by her to-be- daughter-in-law. His son is definitely gonna have a tough time.
"Gopi!!" Parag squealed and Gopi ran to him quick.
She was about to touch his feet when he pulled her into a bear hug and then followed by Kokila.
She was Parag's pet since childhood. He always longed to have a daughter but had two sons so his wish was partially fulfilled with the birth of Gopi, his best friend's daughter.
Kokila looked at her lovingly but she knew that Gopi wasn't actually focusing on them and was trying to search through the crowd for someone, whom she could easily make out.
"Kokila chalo ab chalte hain' Kinjal se toh bhi milna hai' warna kahegi shaadi uski hai lekin hume uska khayal hi nahin rakh rahe hain" Hetal pulled Kokila.
(Koki lets' go.. We've to go meet Kinjal too.. otherwise she'll complain that it's her marriage and yet no one is paying attention to her)
The men walked away smiling while Hetal walked towards the stairs and Gopi was left behind who was still lost in her world. Kokila stepped beside her and slowly whispered
"Usse bohut jaroori kaam aagaya' Humare saath nahin aaya' raath tak aajayega"
(He got some important work so he didn't cum with us.. he'll be here by evening)
That made Gopi come out of her trance and she immediately turned a shade of red due to the smirk on Kokila's face. Gopi bit her lower lip and ran away from there. Kokila stood there smiling for a second and then left as she heard Hetal calling out for her.
She joined Hetal who nudged her asking what happened upon noticing the smirk on her face which wasn't ready to leave.
"Mujhe lagta hai ki jald hi humara intezaar katam hone wala hai' shayad dono khud hume aake baataye ki woh dono ek doosre se'"
(I think our patience will soon get its fruit... may be both of them are soon going to tell us the good news that they love each other)
Kokila looked at Hetal hopefully.
"Agar woh na bhi kahe na' kya tumhe lagta hai ki unke pass koi aur option hai?? Hum unhe ek karke hi rahenge na.."
(Don't worry.. even if they won't say... do you think we're going to leave them with any other option.. We'll get them together by hook or crook)
She winks at Kokila and then both of them hug laughing.
Sorry guys.. No Aham n Gopi here becoz the whole of sequence which follows is only about them.. so jus chill n njoy... hoping i get some comments... n do let me know if u want a pm...
