Why do muslims care about the specifics of any God whatsoever...It means they bend backwards trying to know what it is and try to think there is a problem!! Like someone just mentioned few posts back that she might not know the meaning of those words and thats how it should be...especially since you know one of the words is the mentors name...😊

personally, i don't understand why people are so against sara refusing to say "har har mahadev." why is it such a big dilemma? it's her personal choice, and i believe that zee tv and others here should respect that. Its only that she comes across as irritatingly fussy.. I would think.. if a person is so picky about things they should not be allowed on the show at all..

from my personal experience, i have many hindu friends who are very into hinduism, and i can guarantee you that you will never hear them say stuff like "inshallah" or "Allah o akbar," but should that matter to me? no. i don't care. they are great people, and that's why i am friends with them. i respect them regardless of what they believe in. it's all a matter of accepting others' decisions. Non-urdu/arabic People who say insha allah.. 90% of the them know what it means. Its just that they arent narrow minded to back-off on differences.

"I still feel, given her traditional looks nobody is going to ask her to wear anything but traditional outfits.."

actually, i don't think you can assume that. look at ankita from indian idol. she wore very tom-boyish, head-to-toe kind of clothing, but she was changed to wear more modern outfits. Yeah tom-boyish to modern possible traditional to modern - a tough road...

I think the problem is not the Gods involved in the slogan but muslims liken it to some kind of war-cry (made famous by vhp/rss) asserting their rights.post the babri masjid incidence.. and they feel its like aligning with the sentiment...thats where this comes from...its another thing that this war-cry is more against the other gharanas or mentors...but short-sightedness just holds us back from acting in a sporting manner...😊

actually if any1 shud have a prob it shud be vhp n rss not muslims as a religious slogan is used 4 some other purpose. if i say i am shahrukh i don become srk similarly if she says har har mahadev in the show its not blasphemy.

if her mother was so afraid 2 send her 2 mumbai due to the clothes the galz weswr there y did she come here in the first place. its the individuals choice 2 wear whteva they want. she cant say its wrong.

It is explicitly a Shaivite slogan. Taking the name of Shiva (which is what this slogan does) is shirk to Muslims, as Islam does not recognize Shiva.

Muslim audiences will NOT appreciate seeing a Muslim girl taking the name of Shiva. This is simply a fact. Babbling about how Muslims "should" tolerate this is COMPLETELY BESIDES THE POINT!! The FACT is that THEY WILL NOT. And Zee is not here to change the world. Not to mention that Muslims wanting to do something about this may not be able to take out their wrath on Zee -- and so make take it out on Sara instead. That's right. On her.

Wake up, people. Please.

Exactly! I think a lot of people in this thread need to see the other point of view as well. They may not think its a big deal but it is for the person who is forced to say a slogan with religious connotations that is against their religion IT IS. I am not even a muslim but i can understand and empathize with the girl.

Why should Zee force a certain point of view on their contestants even though they don't believe in it. I think its wrong on their part.

And saying that just because she is participating in this competition (which i should remind is a singing/performance based competition so they should take the religious aspects OUT of it) does not mean that she should compromise with her beliefs and be a puppet in the hands of the network.
